PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

EDIT: Added 4 byte terminator at end...I forget that sometimes now. It's not required anyways, but for convention...

Maybe it would be better to stop adding that zeroes at end. Some configs would become more clear without them. It is interesting why Sony started adding the title ID enforcement in the official PS2 Classics configs, because the first releases did not have it at all. Today we know they are not needed to be there.

Dragon Quest V (SLPM-65555)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0E 00 00 00 88 3F 69 00
00 00 00 00
Fixes characters stuck in cutscene. Interestingly enough, this deals with VU accuracy like Silent Hill 2's missing geometry and not FPU accuracy like almost every other 0x0E/0x0F fix.

EDIT: Added 4 byte terminator at end...I forget that sometimes now. It's not required anyways, but for convention...

does it work in any translated version?

Anyone notice that NARC- US version (SLUS-20730) freezes with a black screen after the first level?

I verified my backup and matches the PS2 redump md5 checksum.

Edit: Actually nm. I tried it again and this time it continued on to the next mission. Weird.

Just want to know if theses have been added in the latest webMAN mod V1.47.37 (if its the latest...?)

SLUS_205.87.DRIV3R
SLES_505.92.THE OPERATIVE No One Lives Forever

Please forgive me as i dont remember how to verify/check that ?
Im getting a tired brain i guess...

EDIT :
QUESTION (1) it is SAFE to apply the webMAN mod V1.47.37 on a Cobra Rebug 4.86.1 Lite ?

QUESTION (2) I see on brewology that the PS2 Config Data Base have been updated 8 days AFTER the WebMAN Mod (4.88) v1.47.37. in this circonstance did the WebMAN mod is not to date par the PS2 Config Data Base or both are updated on the same level ?

I can tell you I'm on 4.86.1 Light Edition. I reverted back to webMAN mod V1.47.36 since webMAN mod V1.47.37 was having issues importing the CONFIG files. May not just be you if you are also having that problem. However the latest CONFIG Pkg is fine. Just delete the old CONFIG package from GAME UTILITY and install the newest found on the brewology site.

Driv3r seems to be still having major issues
&
The Operative seems to be playable (US & PAL)

according to the ps2devwiki list found here: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List

webman is not auto loading config anymore.does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for your feedback.

Currently my time is limited and I can't dedicate time to verify if it's a false positive or not.
If it's confirmed, I can schedule a fix. I would appreciate if other users can confirm this issue in 1.47.37.

I just tested, it's true as @Rafaelrios said

I will need an example of the path of games that you're mounting.
  • You should verify that the files in the PS2CONFIG database exist.
  • If you're mounting PS2 Classics, the standalone package for PS2CONFIG database must be installed (+60MB).
  • The option "Auto CONFIG" found in "Scan for content" of /setup.ps3 must be checked and the settings saved.

I have tested 4 scenarios and they worked as expected using wMM 1.47.37.

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Ace Combat 4 [SLUS-20152].ISO
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Ace Combat 4 (SLUS_201.52).ISO
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Ace Combat 4 [SLUS20152].ISO
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Ace Combat 4 [SLUS_201.52].BIN.ENC

Aldo, maybe there is a CONFIG file in /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO, try deleting it first.

I tried compiling using mount_cobra.h and ps2_classic.h from the Oct 25 commit (https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/commit/8feabebb1ed863317c8d10eae4f739f84d239016) it works correctly.

where is this option?

I already told where is the option: in "Scan for content" of /setup.ps3

You should expand the section. The "Auto CONFIG" is near the PlayStation 2 setting.

No. The folder only has the PS2 ISO before mount the game. After I mounted the game from XMB or through web command, the CONFIG was copied to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO

I compared the files of that commit with current file and it looks your issue is that "Auto CONFIG" in your settings is unchecked:

Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers (SLUS-20715)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 01 00 00 00 80 F5 12 00
13 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 24 F9 12 00 15 00 00 00
23 00 00 00 4A 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
9C 8E 15 00 89 00 40 10 89 00 00 10

Forced 30 fps frame mode to prevent screen flashing caused by frequent switching between the rendering modes. Untested on the PS3.

with your advices i know i will be up to date and i will re-edit all my PS2 iso game like you showed to me

its RARE that i have time to do such a work but im online today and ready to follow your advice
ONCE i will understand how to properly run my PS2 ISO i will be able to answers/help others more accordingly .

@aldostools, would you know how to decrypt a PS2 Classics ISO.BIN.EDAT file? The application edat3tool doesn't seem to have support for it. I am guessing that is where some multi disc stuff is being executed/checked and what is preventing multi disc configs from working properly. I want to decrypt Grandia III's ISO.BIN.EDAT to see if there is anything special relating to it.

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to have no effect if the file is even present or not.

Try TrueAncestor EDAT rebuilder.
