  • NEW LOOK OF XMB;

From this version, the FERROX takes a new look.
Ideas realized by dear MiZiO90, who worked to make the coolest FERROX CFW around!
    It is not a theme.

    It is some internal changes.
Changes were introduced to 'clock, the horizontal lines in the screens, in colored lettering, to' Full Banner at the top right, in the section 'System Upgrade', to the menu screen that appears when holding down the PS button, and a new logo FERROX pulsing during uploads.

    A large lavorone!

You want to see the screen?
Open the spoiler to make a 'better idea of the new look !!

    333.png 222.png image.png

Combined with the new Look with your theme you prefer.
Or maybe combined with a Wave!
It comes out a XMB fear
    cool.png

PS. The Logo FERROX bottom right, is only visible to 1080p resolution.
I think we all still play with the 'HDMI. Then no problem!

  • Tips INSTALLING THE CFW from the developer;
    • Download the CFW at the bottom. Rename the File .pup exactly: PS3UPDAT.PUP and confrontatene the 'MD5 with what you find at the bottom! You can use the Tool md5sums.
    • Take a USB FAT32 formatted, and create a new folder called PS3, inside this create another 'other still called UPDATE, and inside latter' inseriteci the PS3UPDAT.PUP File, which would be the custom firmware.
    • Insert the USB in the far right of the PS3 port.
    • Be sure to: Remove any disc from the player Ps3, Remove any games loaded with any Manager, Disable Internet Connection.
    • Ok. You can choose to install the CFW from the XMB or from Recovery.
    • On the XMB will just go into 'Settings' column, then 'System Upgrade' and choose 'With storage media'. Select the CFW and will start the process.
    • To enter Recovery Instead, turn off the console. Turn it back on by holding down the Power button until the console is turned off again. Now turn it back on by holding down the Power button until you hear two beeps very close. Then release the Power button! Recovery time from the menu, select 'System Update' and follow the instructions.
    • For a clean installation, you can install 2 times the CFW. You can also go back into Recovery and click Options for Rebuilding the Database and Restore the System File. So you'll have a setup more than clean and safe.

syscalls still being disabled is not normal. I only use sen enabler when transferring vita games. I've never had this problem. the problem with sen enabler on my part is that it messes up alphabetizing dlc. a normal, unmodified category_game.xml is what is replaced.
First I reboot the PS3 as you said, then I enter at Sen Enabler is i put CFW FULL. So i went back to XMB.
I went back to the SEN and went to see if the CFW was enabled, then he said that syscalls was disabled in mode Full CFW.

Guess I'll have to reinstall CFW again or change the Category.
The options Cobra are enabled,
everything is normal, the less the Package Manager which has been replaced by the Install Package Files.
When i enter in the Sen and active CFW Full he agree, but when I go back to XMB and restart the PS3, the Package Manager does not return.
Problem is that probably Sen Enabler isn't making copy of your files when enabling OFW mode. Is just using common files to re-enable cfw mode. But now cfw developers are using a lot of mods like package manager, etc. And sen enabler is now just outdated to work with them all.

There is no solution for that until @Evilnat add some detection or backup option for that kind of cfw.

@ricardo
Don't worry about the Package Manager that is easy to fix.... The original category_game.xml is easily extracted from the pup file. You can then replace the currently used xml file with the original one. Problem solved.

As @kozarovv mentioned it's a common problem, ideally the xml should get parsed & modified, the modifications should be logged so they can be reversed. Original file could be backed up too as last resort to be restored if need be..
Instead the xml files are replaced with a standard file & you end up with this kind of problem, losing xmb entries and/or mods like alphabetical order....

To me everything makes sense here but the syscalls....
Are you sure they are still disabled? Can you mount a game? Start a backup manager without error message....?
They will have been logically disabled when you applied OFW mode but as soon as you applied Full CFW, syscalls should have been fully restored...

@Alexander I am having issues with your firmware running on my CECHB-01 PS3 playing PS2 games when I press the PS button none of the options show up to exit and when I finally did I got an error upon exit. I didn't get the 8000 error but next time I try I will write it down as it may help. Haven't tested on my slim in PS2 mode.

I think his problem with pkg manager is that SEN Enabler reads this as a standard CFW and not REBUG therefore no Pkg Manager

Yeah something like that. It's a bug with SEN anyway.
What one could do is always keep a copy of the original category_game.xml with a different extension in the /dev_flash folder, it's small enough to fit without problems & one can manually repair the situation with a delete file/copy from backup/rename copy to category_game.xml.. Using ftp would take 1mn.
Not ideal don't get me wrong... [emoji6]

@Evilnat you may be interested by this issue?

If you can give me the error, let's see what we can do. He gave you many times this error, or only once? I have now finished 1.01 with correct support for PSP. As soon as I have some time, I compile and release.

@Alexander I can only see the X & O buttons and lines when I press PS button in PS2 game, disc or from HDD. I havent tested Classics. There is no fonts but when I press down four times and exit it gives three beeps then forces back to XMB. I will show you this evening upon my return home.

@Alexander the error code is 80028F17 when it exits and crashes back to XMB.
What is being used atm in your setup? Cobra ps2emu?
Joonie said recently that Cobra 7.3 should detect & use the correct ps2 mode.
He also added that there's no point in using the original ps2emu because it breaks up Cobra & iso support...

Looking at the tool box it says I am using the Cobra mode. I am mounting ISO files through webman I haven't tried any physical disc since updating firmware yet just quickly loaded up again and exited out to grab this error code for him

Have you checked the files manually with a manager or ftp? Are all ps2emu files Cobra builds?

WebMAN-MOD is perfect to test ps2 iso support with Cobra. No problem there.

Testing a disc would be interesting...

strange error. it could be the clock mod. I've done most other mods and never had an issue with ps2 mode on rebug. does the error occur with ps1 games? the system pulls icons and whatnot from the vram in ps1 mode.

Ok guys I nailed the issue it is an RCO causing this issue. Now to the weird part this doesn't exist on NON-BC models only effects BC models. I can only test a full BC as I dobt have a a semi but I am hoping @kozarovv can test as I know he has a semi-BC model. He can use whatever FW he is on he only needs to replace the RCO as I tested on Rebug 4.80.1 it is the impose_plugin.rco causing this issue.

the impose_plugin.rco is what's displayed when u hold down the playstation button to turn the controller or system off. that is a part of mizio's theme.

@pinky yea I know it is part kf the tweak but doesn't exist in PS1 mode, disc or ISO. Doesnt exist on non-BC PS2 but does on full BC disc or ISO and strangely I can't launch Classic at all. Just hangs but I am gonna try a DB rebuild as I know they used to work just havent had the proper time to fully test everything.

it may not be using the vram. if u notice on non-bc systems, mods done to rco files don't exist since the system is using the vram to grab icons instead of using the rco files. I think that's due to the appldr using rco files while the isoldr is what's used for the ps1 and ps2 emulator. I'm not sure y it doesn't work correctly with bc systems.
