So I updated to webMAN 1.45.05 MOD (full) and grabbed the latest source. Compiled ps3netsrv
ps3netsrv build 20161211 (mod by aldostools)
and used that, but it still crashes when I "Refresh XML" and "Refresh HTML" after a second or two of it starting.

I can also make it crash by going to Files / Net0 and go into my GAMES folder (Where most of my games are). It shows the game folders and after a few seconds, ps3netsrv on the linux machine crashes again. It does show all folders though.

ps3netsrv is simply launched with
Code:
./ps3netsrv64 /mnt/ps3 38008 192.168.101.*

webMAN MOD 1.45.05 memory set to "Normal" (Always worked before).

To be honest, I'm not sure if its the new webMAN MOD or Rebug that caused it since I have not had it started in a while...

It does not seem to be the ps3netsrv64 binary though. I went back to my previous version (ps3netsrv build 20151215.1 (mod by aldostools)) and that does the same thing..

Edit: It lists all the GAMES and then, as my cursor is on one of the games, shows the logo for that game (Still in Files/Net0), ps3netsrv crashes. This is with just one game in GAMES.

If I do not go into GAMES and just use a few ISO files in PS3ISO, it does not happen. Neither does it happen in PSXISO.

If I leave GAMES empty, I can happily refresh XML and HTML without problems. If I put a single game into GAMES (tested a few different onces), ps3netsrv crashes.

Another example. Notice how it crashes on the first game it automatically hovered over when going into File / net0/GAMES:
Code:
# ./ps3netsrv64 /mnt/ps3/Share 38008 192.168.101.*
ps3netsrv build 20161211 (mod by aldostools)
Path: /mnt/ps3/Share

Edit3: Sorry for the spam. To test, I renamed the ICON0.PNG to .old in the first game in the list. I could happily go into GAMES and back out again without it crashing. As soon as I scrolled one game down (with original ICON0.PNG), it loaded it and crashed.

So for sure something to do with loading the ICON0.PNG or whatever it does afterwards with ps3netsrv when it has loaded it (because it DOES show on the PS3 at the same time as the crash).

I might also add, I've tried with various games in the GAMES folder. Once I put a single game in there (Various), it crashes...

Heya =) No, I've not tried PS3 Games Manager. I guess I'm not a kind of person who likes to control my PS3 from a browser on another machine. I like to do it all on the console itself. I might have a look at it though, heh.

Clever trick with HAProxy. Yes, I knew about it but never thought of using it like this. In my case it would not help though since ps3netsrv crashes every time. I did make a small script running in crontab on the machine though, so if its not running, its automatically started. That does not really help when it crashes when scanning for new/removed games though since that process aborts when ps3netsrv crashes =(

How many game backups do you have Turranius ?

I seriously can not find a combination that works anymore. It was months since I last did a full scan so I have no idea how far back I have to go.

Code:
Rebug 4.81.1 - webMAN MOD 1.45.4/5 - ps3netsrv 20161211 = ps3netsrv Crash
Rebug 4.80.1 - webMAN MOD 1.45.1 - ps3netsrv 20161211 = ps3netsrv Crash
Rebug 4.80.1 - webMAN MOD 1.45.0 - ps3netsrv 20161211 = ps3netsrv/PS3 hangs with spinning wheel. Leaving it until it times out on PS3 crashes ps3netsrv.
Rebug 4.80.1 - webMAN MOD 1.43.36 - ps3netsrv 20161211 = ps3netsrv/PS3 hangs with spinning wheel. Leaving it until it times out on PS3 crashes ps3netsrv.
Rebug 4.80.1 - webMAN MOD 1.43.36 - ps3netsrv 20151215.1 = OK while browsing Files net0/GAMES: - Crashes on Refresh XML/HTML
Rebug 4.80.1 - webMAN MOD 1.45.5 - ps3netsrv 20151215.1 = OK while browsing Files net0/GAMES: - Crashes on Refresh XML/HTML

Try using the build made by deank (note it doesn't support multi-part ISOs over network)
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/blob/master/ps3netsrv/bins/old/ps3netsrv.zip

If it still crashes, try moving all the games out of the shared folder, then re-scan the content adding the games in small groups until you find the group of games that cause the crash.

aldostools my man, you reading this thread or should I post elsewhere? =)
Aldo is not working on call guys...
He was clear about not being very available atm so posting the same thing in another thread will achieve nothing except annoy a few people.
Can he enjoy the festive season peacefully?
He is giving all of us much of his time the whole year round, including to you.
Have you not noticed that I don't mention him atm?

I was not trying to rush him. I figured if he did not respond in a few days, I should post elsewhere since I noticed I was in an old webMAN mod folder and was not sure if those were still read.

So yeah, relax a bit. I am sorry if what I wrote came out the wrong way.

Thanks aldostools. As I wrote above, my post was not ment to stress you. It was ment as a geniune question. Sorry.

I just tested deanks version and it does not crash. I just make a full XML scan without problems. That was with Rebug 4.81.1 and webMAN MOD 1.45.5

Edit: works fine with 4.80.1 and webMAN MOD 1.43.30 as well.

