Well, I screwed up. I did a hard drive replacement last night on my fat that was running 4.82 custom firmware. During the hard drive upgrade it asked for the stock firmware and I was not aware that Sony pushed 4.83. Like an idiot I got the new hard drive up on 4.83 but now I'm in the ditch. Here is my question, when the official Ferox comes out for 4.83 can I just load that, or do I have to go through that whole flash process again.. I'm willing to wait for the official custom 4.83 , just wanted to know how much damage I did .

As of right now you're going to need a hardware flasher to reinstall CFW, no other way sorry.

Ferrox 4.83 has been available for over two weeks now, but unfortunately the exploit will not work on custom firmware, or even official 4.83 as Sony patched PS3Xploit in the update. Your only hope is either getting a hardware flasher (such as Teensy++ or E3) as bitsbubba already mentioned, or wait and see if an exploit on 4.83 official is found by the PS3Xploit team.

Regarding the latter option; I would not depend on it any time soon, as it's not guaranteed that another software solution will even be found on 4.83. Unfortunately, there's no other option aside from those two mentioned.
 
i am using ps3 super slim cech 4003a.is there any way to run hombrew apps like webman or multiman or any kind of this software.

and can i know approximately how much time can ps3 exploit v4.0 can take beacause i accidently updated to 4.83 and i am wailting for the exploit pl someone help me

1- Nope, you can't. And every video on youtube tells you that you can. It's 100℅ clickbait

2- I don't think so, be patient

As one of the exploits got patched.
So the developers may need to find a new one > exploit it > see the results..

And maybe they won't find an exploit ;)

hello, sir satvick here I had modded my ps3 super slim(4.82) and now a few months ago there is a new update which is --4.83--... I was using HAN ps3 exploit to mod my ps3 ..... I have a dout in my mind there are so many different types of mods like ps3 cfw, ps3 ofw, ps3 exploit, ps3 cobra etc.. what are these different mods I cannot understand this thing and many mods won't work

I'd suggest installing cfw through update debug. it's much easier to keep track of firmware versions. and, you shouldn't encounter that update problem via the recovery menu. update debug is a part of qa flagging, so it'll be present on any firmware as long as you have qa flagging enabled.

hello to all I bought a ps3 slim that has software 4.81 help me please do not know how to do the jailbreack ..... what do you recommend to do? if you please link me a tutorial or something like that
 
Hi guys.

I have a PS3 Slim with 4.82, when I bought it, it came with 3.55 and I had CFW on it but at the time I gave up on it since I wanted to play online.
Right now I still want to continue using it to play online with my bought games and from what I understood my best option for that while being able to install CFW in the future is to install the dualboot CFW.
From what I read I need to follow the guide here in order to install a CFW. At the end of the guide, it says to install a 4.82 CFW. My question is can I install littlebalup Dualboot CFW at that step or do you guys recommend I install a 4.82 CFW (since it's in the guide I'll probably install Rebug)?

I wouldn't take it personally. it's just being cautious. there was a time when several unknown people were releasing cfw by using mfw and giving it a different coldboot and/or wave. mfw is okay, as long as you know how to use it properly. other people even resorted to splicing together files from different firmwares. that's why habib put a watermark in his.
 
no i talk about it period ago i didn't use mfw only i unpack the pup with PUAD and hex the files the repack it
