PS3 4.83 CFW / Homebrew Apps / Plugins / Tools updated for 4.83

Ok, i was not discussing louay release, just talking in general incase other people is reading us and trying to imagine what is right or wrong to be posted in the forum

My point is if are given proper credits and releases are given unique names, then there is no confussion posible, is fair play and the users will be benefited because there will be more interaction and more releases

is it really fair for a CFW dev's work to be used and just things like a coldboot and XMB wave added/changed or a minor XMB mod added. and then has a new name?

Simple if you can not create CFW of your own, you do not need to edit CFW and put your name on it. Rather release the add-on as standalone's. If the content can be added after the CFW install then that is when it should be added if your wanting to change things.

It is up to you. If you toggle the QA flag in Rebug Toolbox you can move up and down to whatever CFW version you wish. Updating to 4.83 is an incentive for those who want PSN access for online multiplayer and the like, though I believe you can spoof in REX 4.82.2 already but I am not 100% on that. Essentially, the only reason to update to 4.83 CFW is for PSN access without needing to spoof on 4.82. If you don't use PSN services, then by all means stay on 4.82 Rebug.

No, but im not saying to change the name only
Im saying to change the name and mentioning very explicitelly which work from other people was used

Is not just to change the coldboot, but still, there could be some modifyed cfw (even with minor changes) that could be handy to have in pup format for easy installations
 
i see that i made a fault when i post the link and youtube video you say i post it for views and likes an tatatatata no i have no antention with that and you say cfw work of devs ok i say yes and anyone can create a cfw so i will not post any pup anymore i will make my own and use them and littlebalup say i use his coreOS file of all the files i just get lv0 file so if littlebalup was in my place and download my work and unpack him and use my file i will not say he uses my files or file and this is all my work :)

That is assumption of my own (which i can be wrong) about views for you YT.
The issue with the DB is that you added things that an Official Firmware would not have, thus defeats it purpose and original concept.

You may and even other's feel i may be harsh on you a bit and that is fair, but also this follows a pattern from many who have cloned firmwares, so that is why we are cautious. Sometimes its just someone who does not know and trying to learn which may be yourself or it has been people that has took others stuff hoping others would not notice.. You may of had the best intentions with these releases and did not not intend to mislead. but you have been asking me to promote these releases (so your asking for it to be critiqued) and i am telling why i would not add it to the list/news...
 
yes i know i just want a firmware with edited icons to feel like CFW and no LV0-1-2 patches or VSH for that reason i create the firmware i don't think s$ny will ban users for a coldboot,wave or icons , and littlebalup says extactly he uses my files (file" s ") i repeat again i just get lv0 files cuz my teensy is on the way to tunisia i get for people to not lose their CFW hope you understand me and for that reason i told every time in any post to link to main page :wink new::wink new:

You make great points there and i would agree, but where i pause is i know this is abused and taken advantage of..

So the best thing for a community is to take the approach that is you can add it safetly and easy after the CFW install things shoiuld be left there and a urge to the developer of the CFW to maybe make an update to support such mods (or maybe even an update PUP from the dev). In a perfect world i think that would be best approach.. but one man's opinion.

In all due fairness, getting another exploit may never come.. getting stuff past the hypervisor is not a simple task... I don't expect a patch any time soon. I even broke down and picked up an old fat, just so I could get back up and running.... I myself had an "accident" , actually I was lazy and wasn't paying attention during a hard drive upgrade and pulled the wrong update down.. for my new fat, I now have my own repository.. won't be making that dam mistake again ..

No improvements, new certs only allow to decrypt data encrypted with them.
For instance, new certs will give you access to playing the latest BD video releases for another year.

You don't know whether s#ny can ban you for a coldboot, waves & icons for starters, that is just an assumption of yours!
The principle of DB fw is NOT to change any system file that does not need it, it should be an OFW with only minimum patching to keep CFWs installable.
So your fw is not a DB fw anyway afaik.

I don't understand your explanation about reusing files from littlebalup because you are waiting for a flasher. Having a flasher would change what exactly?

its ok being cautios with new CFWs. even devs with big name can fail to build a CFW.
i myself used a failed dualboot FW and was made by a recognized dev.

even was posted in frontpage, @STLcardsWS of course knows about this and that thread was removed from frontpage, but the dev answered my questions even tried to pay me for the mistake, (which i did not take), because in the end is the user who decide which CFW to use.

even i can repack a CFW with another coldboot, gameboot, icons and wave (because is not even hard) and call it with my name. anyways i have an E3 flasher... :biggrin2:

Waiying for flasher or peaople who lose their cfw to reflash them so i pick lv0 of littlebalup to keep cfw installble

Thanks. I assumed it had to do with newer Blu-ray releases but wasn't sure. I suppose if I encounter any issues with BD releases in the future, I'll upgrade to 4.83.
 
@Louay , you should create a pkg with your mods or use the app (can't think of its name) by @bitsbubba and a few others that allows you to add mod packs to it in the form of a pkg. you can essentially make it your own. that will remove the need to install a pup with these addons. however, I do like a unique coldboot, 'cause it's always nice to know that the firmware successfully installed and that you didn't somehow install ofw. :-P

As you know, given the nature of a DB fw, there can be only be one per fw revision because the required patching is standard anyway.

My understanding is that this project is a repack of the already released 4.83 DB fw with changes that arguably defeat the purpose of using a DB fw.

And imho, releasing such a fw is not a problem as long as the situation is clearly explained to potential users so they can make an informed choice.
