    UPDATE v1.01 & v1.01+

After considering the reports of some users, alexander updated version 1.01. Console on some fact was not syncing the controller to 'start, if you turn on the console via the Wireless Controller in the same mode. In fact, using the cable, or turning on with POWER button, the problem would not show up. Well, the problem was solved. This problem had previously seen on some firmware. The problem was in the TAR. On the advice of Developer Habib, and Evilnat collaboration, here we give the revision 1.01+

    CHANGELOG v1.01 +
    • Fixed the Controller to sync Boot via the Wireless Controller for PS button.
    • Fixed XMB InGame.

We thank the users and developer who helped Test. If you aiutassimo more often at each other in the PS3 scene, between Developer and Tester, it would be a different story. Special thanks to Atreyu and Kozárov by PSX-Place site, for testing on older FAT Console. A big thank you also to our @mizio90 for the 'Installer. It must be said that the new version of the CFW was ready already for a while, but I did make late because of the 'Installer
Thanks Habib and Evilnat for your cooperation to fixed the Controller's question.

@pinky depression is a psychological disorder that can be very dangerous (negative thoughts and rumination can cause effects like excessive anger, anxiety, panic or even can induce you to commit suicide in severe cases). You should try to get help from a professional, but the first step for treatment is in yourself (changing your lifestyle).

Read information about treatments and practice some sport (alone or with someone), these usually help.

Medication and drugs do not treat depression, merely the symptoms.

Sorry for the off-topic.

thank u for this. I got so wasted last night that I didn't sleep but two hours nor eat dinner. I just woke up from a nap actually, and I feel much better now. I've lost almost everything these past few months, so I cope by drinking. that in turn leads to those Mr. Hyde moments as @atreyu187 mentioned to me once. I'm very sorry about all that. I do apologize to the community and to anyone whom I've offended by my actions. I love u guys, so I wouldn't want to do anything to hurt this community. back on topic. :)

Onya pinky. Hope things take a positive turn for you. :)

Back on topic I've been getting a lot of this on ferrox 1.01+ / webmanmod 1.45.02 (+20) / psnpatch. CECHL PAL system.

Just tried rebuilding database etc. But no luck.

First time I just loaded an ISO, scrolled across the XMB and she blacked out.

Next time I'd just quit retroarch after playing a NES game and got it again.

Pressing the PS button will reboot fine. Will try a reflash later and see if it clears up.

Thanks for the report.

However am not sure what to tell you...

In regular situations, I would suggest to begin by reinstalling the CFW, then maybe disabling the plugins and Cobra & using Irisman or whatever for a while to see if you are still getting those regular crashes. If ever none of that worked, look at other things..

But here you are using a freshly released CFW. A few days old... There could be an issue with it, we will soon know if it's the case. But it could also be your setup... even your hdd or your console...

Yeah, just hit start + select and let it reload the cfw. Then reinstalled psnpatch and latest webman.

See how she goes. Was just putting it out there to see if anyone had similar issues or if my CECHL is just being a fussy prick as usual. ;)

I did previously have petitboot and Linux setup on rebug, so not sure if that could of been affecting the way it boots.

Hello, i when from firmware OFW 3.05 TO this CFW 4.81 v1.01+ and i see the logo at the start and under Game i see */app_home/PS3_GAME and *Package Manager, i go in to this one and see 8Install Package Files, but i can get any pkg file to show up from the SD card. can i get some help, i have an 2g sd card in FAT32 and the PKG's or in the root. still cant see them.

Apparently, it seems that the package manager, it is not bearing the SD destination.
In order to install from SD must add this string in the category xml game (version 1.01+)

line : 829

HTML:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_sd" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_sd/packages&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />

line 869 :

HTML:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_sd"   src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_sd&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />

line 959:

HTML:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_sd"   src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_sd/packages&suffix=.pkg" />

e line 998

HTML:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_sd"  src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_sd&suffix=.pkg" />

Currently I'm at work and I am unable to create and upload the xml file. If someone can do it for me, I'd be grateful.

Hi guys can someone help me with a question im trying to find out of i upgrade from Rebug 4.80 to this 4.81 ferrox cobra will i still be able to use Rebug tool box? im a noob at modding so i want to make sure i know/do everything right before making my moves. I liked Rebug toolbox because it had Ps2 Emulator & webman already installed, will Ferrox Cobra have these features installed too?

Unless you intend to use PSN & are worried about firmware spoofing due to the new certificate, there is absolutely no real reason to update to 4.81. There are no new features, only Irisman & webMAN-MOD have been updated for 4.81 & all 4.81 CFW have seen quite a few issues so far...
Still it's up to you if you want to try the latest Ferrox Cobra 4.81 v1.01+ update in which the first 4.81 bugs have been corrected. Curiosity is encouraged in this forum. [emoji6]

To answer your questions, most of the features in the Rebug Toolbox are for Rebug CFW only to begin with. Trying to use them on another CFW & different CFW version will not work. Only a handful of features may work but not the ones you are interested in.

Ps2 emulator support is Cobra's job so if you use Ferrox Cobra, it will be included. The level of support will be identical to Rebug on paper as the same Cobra 7.3 core features have been brought over to Ferrox without modifications.
Also FYI webMAN-MOD can take care of some ps2 toggling. Look at the combo list at the bottom of the setup page, it may be of interest.

WebMAN-MOD will not be installed by default in Ferrox but you just need to use the webMAN-MOD updater pkg from github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/tag/1.45.02 as well as prepNTFS if you use it.
More information can be found in the webMAN-MOD General Information thread.

