PS3 webMAN v1.46n - New XMB Game Mounting Improvements (using wm_proxy/xai_plugin) by deank

Following the recent updates from legendary developer deank that improved NTFS support a great deal in the webMAN plugin, and the recent Cobra Update (stage2.bin) that allows you to play Games & Media from burnt optical disc. The developer has been busy with yet another trick up his sleeves, as we showed yesterday deank has been working on a new test feature for webMAN , now the test feature has been introduced officially in webMAN v1.46n. this new feature utilizes the source code release for the custom xai_plugin (by mysis) and mounting games is much faster and cleaner from the XMB as the web-browser trick is no longer needed as deank adapts the custom xai_plugin in a great way. Checkout all the details and a video demo of the new game loading in the details/changelog provided by deank..

This is freaking awesome, it will be the first time I´ll use a version of webMan that wasn't builti-in inside of the CFW never find reasons to install a diferent one but this one is so cool that I have to

im on rebug 4.81.2 and using webman mod for last year ,so i wanted to try this awesome new feature but dont have much luck..i have added boot plugin.txt (edited properly txt file) and both sprx (webserver and xai plugin) in devhdd0 and rebooted but still showing webman mod.?

is there proper way to uninstall webman mod atm and use webman only?

thx :)

I don't know about that xai_plugin (is it XMB tools?). I guess on rebug webMAN MOD is loaded from /dev_flash/vsh/module/webftp_server.sprx so you'll have to delete that one (from /dev_blind) or replace it.

I don't like that webMAN/webMAN MOD are added directly to firmwares, but sadly that's not my call.

Slightly off-topic:

May be someone will find it useful, but multiMAN's webserver keeps track of all requests for game-updates for the last 3-4 years. Here is a list of all game titles with updates (about 2627 titles): http://deanbg.com/PS3_Game_Updates.zip

The format is "|" delimited list of:
TITLE:|0|0|0
GAMEUPDVER|SIZE|FWVER|LINK.

Some games have multiple updates - each on a separate line.

Code:
HAZE:|0|0|0
01.36|75464000|02.2000|h..p://b0.ww.np.dl.play......

On rebug cfw the easiest way to disable webman mod is with rebug toolbox. In selector tab you can enable/disable webman mod.

You don't need to add xai plugin to boot_plugins.txt
All is already implemented in the new webman 1.46n

Thanks @deank this is indeed useful for me.

Probably all you need to do is replace webftp_server.sprx in dev_blind/vsh/module/
To get access to dev_blind use any up to date file manager eg. mmOS from multiman. Remember to enable dev_blind in mM settings. And remember to not touch other files, this is your PS3 flash memory.

2622 titles. :-p Thanks for sharing. :)
I don't know about that xai_plugin (is it XMB tools?).
CFW tools is known as xai_plugin until now. He is probably asking due to release note:

webMAN 1.46n Changes
1) Mounting games is now faster (using wm_proxy/xai_plugin instead of webbrowser_plugin)
5) wm_proxy.zip included in ZIP with sample xai_plugin

This can be confusing for some people. Sorry but I can't do it by myself (OFW only). Can you explain that anything excluding sprx and boot_plugins.txt (on non-rebug) is needed to make new webman functions like faster mounting thru proxy to work? Mostly asking about that xai sample, is needed for standard user? Thanks. :)

The mention of wm_proxy/xai_plugin was for developers and there is no xai_plugin in the zip neither instructions about it - webMAN's webftp_server.sprx is all-in-one and that's what is needed for an upgrade. And everything is explained in the README file in webMAN*.zip as always. There is boot_plugins/category_game and webftp_server - all that in the zip with instructions (since 2013).

@deank Thanks a lot for this new feature that clearing web browser
I just tried on 4.81.2 D-REX and it's perfect, no more web browser and very quick to mount ISO then go automaticly to column where ISO is mounted. Really great !!!

@aldostools Thanks a lot to implement and maintain all this features in full edition
At the moment it doesn't work with LaunchPad for me, web browser open.
Do you think this feature will be applicable in futur to LaunchPad ?

Oh man, that's slick! Great job Deank and Mysis!

Glad to see you around here. Normally it's just on Reddit. @deank & @Joonie if one were to use this on Rebug it would remove the CFW Tools which I'm not ready to lose but would it cause any other issues? And any chance to have the best of both worlds? I haven't been home yet to give this a try but I am a little confused as it seems it may not need to replace the xai plugin?
