Are you sure? ... I didn't realize it ... I think if this was really present, sandungas had already found it.What's i think interesting about 2.XX XMB are the days'hours are linked with the coldboot. For example, if they are 8:00 PM o'clock, the system shows it on coldboot, the color matching of the XMB when the xmb loads. When the dark wave show up on coldboot with Sony Computer Entertainment logo was been incrible.

Yes, I'm sure. After firmware 3.00 the coldboot appears light on the screen, after the XMB is loaded it darkens with the clock. I will look for one and post on the topicAre you sure? ... I didn't realize it ... I think if this was really present, sandungas had already found it.

I thought the system already identifies the time before loading it. but on second thought this has no logic because the system only looks for times when and shows your settings when loading xmb. It is interesting that he knows what month we are in because the color appears on the coldboot according to the month. I'm confused ... anyway. someone with firmare 2.XX to clarify this doubt?Off topic: But what were Sony thinking using "Original" and "Classic" as names for the 2 modes, like WTF, they both mean the same thing!![]()
It depends on the time I think, and the users settings. After 3.00 the time/month colour changing stuff is applied to the coldboot sequence, regardless of the user settings. Then as the XMB loads it changes over to user settings, So sometimes it might look like its lighter for the coldboot sequence than the user settings, sometimes darker.
Yes that is what I mean, it does identify the time/month first, the monthly colour appears on the coldboot, even if you have a static colour set on your user settings. Before 3.00 it did not do that.I thought the system already identifies the time before loading it. but on second thought this has no logic because the system only looks for times when and shows your settings when loading xmb. Yeah, your right, That was normal back then though before 3.00, no change from coldboot to XMB, Its only now that we get the change to user settings when the XMB loads.
See this. At second startup the coldboot starts with dark brown ( because he is recording at night) and continues so in xmb. Or i'm getting crazy?! Loll

Well well ... now I'm confused ... in psdevwiki says that the background color only changes according to the date and time from firmware 3.00 .. but now I see that in version 2.00 or earlier already had this?...what ?

Yeah, your right.I do not think he below the background brightness ... because if he did it would not only darken on the top..but the whole screen ... I think the only change from 3.00 was the addition of sparkles.
That's right buddyJust those start up sparkles now, I never got chance to have a look at them, will see what I can do. You basically want no sparkles at all anywhere?
XMB color schemes
The XMB's default background color changes depending on the current month of the year, and it changes brightness depending on the time of day. Major color changes occur on the three days before the 15th and 24th of each month, while the color gradually changes between those dates.
System software version 1.90, released July 23, 2007, allows users to change the background of the XMB to display any image saved on the console's hard disk drive. Firmware 2.00 added the ability to select the background color of the XMB (from the same choice as the PSP), and the brightness of the XMB background. The same update also added extra font choices, and the ability to use custom themes that change the icons, wallpaper, color, font, and, in some cases, the sound effects. With the release of firmware 3.00, a 'sparkle' effect has been added to the XMB background (there is a "Classic" theme that doesn't have the 'sparkle' effect), and the black theme color has been replaced with a grey theme color, among other revisions.
yea! I remember well in 2009 when I bought ps3. I upgraded to 2.76 and then to 2.80 and already had it. I thought that was very cool. And yes, I'm not sure but I think it gets dark in the coldboot also according to the time.Well well ... now I'm confused ... in psdevwiki says that the background color only changes according to the date and time from firmware 3.00 .. but now I see that in version 2.00 or earlier already had this?...what ?
So all that remains is to remove the sparkles everywhere ... break the color change according to the month ... and allow the system to use the color chosen by the user ... leaving only the color change of background according to the time of day ..... that was how it worked.
