XMB Package Downloader (XMBPD)

PS3 XMB Package Downloader - An XMB MOD that intergrates a Homebrew Store on the XMB v0.70

Hey, when I go into /dev_hdd0/tmp/explore/xil2/music/gb/c there are no other folders, only an xml file.

Yeah that's the way it is when the gb folder has been first created, is your ps3 only freshly connected to the www? or have you only just put the PSN account on there by any chance? you may need to be logged into (not to psn, just locally)the same user account that owns the gb PSN account for a while and then the folders will appear after a while, sometimes can take 5 minutes for me, possibly longer, a few reboots possibly helps. We are working on a solution for this but at the moment this wont work unless you have the files there to replace unfortunately.

EDIT: ps3mods you could also check your "ar" and "au" folders for more folders. maybe the files would be there to replace. You will need to rename the main xml to match your own. eg: NSXWSV-PN.P3.AR-XMB_COLUMN_MUSIC.xml , and then to see all the download items you would need to use the matching regions user account.

DeViL303 Just reporting an issue: When I try to download a PKG on my 4.46 Rogero Cobra 7.2 I get the error 0x80710a06 (SSL Connect Handshake error, or SSL certificate verification failed)

Could it be related to CER files or maybe the DropBox server is not supported on 4.46?

Hmm, I don't know, thanks for that, that's weird. its not like sony to add support. can you try this xil2 xml https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0qjjeu2omh3ezd/NSXWSV-PN.P3.xx-XMB_COLUMN_MUSIC.zip?dl=0 (rename xx to your own region)

Ive made the links http instead of https..not sure if it will help.

You spotted that one quick. :) There was a small issue with that file so I pulled it, aldostools has updated it now and the new version of XMBPD will have it included and working.

In future versions if this happen I will just be able to swap the file and the user can just download the new version from within XMBPD.

Nice one. Looking forward to the update.

Was SSL the problem then?

Not sure, aldo might be able to try again later or will have to wait for another 4.46 user to find out. I think it should be that so Im not gonna downgrade just yet.

SSL is such a pain with the PS3 browser. Pot luck whenever you want to access htpps.

Thanks, they did appear. After I had copied all the files over and exited rebug toolbox i tried using the downloader but when i select Homebrew Package Downloader nothing comes up. The only time it came up was something was when it came up with spotify but that doesn't appear anymore. I tried using it on all my accounts but have had no luck. Any ideas? Thanks

Im not sure, you could you upload a copy of your xil2 folder (pm me a link )and and ill have a look.

Basically once you have Spotify there, all you need to do is replace the 3 files individually. but Spotify needs to be there first and then you need to be using the same account that could see Spotify.

I can't pm :/ Is there anywhere else i could send you it?

you can just upload to a file host and post a link here if you want, there is nothing personal in it. all I really need is your dev_hdd0/tmp/explore/xil2/music/ folder

Can you start fresh with the xil2 files. (All the dev_blind files are ok, and the dev_hdd0/game files are ok). You seem to have too many files in xil2 and it could be messing things up as the db.xml will be wrong.

1. If you just delete your gb folder completely
2. Wait for the gb folder and subfolders to reappear and for Spotify to reappear on your XMB inside hombrew downloader category.
3. Then go in and replace JUST the 3 files, you will need to look into your xil2/music/gb/c/xxxxxxxxxxx separate folders for each one.

normally the NSXWSV-PN.P3.GB-XMB_COLUMN_MUSIC.xml file goes in the first folder, and the first png in the second last folder, and the 2nd png in the last folder. make sure you are replacing files that are already there or this wont work.

hopefully that works for you.

If that still isn't working you then you could try also replace the NSXWSV-PN.P3.GB-XMB_COLUMN_MUSIC.xml file inside dev_hdd0/tmp/xil2/music/gb/t/xxxxxxxxxxxxx/ folder (only if thereis one there already) probably wont make a difference but could help.

Ah, okay. I'll try that. Thanks a lot bro

Just to let you know, this worked. The 2 png's went in the 2nd bottom and bottom folders. Thanks for all your help.

So ive done some testing on 4.46 and 4.65 CFW , and it seems to not work here either no matter what I do :( . Bog standard installs of Rogero 4.46/Rebug 4.65 with no mods, same error as you even using http links. We had a confirmed report of it working on 4.75 so from this we can deduce that either $ony changed something between 4.65/.75 or a new CFW patch was added between 4.65/.75 that allows this. Im not sure.

Anyway looks like this is not working on any FW up to and inc 4.65. Im going to edit my original post now..

There was a change in 4.66 firmware to eliminate "Poodle" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POODLE) vulnerability, side effect was that spoofers and iirc IDPS stealer (or maybe idps stealer was blocked on 4.70?) stop working. So in 4.66 you can find some new cer files, and some changes to vsh (maybe not only).

As a start, you can check that adding .Cer files help there. If no, then try edit vsh (offsets are in my spoof tut here on psx-place). I'm not sure how $ony reacted to poodle, but probably by just turning of ssl 3.0 like other. But i can be wrong here.

Thanks for suggestions, That all sounds good and all but its a bit over my head, and im busy enough with the stuff I know :) Maybe someone else will be bothered to do those things, Not sure if its worth people modding old FW that much just for this anyway, If they really really want to use it they can upgrade to 4.75+.

EDIT: I would have expected any changes sony made to the FW since 4.65 to have broken things,(ie. increased security), but it seems in this case the changes have allowed something to work, which is strange.