Rebug released the source of the Toolbox months ago so maybe in the future we might see Toolboxes for other CFW if the makers feel like adapting it...

Thanks for information! & yeah i do want play online & eliminate any chances of me getting banned that i can & the new key certificates that i heard about worry me thats why i want to update. Now if Ferrox cobra cannot use Rebug toolbox how would i use QA Flags to downgrade firmware if i happen to not like the new update? Is there a way to access the QA Flags toggle, or do i downgrade through the same simple process as if i were upgrading? Also im not sure if this is true or not thats why im asking, i heard from a video that theres another webman .pkg you need to install to your ps3 before installing the updater. Is this true or is the updater all i need? 1 more request is could you tell me what exactly this "prepNTFS" does? i know nothing about. Again thanks & sorry for being a noob! We've all started somewhere!

Once QA is enabled, it does not get disabled on its own... If you make sure QA is enabled while on Rebug then update to Ferrox, you will still be able to downgrade.

Regarding webMAN-MOD, you got wrong information, if you are on a Cobra CFW, you only need the latest updater pkg. Install it. Then launch the updater icon on the XMB.
I already told you to have a look at wMM General Info thread, all the info needed is in the OP.
Remember that there are various editions of wMM & keeping pressed certain gamepad buttons while launching the updater will decide which version is to be installed.
Keep L1 pressed for Full Edition. Don't press any button for the standard edition.
If you intend to use features like pkg download & installation or the XMBPD mod, you must install the Full Edition.

PrepNTFS is mandatory in order to use a ntfs external hdd with webMAN-MOD.
Iso is the best & recommended way to play games on a Cobra CFW. It's also recommended for playing online.
Isos are large files so they don't fit whole on a fat32 drive & need to be split into several files.
For this reason & for performance, the best storage medium for iso games is a ntfs external drive.

Oh i see, yes i have come across this problem before where i had downloaded a game, but the file was too large to fit on my external harddrive which was FAT32 formatted. I had to split the files to put them on the harddrive then install them in the PS3ISO folder where they magically stringed together back into 1 file haha, but with prepNTFS i could just use a NTFS formatted harddrive which would be great. Is there a toggle to enable or disable prepNTFS, or does it automatically work once installed? Also i know this probably is annoying, but for webman on Rebug there was an option to turn it on & off in the toolbox, how would i be able to disable/enable it on non Rebug cfw's like Ferrox Cobra? And could you send me a link to a thread on the information of webman? i dont know which site to go on. So far you have been my best help and thank you for that. Again sorry for being a noob, its just that Rebug's features was so good to alot of people & i want to make sure i know how to use them on other cfw's & dont want to make decisions recklessly that ill regret.

There isn't a toggle to enable/disable prepNTFS on any CFW.
Just run the prepNTFS from the XMB and it will scan your External NTFS HDD.

No there is no Toggle. No special settings or changes to make.
Just an app called prepNTFS which scans the contents of ntfs drives & creates shortcuts to games it finds in the /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp folder. Those shortcuts are then recognised by webMAN-MOD which will add them in its games list.
Those shortcuts will remain in the folder so you don't need to use prepNTFS again unless you add or remove games on the ntfs drive.

You should note that Irisman, Managunz or mmCM will not need prepNTFS which is only for webMAN-MOD. Those backup managers can already list & mount games based on ntfs.

Yeah crazy easy. Tested NTFS on a flash drive last night. Just Run prepntfs when you insert or remove an NTFS drive and webman is updated with the correct games.

Irisman was great for copying images from NTFS drive to internal and vice versa.

Irisman (and forks) is by far the best ps3 file manager for ntfs imho.
I would love to get the same level of support in Managunz file manager though. That would change things.
Multiman uses a PFS driver which isn't working very well, few drives are recognised. I doubt it changes due to the same problem of library compatibility as webMAN-MOD, between all cellsdk projects & libntfs.

All web commands can be used in the custom combo.
In this format for in-game
GET browser.ps3$ingame_screenshot
Or in xmb
GET browser.ps3$screenshot

Here is the list of commands.
http://www.psx-place.com/index.php?threads/1508/

Btw for info there is the custom combo r2+[] which can be set in the wMM setup page or manually by editing the file in /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp folder but all combos can actually be customised. Look at "custom" tab related to this on the thread linked above.

Ok not seeing anything but PNG, SFO files and last games bin/xml what do I need to do to customize all webMAN combos? I don't use so many of them. And I would need to learn to compile PS3 stuff in order to have my custom combos show up in the settings wouldn't I?

For your other customised combos to show in settings instead of the original setting, you would need to modify the source & recompile.
I was originally thinking about the R2+[] which can be defined in the setup page.
I did not realise you wanted to customise others using the /dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_combo folder.
To customise existing combos, you need to create appropriately named files in the folder mentioned above & edit those to add the wMM web command string you wish to use instead.
Check the wMM web commands list thread. Combos are explained there including custom combos.

In this folder

Code:
/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_combo

I made a txt file named and removed the extension

Code:
wm_custom_r2_cross

It reads as like this as I have R2+[] being XMB screen shot and trying to make R2+X In Game Screenshot

Code:
GET browser.ps3$ingame_screenshot

Will this work? I don't care if it shows up I just need it to work so I can have both in game and XMB screen shots for a series of guides I am writing up as the cell phone method sucks and I can't record from my PC.

This will work just fine.
In fact I will edit my previous post because it should be
Code:
GET /browser.ps3$ingame_screenshot
with a forward slash.
