@Joonie turns out TempMON doesn't work on Espresso stating unsupported FW and I assume it is due missing syscalls etc. And since it is based off Estwald's Control Fan Utility which hasn't been updated to 4.81 it would be pointless for me to add support. Or do you think it may work? Or any other idea of how to boost the fan speed? I don't mind an app as I know plugins aren't gonna happen as it would defeat the purpose for this. I was wondering if you had any idea which app may work that would grant me control over the fan using this FW? I tested my "stealthed" TempMON based off EU Youtube which worked while on 4.81 Rebug but once I switched back to Espresso it was a no go. Not sure why but my slim runs so darn warm especially for a 2500 model and using new thermal paste.
Have you tried repasting with gelid gc extreme yet? I started with as5, then switched to mx4 for ease, found both to have lower lifespans than i'd like. Switched to the gelid and it was a much better paste, lasted longer and kept at least 3-4c cooler than as5. Just a thought to help.![]()
I do have plans which i will apply to this as soon as im back from vacations
But unfortunately lv2 poke is needed which I wanted to avoid to add -.-
I would use the Grizzly Hydronaut, works well at high temperatures (that our PS3 manage to reach easily).
It is definitely the best thermal paste on the market.
Lol i was planning to disable hombrew booting as wellLV2 can be poked through LV1... cobra/wMM already does it when PS3MAPI_OPCODE_LV2_POKE is used:
case PS3MAPI_OPCODE_LV2_POKE:
lv1_poked(param2+0x8000000ULL, param3);
return 0;
It would be interesting if Cobra or this CFW could install CFW syscalls through a flag detected on boot.
For instance, it could start with the CFW syscalls disabled if the folder "/dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME" is found on boot and enable the syscalls if the folder is not found... In other words: the CFW syscalls would be disabled if the system is booted with a physical disc inserted.
Anyway this is just an idea for your consideration...
@Joonie wanted your opinion before doing this. I want to replace the RCO PSN files on this MFW to make it red since I am using @Berion Rebugfication theme. I don't think it would make it any less safe but wanted to get your opinion on this. Also which RCO is it exactly to replace it under the network category? And if this is deemed "safe" would changing the icons in the qgl folders ok as well? I don't want any CFW abilities other then Movian but I have been thinking of modding the FW so it doesn't look so bland. I simply love this MFW now that I have the EZ Chill fan control mod installed. After thermal paste reapply it stays about 62 degrees Celsius
I was looking at some of the icons of this firmware and i thought that they need a few improvements, so i did improved them as well as created some "new" ones, like these for example:

So this is the list of all the changes/additions i made.
- explore_category_psn.rco
- tex_Sign_In.gim (This is a new icon and it's the psn login icon. On 4.70.1 the same icon is used for both psn signup and login)
- tex_Signing_In.gim (This is also a new icon)
- tex_psn.gim (The one included in rebug 4.70.1 is 48x48 while the OFW icon is 46x46 so i made a new rebug red 46x46 icon based on the original one)
- item_tex_ps_store.gim (Remade the icon to remove those green pixels around the bag handles or whatever they are called)
- explore_category_game.rco
- item_tex_ps_store.gim (Remade the icon to remove those green pixels around the bag handles or whatever they are called)
- explore_plugin_full
- tex_Sign_In.gim (This is the non-ingame version of the one from explore_category_psn.rco)
- tex_Signing_In.gim (This is the non-ingame version of the one from explore_category_psn.rco)
- item_tex_online_storage.gim (A little bit less pixellated and more centered icon)
- tex_psn_big.gim (A little bit less pixellated and also removed a bluish pixel on the left of the logo)
- tex_psn.gim (The one included in rebug 4.70.1 is 48x48 while the OFW icon is 46x46 so i made a new rebug red 46x46 icon based on the original one)
- tex_go_store.gim (This is a new icon, the one from 4.70.1 has the blue psn shopping bag)
- Italian.xml (Improved a bit the package manager italian translation)
- xmb_ingame.rco
- tex_psn.gim (Removed a bluish pixel on the left of the logo)
- npsignin_plugin.rco
- tex_category_psn.gim (Removed a bluish pixel on the left of the logo)
Also i've made a coldboot from the Rebug scorpion logo and i think it looks way better than the default one.

There might be other icons to fix, Joonie, do you know if i have missed something?
@atreyu187 I didn't transfer back any rco "hand made" yet so I don't know. XMBMP2K17 and Phalaris Nebula/Shell (and damn, I didn't win ;p) lure me from it a little. So still it's before me.
