Hi Aldo,

Thanx for the wonderful work you have done during all those years on PS3.
This is great.

Having said that, i am facing a weird behavior on webman mod 1.41.25.
First off, mygames.xml doesnt generate well if ISOs are streamed through ps3netsrv AND webman Memory use is set to maximum.
If i turn webman memory usage to minimum and generate mygames.xml, now thngs work perfectly...
I'm on Rogero 4.46 Cobra V1.

Another weird thing, still about mygames.xml generation but also html generation:
I have some ps3netserved games that are entitled by their BLES code only, and not by the filename.
Even after a fresh webman install, first generation makes those games appear with this kind of name. I don't know why, as if the PARAM.SFO had been read although those games are ISO formated.

Third question:
Does disableing features minimize the use of memory? I mean, if i turn off FTP, pad shortcuts, fan control etc, do i get more free memory? My question is related to video recording, you might have guessed ^^
I'm looking for the least memory greedy configuration that would let me play ps3netsrv ISOs and record those.

Thx for your help!
Cheers

Thank you for the bug report... it is possible that "maximum memory" usage could not be working as before due the footprint of the plugin has grown lately due the increased number of features.
I'll have to check if I should adjust the memory settings. Meanwhile try selecting 'standard', 'minimum' or 'min+'.

Could you post a picture about the 2nd issue? I want to be sure that I understand the issue.

The memory usage of webMAN only increases during the scanning of games (XML, HTML or .js), during the file transfer, copying a game or when a page is browsed. The memory is freed when the task is completed.

The video recording uses a large amount of memory (+6MB) and some games are using almost all the free memory. The memory used by FTP, fan control, pad shortcuts, etc. is not too significant. So, I don't think that disabling these features would help much. If you think webMAN is using too much memory, you can test unloading webMAN and using mysis PoC to record.

Wow, thanx Aldo for that quick reply

Here is the picture requested:
Bug_webman.jpg

As you can see, there is no problem with Bioshock Infinite. The game is named after the file name (/PS3ISO/Bioshock_Infinite-[BLES01705].iso), whereas Darksiders displays "simply" BLES00705 when its filename is /PS3ISO/Darksiders-[BLES00705].iso ...
Does this make things clearer?

I have this issue with several games. This bug appeared with 1.41.

aldostools nothing displays in my games on xmb started on 1.41.17 and every version after, i dont think its finding the xml or icons. 1.41.16 works and displays in the xmb, is there anything i could do to quick fix it?

I've had this issue.
Reducing mem usage solved the problem.

samson I have confirmed the issue reported by NoisilySilent using the MAX memory settings... The original maximum of 1280KB seems to be too much for the webMAN MOD.

For the moment the workaround is to use STANDARD or MIN/MIN+. With these settings I didn't experienced the issue.

In the next build I plan to reduce the MAX from 1280KB to 1152KB. That is 128KB less (2 memory pages of 64K).
This change will reduce the maximum number of PS3 items, but will increase the stability.
Also unchecking the scanning of non-used content (like PSX, PS2 or BD/DVD) can compensate the reduction.

all ready on min usage 320kb (1972kb free mem) and tried deleting wmtmp, wmconfig.bin and history. I'll try a manual install over 1.41.16 later.

aldostools ok no worrys i can still load via xmbm+ for now.

I just installed webMAN mod on a freshly jailbraked slim with Rogero 4.46 - cobra 7.00 installed.
Seems icons are not copied from the updater game folder to the tmp/wm_icons folder.
Tryed with 1.41.08, 1.41.16 and 1.41.23 updaters. Same issue. lang files are there.
Strange.

1.41.26 has same issue. Also tested on another console.

You can test with this build... It has the MAX memory setting changed from 1280KB to 1152KB (20 memory pages -> 18 memory pages)
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server.sprx

if(footprint==2) //MAX
{
BUFFER_SIZE_ALL = ( 1152*KB);
BUFFER_SIZE_FTP = ( _256KB_);
//BUFFER_SIZE = ( 512*KB);
BUFFER_SIZE_PSX = ( _192KB_);
BUFFER_SIZE_PSP = ( _64KB_);
BUFFER_SIZE_PS2 = ( _128KB_);
BUFFER_SIZE_DVD = ( _256KB_);

if((webman_config->cmask & PS1)) BUFFER_SIZE_PSX = (_64KB_);
if((webman_config->cmask & PS2)) BUFFER_SIZE_PS2 = (_64KB_);
if((webman_config->cmask & (BLU | DVD)) == (BLU | DVD)) BUFFER_SIZE_DVD = (_64KB_);
}

The initial memory reserved for BUFFER_SIZE (PS3 content) is 512KB.
If scanning of PSX content is unchecked, the BUFFER_SIZE increase 128KB.
If scanning of PS2 content is unchecked, the BUFFER_SIZE increase 64KB.
If scanning of DVD and BD content are unchecked, the BUFFER_SIZE increase 192KB.

So the BUFFER_SIZE can be increased up to 896KB, if you only use PS3 games. That is 256KB more than the 640KB reserved in the original webMAN.

I will but I'm not sure I understand.
It is not a plugin issue in my sense. It is an issue of the updater : icons files are not copied from the updater game folder to the tmp/wm_icons folder
Copying them manually, it works.

Sorry, I quoted you by mistake. The post about MAX memory was directed to samson

Could you test if this updater behaves different?
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/updater.pkg

(it does not have the changes about MAX memory usage)

I've been having an issue when webman fan control is enabled. When I power on my system the fan is on MAX speed for about a minute before going back to the speed I set. This causes a huge annoyance. Anyone know why?

Yes. That's the problem? No way to fix it?

to fix it, you will have to use FSM. And it will come back once you will use a control fan apps.
If you shut down your console using webman, rebug toolbox or multiman, you should not have the issue.

Yes that is true about shutting down. So if I use fsm thingy, it will be gone. But if I use cfu again it will come back and be annoying when I turn it on?

That's what it looked like to me too missing icons so isn't loading, i had a go at a manual install over 1.41.16 and can confirm that 1.41.26 now shows everything under my games.

That's what happened to me.
I don't know where the issue come from. And why only on those models. It seems there is not real fix.
Maybe an information about fan/temp status is stored into syscon eeprom when using XMB shutdown menu? Maybe a memory reminiscence? I don't know at all.

Yeah my cechl04 goes nuts on the fan until you turn off auto fan speed in webman.
Once its off it stays working good though. Just revs its tits off on a fresh install even in recovery mode until you can get in and change that setting. :)
I just avoid any apps that mess with fanspeed.

Edit: Wait, after re-reading that, does turning that off disable auto fan speed completely?
I thought it just reverted back to the default Sony fan control?

Edit 2: Ok normal fan control still works fine with webman fan control disabled :)
Keeps temps nice and stable without sending me deaf lol.
