PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

A few games that aren't on the compatibility list.

Alpine Racer 3 (Japan) large graphical errors. Big black box on bottom half of screen, character black.
Tenchu Fatal Shadows (USA) played first two stages. No problems.
Psi Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy (USA) played for an hour no problems.
Rise of the Kasai (USA) played for 30 minutes no problems.

Hate to bring this back up but I was wrong these memory cards don't work. I tried yours I tried mine. They show up like your pic as 31mb and I can even copy the saves to another memory card, but any time I play a game it says memory card not inserted and I did insert it in slot 1. Tried rebuilding database and rebuilding file system. Have you been able to get them to work in a game? I can't.

Yes they're not there. I have the Ps2 Classics GUI with all those config files installed, but no luck with these two ones. I've created one with the Config Editor for NBA Street 2 USA, and checked all the boxes (x0, x2 etc.), the game works but I've noticed strong slowdown especially at the start of the games.
 
Hey guys, I just finished Tales of the Abyss(after sinking 120+ hrs in it) using @kozarovv's Choral Castle fix.
For those who would want to play this game, here are some tips:
Use Choral Castle fix made by kozarovv to fix the Choral Castle freeze.
There is a rare bug called Natalia missing bug, on your first time at Grand Malkuth, when Luke is alone, speak to Natalia first before speaking to Emperor peony. Not doing so may trigger the bug where Natalia will go missing.
There is an optional sidequest involving Rose from Engeve village. There's freezing happening here so the Choral Castle fix or turning sound to mono in options menu may have fixed it.
I'm gonna do a second playthrough to see if I encounter the Natalia bug again.
Thanks to the devs here especially @kozarovv for making it possible for us to play more ps2 games on ps3. Keep up the good work guys and keep supporting ps2 backwards compatibility on ps3!

Just a suggestion, but before starting a second playthrough you should ask kozarovv if he has some more additionally ideas to add in the config to try to fix the other bugs you mentioned
Right now you are the best betatester available for that game ;)
And btw, if you replay it... try to make copies of the gamesave in a point inmediatly before the bug happens, this could be handy for other people to try to replicate the bug
 
Galerians Ash - not on the compatibility list working fine. Might be the weirdest game I've ever played.

Edit: I was wrong the game isn't working properly. It doesn't load some cutscenes and it doesn't let you save. I figured it out by playing it on PS2.

Can someone clarify does Valkyrie Profile 2 work fully on PS3 Slim's or not? What it says on the compatibility list is just confusing and it kept crashing on me when I tried.
 
I have a weird problem trying to play Shinobido (Japanese game) I sync the controller and the Playstation 2 logo appears but then in the top left corner it says pad (0, 0) is disconnected dpad initalization failed. Compatibility list says the game is working. I can hit the ps button and choose options such as quit game but I can't do anything else.

Tenchu loose fps
 
I tried downloading a clean ISO of Shinobido and now it works. I think it was a NTSC patch that caused that issue. Had the iso for years.

Cold Fear (USA) working fine in the 20 minutes I played it.

Been playing it for over 20 hours on my Slim PS3, with patch apllied through Managunz. Getting some slowdown in towns and some dungeons. Had no crashes. And turning off smoothing on ps2 options helps with graphical glitches, with smoothing ON there is some ghosting and more slowdown. So overall it's playable.
