hi, can this game be fixed? Sengoku Basara x (SLPM_550.08). It works, but the game has low FPS. It's a 2D fighting game
I already took a look at it, but there's unfortunately no simple fix. Guilty Gear Isuka and Fist of the North Star are also affected. The emulator really doesn't like these games, and even netemu's PS button menu is slowed down and delayed from it.

unfortunate ! is an excellent fighting game for ps2. Thank you for having improved Street Alpha Anthology by 80%.

I have another fighting game to report, it just crashes when I select the character. I'll give you the name and game ID later

Ports of NET configs:

Rogue Galaxy

SCUS-97490

Code:

01 00 00 00 60 3B 2F 00 50 37 07 0C 00 00 00 00
Seems to disable grayscale filter in some scenes, possibly due to incorrect rendering.

Wild Arms V (SLUS-21615, SLES-54972)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 03 44 00 00 41 00 00 00 4D 00 00 00
00 00 80 3F

Finny the Fish & the Seven Waters (SLUS-21072)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 B2 42 00 00 48 00 00 00 02 00 00 00
78 EC FF FF
Nothing to port for these, but just to make it available for all regions. Finny config probably fixes FMV desync. It is unknown what Wild Arms does, but 0x41 might be a freeze fix and 0x4D is this: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/compatibility-list-ps2-on-ps3.1306/page-243#post-308890

Tom and Jerry in War of the Whiskers (SLUS-20355, SLES-51053, SLPM-62449)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Fixes freeze in menus. There is still some slowdown in gameplay when the camera is zoomed out and a lot of 3D stuff is on screen. Some stages work fine. Only tested NTSC-U on the first two stages available.

Same config as we all know and love, just "official." ;)

Btw, this is a call for help(!). If anyone wants to buy Bust-a-Bloc PS2 Classic on the European PS Store and dump the config, I would be more than grateful. Without any config, Bust-a-Bloc has some mild "spiky polygon syndrome" (SPS) issues when starting a level. The config included in the PS2 Classic should have some sort of patch that could potentially help a lot of Tamsoft games that have issues with SPS (Demolition Girl, Catfight, lots of others tested and probably untested). That would be a "goldmine" config, unless of course Sony did some stupid fix that just disables some 3D rendering to mask the glitchy-ness of Tamsoft's engine on netemu...or just ignores it entirely (which I doubt)...

Regarding Stuart Little 3 Big Photo adventure:

I did purchase the game again, I've managed to find a "Game review game disc", I've only found this online regarding it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ps2/comments/p9j15p/i_have_a_stuart_little_3_game_review_disc_and_i/

Lemme list attempts to play the game:
1. Game loaded perfectly into gameplay
2. Game froze after loading save
3. Game froze again after save
4. I left intro video menu running for few secs too much and after pressing skip button - black screen
5. Again freeze of the game after loading save.

It's so random, but sadly it's about 90% freezing upon loading things, if I had 50% I could play the game restarting the PS3 every now and then, but in this situation I'm restarting the game again more than playing it.

What's odd that apart from the loading freezes, the game runs perfectly fine.
Great framerates, no graphical glitches, same as PS2 but better cos of PS3 uspcaling, yet unplayable due to the freezing, even with a real game.

The game I got came from the Netherlands, but it's also PAL, so regarding content/ingame dubbing / languages it's the same as the previous ISO I provided info about.

I'll dump this DVD using my PC BD-XL Burner/Reader and provide the PS2 MD5 again.

From what I've read online this game review disc is the same as retail copy, but the information about this is so scarce that I just have to dump it and tell you guys exactly what is it.

I'll post here again once I get this dumped and calculated.

Here's the dump of the game I've purchased which has the same issue.

In this post I used the MD5 Calculator of the retail iso downloaded off the internet:
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/compatibility-list-ps2-on-ps3.1306/page-256#post-319415

It looks like it is the exact same version as the retail copy, just with a different label printed on top of the disc itself, that would prove what somebody wrote before that it's the same as retail.

Any tips on how to create a PS2CONFIG for this game that would actually work?

EDIT:
To make matters worse, I left the PS3 idle while I was ripping games, its well ventilated and I changed all thermal pastes and cleaned the console before I actually started playing on it - and I did play on it for a few months aswell as installing games for many hours idling.

This time it was idling for like 30 mins and then it shut off, I thought it's normal as there was no activity, but now it's blinking red light.
Then I press power button on console, it goes to solid red.
Then green for 2 seconds, yellow for one second, 3 beeps and starts blinking red.

Did my PS3 just randomly started dying now? I never exceeded 70*C on any of the chips displayed in webmanmod, in PS2 the fans were like 70% or so manual.

Anyways, I've ordered 10g's more of Gelid GC Extreme and new thermal pads, to repaste it again including new gelid extreme 1.5mm thermal pads this time.

EDIT2:
I opened the window, put the PS3 on the ground with a huge fan blowing from bottom to the top of PS3, so it's defnitely cool now, yet same blinking red light.

Does this have to do anything with software or purely hardware?
Could this DVD kill it off? The DVD was definitely out for the last 30mins it was turned on and it's still out.

Why can't things just go smoothly for me :/

Thanks a lot, you've saved me from lots of frustration and pointless repasting.
I've ordered those
https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/32834487711.html and I'm going to replace all of the NEC/TOKIN caps with tanthalium ones (with some help from somebody more experienced), if that won't work then I'll proceed to reball it (no heatgun, but professional hardware used by professionals) and once I get my PS3 back to life, I'll use the premium paste and thermopads so this bad boy would serve me for years to come, fingers crossed.

Sorry for a bit of offtopic, but is there a chance somebody (or possibly You MrJaredBeta <3) could have a look at this Stuart Little 3 game?
I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong, but it seemed like it made no difference if I checked all patches with managunz or used no patches, quite literally I felt no difference with patches or without, like they were not applied or something (could be because of selecting multiple languages before launching the actual game?)

It's just that my main dream with the PS3 was to play this GTA for kids for nostalgia reasons on the PS3 with upscaling and all on actual hardware.

This game also does support PS2 eyetoy and while I usually don't care about those things, I actually forgot this game even had support for it. If I get the game to run, I'd definitely buy a PS2 eyetoy and fiddle around with it and PS3.

If that would change anything, I'd gladly even donate/pay if somebody could make a patch that would get rid of this freezing during loading game world issue.

If the problem isn't money, but time then I'd appreciate some guidance, like what should I try this time, once I get my PS3 working to make this Stuart Little 3 patch succesful?

Check the NPS website Pending section :encouragement:

Credit goes for the NPS browser's Discord group people that saw my message and helped, they are : diego-rbb-93, JCLexicon and yeetdom101 for helping, buying and dumping the game :)

Updated config to fix some glitching FMVs at the bottom of the screen. It happens occasionally, most notable the first Activision FMV, but should be completely fixed. Fix is taken from Rockman X8...thanks $ony!

Any games that have some graphical glitching/flickering during FMVs at the bottom of screen can be fixed by this method. Phantasy Star Universe could potentially be fixed with this as well.

@olokos I can't do anything to the half-BC PS2 emulator (ps2_gxemu) as the configs are embedded into the emulator. The game freezes with graphical corruption on netemu, and there is nothing I can really do to help. Sorry. :(

@Rafaelrios Idk, it's an official classic so maybe check your ISO. Shutdowns can indicate TLB misses caused by a bad ISO.
