To the people using this to install applications, Please do some research on the application first, Some of these applications can damage your PS3 if not used correctly, For example fan control and enabling flash write access come to mind. So please remember this is just a method of downloading the applications and only you are responsible for what you do to your PS3.

We could pick out some favourites for starters, adding 60 pkgs will take me a while, I need to make up an xml entry like this for each pkg, after extracting and resizing and uploading icons and backgrounds for each one. I wish it was as easy as adding the themes. The theme xml can be generated automatically easily from a folder of files.

Try this:
http://aldostools.org/temp/test/XML_Generator_for_XMBPD.exe

It expects the pkg files and images like this:
My Shared File.pkg
My Shared File.png <- if it does not exist will use default.png
My Shared File_bg.png <- if it does not exist will use default_bg.png

It was a quick tool made in 30 mins... so don't expect much of it ;)

Wow, that really great, getting the content IDs added and titles and all will save me so much time. Thanks again.

Oh, Well that saves me a load of work.

Still needs a PSN account, If you can get one onto your PS3 then it will work. I have found that after a format I can just copy my xregistry.sys file back over and this works.

Not to be a shameless self promotion but you might want to add my Cobra PSP launchers. They help amd aid in compatibility as I have flags sets amd the cfg file slightly different then the two you have posted.

Just added 24 retro games (I didnt add proper icons for them so they just show the emulator icon for now, might get around to adding proper icons) and PSP ISO Launcher [Remaster MOD by atreyu187] , thanks @aldostools , @Phil and @atreyu187.

Hit the refresh pkg lists button to see them.

I will be sorting the emulators and games category differently eventually, with headers for each type of sub category, emulators, homebrew games, etc.

atreyu187: I could only see one PSP launcher on brewology credited to you, is there another aswell?

aldostools: hate to bother you when you've helped so much already, but would it be possible to add a tickbox option in your XMBPD xml generator to invert the filelist alphabetically ? the reason I ask is the PS3 always reads 2 of the xil xmls from bottom to top, I don't know why. (also, not so important but there is a small typo in the jp country entry)

Up to now I had only included 2 of the PSP launchers, the 2 with "fixed" in the titles, which made me assume the others were "broken".. :) Now Ive included atreyu187's aswell.

The purpose of each PSP Launcher is explained in the "Release Notes" tab.
  • PSP Launchers Fixed by the PS3 developer jjkkyu is a set of Cobra PSP ISO launchers in PSP MINIS and PSP Remasters modes with added support for adhoc party and right analog stick support.

  • PSP Remaster Launcher by butnut are two modified versions of PSP Remaster Launcher by jjkkyu with 3D enabled. One is exactly the same as jjkkyu's, the other has that Japanese language AD-HOC menu disabled.

Once you run the PSP game you will need to press the PS button and scroll over to Settings/Game Settings and you should see some new options including 3D listed there.

These packages can be used even if you do not have a 3DTV but of course your games will be displayed in 2D only.

  • About PSP ISO Launcher [Remaster MOD by atreyu187]:
"It isn't complete and really should only be used to test on other games with black screen. Until I sort out the additional MINIS2.EDAT & MINIS2.TXT I am afraid Remasters support will not be fully enabled. This has broken a few games for me but also helped me run four previously non-working games as well."

The original ones he put out were broken. Thsts why it was tagged fixed. But they can be tweaked a bit to change certain features. Fixes some while breaking others. I actually have quiet a few installed as we can edit the emulators a little this way. Much easier per game ina pkg then having multiple launchers but really only prefrences.

Also I have a ton of RetroXMB pkg files I am uploading. Some translations, some rom hacks, some jist good games. All have icons, at3 and pmf video to make them look legit as well. What is the size limit if any? As some are Sega CD or PCECD games.

Cool, Im having problems with getting the server to serve pkgs to the PS3, its only serving the pics and xmls and themes properly so far. if I add pkg links they just don't work, its a right pain because every dropbox link is different. For example this link works on the PS3 = https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/zgjfp6hx6na0u5u/Donkey_Kong_Country.pkg , this one doesn't = http.....files.php?file=Donkey_Kong_Country.pkg (edit: problem fixed, removed link, thanks kosarovv)

So for now im still using dropbox pro for the pkgs until I can get this sorted. Theres a 1TB limit though so should be fine to add some bigger packages.

Why you using: Removed //kozarovv

Instead of that one? Removed //kozarovv

Cos im an idiot and that's what I thought I had to use..that works.. Thanks. Before when I did that it was trying to render the whole file in the webbrowser instead of downloading it, but theres been other changes made since that.

Edit: so over 100 packages available now plus over 900 themes, and ive moved all packages to the server, thanks @kozarovv for the tip on my wrong links.

Ive released a small update, The changes to XMBPD are only small:
  • Removed a few unwanted files from the themes downloader.
  • Tidied up the titles in the themes downloader by removing the file extension.

The main difference is the installer now includes WebMAN Launchpad, The reason for this is that these 2 apps would otherwise be incompatible with each other as they both replace the same files and need the hash's doing differently if they are both installed or if just either one is installed. So Im going to group these 2 apps together from now on. Anyone who has this already installed can install XMBPD v0.31 over v0.30. or install XMBPD v0.31 and WebMAN Launchpad.

Either version can of course be used to revert to Rebug 4.80 standard XMB.

DOWNLOAD XMBPD v0.31 (and WebMAN Launchpad v0.11) Installer.

I am on rebug 4.80 and I have cfw settings enabled and im in cobra mode and have webman enabled however when I intall the new dual installer only xmbpd works and webman pad launcher just shows a bunch of icons that just have the title ps3 game and not something like ps3 or ps2 or psp or anything like its supposed to?? Am I doing something wrong??

Hi, This is an old XMBPD thread from May, please try the latest versions of launchpad/XMBPD for the best compatibility and features.

The dual installer is old now.

You can get the latest XMBM+/XMBPD here DOWNLOAD

And get the latest Webman Launchpad here DOWNLOAD

Note: You also need to be on the latest FULL version of Webman MOD for these mods to work fully. It's important that it's the FULL version, and it's important it's a new build of 1.45.01 which you can get here DOWNLOAD