Edit2: For some reason it works now. I did a full linux update and recompiled it. No errors so far.
I also tried the version I compiled previously and they also work now. No idea how or why...

Sorry again

Edit3: And just as I wrote that, it crashed again. I'll be back =) Need to do more testing.

Edit4: I load deanks version and can scroll just fine in File / net0/GAMES:
webMAN MOD 1.45.5 shows the images just fine as I scroll down.

I stop the deank version and load the newly compiled 20161211 version (while still in the file list). Scroll one line and boom.

Here is the full "log"

Code:

Aborted

This is with only a few games in GAMES. Does not matter which ones.

It seems to only crash when listing the Files / net0/GAMES: folder now. I can scan XML and HTML just fine.
As long as I keep out of the Files menu, I should be fine...

Some more testing today. I did a full restore on a PS3 (formatted) and tried it again.
Installed webMAN MOD 1.45.5 and set memory to Standard. Setup the ps3netsrv connection and clicked "Rescan XML"
Code:
# ./ps3netsrv64 /mnt/ps3/Share 38008 192.168.101.*
ps3netsrv build 20161211 (mod by aldostools)
Path: /mnt/ps3/Share

*** Error in `./ps3netsrv64': double free or corruption (out): 0x00007f93d8000900 ***
(Cuting away the rest of the error)
The SFO file is copied OK: /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/Sniper - Ghost Warrior 2 [BLES01527].SFO
but that is the only file in there, part from "auto_power_off".

Restarting ps3netsrv and trying again, it now copies the PNG file before crashing again.
Code:
# ./ps3netsrv64 /mnt/ps3/Share 38008 192.168.101.*
ps3netsrv build 20161211 (mod by aldostools)

*** Error in `./ps3netsrv64': double free or corruption (out): 0x00007f1510000900 ***
Once again, the PNG file was copied and looks OK: /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/Sniper - Ghost Warrior 2 [BLES01527].png

Now trying it with deanks ps3netsrv. It looks OK. I can see that /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/ fills up with SFO and png files when scanning XML.

When deleting the PNG and SFO files /dev_hdd0/tmp/, they are not readded when rescanning XML. What do I need to delete for webMAN MOD to try the download again (except for formatting the HD again)..

I might add that I also tested the windows version of ps3netsrv. Copied 7 games over and shared that folder. I get exactly the same thing there..

However, I can just restart ps3netsrv and scan again and it will gladly pick up 2 more games before crashing again. I had to start it 4 times to pick up 7 games.

If I, with the windows version, delete all PNG and SFO files from /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/, it happly puts them all back without crashing on a rescan.

Am I really the only one having major problems right now?

If I map the linux share on the windows machine and run ps3netsrv from windows, I am able to refresh XML from it without crash now. No idea why ps3netsrv crashed after 2 games on windows yesterday, but that was from a local drive.

Linux version still crashes after copying one PNG or SFO file.

I've made a script that copies all the png and SFO files so the "Refresh XML" function does not have to. That works for now.

Now I can't get 1.45.05 to find more then 887 games, but I made another thread about that..

Can not check right now, but its what it is by default. But thats what that PS3 listens to, right? Should not interfear?

I'll check in the morning if it makes a difference =)

Well if the local ps3 based ps3netsrv is on & using the same port, at best it uses some needed memory for nothing & at worst it may interfere... Worth checking imo.

I installed the standard version of webMAN MOD 1.45.05, which does not have ps3netsrv integrated, and it made no difference. It still finds the same amount of games. The linux version of ps3netsrv goes through fine if I already have the PNG and SFO files in /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/, but as soon as I remove one file from there and refresh XML, ps3netsrv still crashes once that file have been copied.

So that made no difference =(

Have you tried an earlier version of the Linux executable if you are using the latest?
Have you checked the various commits that could account for this difference in behaviour between the Linux version & Windows version?

Afaik you are the only person who reported this issue with Linux ps3netsrv...
Where does this ps3netsrv for 64bit comes from? The ps3netsrv repo? The wMM repo?
Am asking because main.cpp changes were committed a month ago & then 2 weeks ago in the ps3netsrv repo... So if your binary is older or more recent, I would recommend changing it...

Btw could you use spoiler for your code tag to post your logs, otherwise it takes too much space, especially with certain devices...

I get them from here: https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/

I'm now testing on another linux machine with another game share to rule things out.

deanks version = OK
ps3netsrv64.1.43.18 (from webman mod 1.43.18). = OK
ps3netsrv64.1.43.20 = OK but also gives this:

Aborted (core dumped)

This was verified on my "main" machine as well. This is probably why I have not noticed it as I've not really done a rescan xml for a long time previously (Probabaly on 1.43.18 or 1.43.20).

I can't find any versions between 1.43.20 and 1.43.28 to pinpoint the exact version it crashes on.

@aldostools Happy new year 2017 I wish you the best for this year

I have a question about 1.45.07 changlog where you write
- Added syscall 15 to disable CFW syscalls

Is it specific to disable new syscall on Cobra 3.12 and + ?
If using Cobra 3.12 and + with an hold webMAN (before version) is there any ban risk from PSN ? Does PSN see this new syscall 15 or not.

Thanks in advance for your response
