I feel ya. I think those black screens are random and happen very rarely, so I don't believe there's any point that is impassable. I haven't personally tested the game but I remember reading about it in this thread. My guess would be to just save often in case you encounter a freeze!

Idk about 2 but 1 always freezes in the same spot after you escaping the funeral and right before the first fight with shimano

Zarh-SLUS_209.93,ManaGunZ-GX-SLUS_209.93 are same.
ManaGunZ-SOFT-SLUS_209.93 is from

You test us version right? Game run ever without config, really strange! Wait....what version u use? If Redump it will be black screen, im use iso from another site!
 
try again,gx can enter the game,but cant down the ladder
ManaGunZ-SOFT-SLUS_209.93 works.after the bell house,2nd saw big guy freeze

new config,still cant get down the ladder after the church ladder.
and freeze after u kill two saw big guys,but u can skip them,i didnt play further.

forgot to say it's not really freeze,press home botton,X,<-X,then it'll back to XMB.
Actually i never met freeze at ps2emu,bad sitution is u cant enter the game.

Tested Tourist Trophy on my super slim, at standard settings 480i with upscaler disabled, it runs almost as smooth as on PS2 but looks like crap (glitched text etc), at 480p and emulator debug settings to remove the glitchy text it looks good but runs too slow.

US is working, but frame rate out of battle and in cutscenes tends to be very low. I was working on a speed fix for it, but the game uses a protection mechanism to prevent codes and cheats. The code I found cuts the frames from 60fps to 30fps to bring a big speed boost but it is not possible currently to implement in into netemu (@kozarovv was helping me with it a few weeks ago).

Also, I managed to fix Burnout 3 today using a similar method:

This essentially limits the framerate when it cannot reach 60fps. The downsides are it runs at 30fps most of the time instead of 60fps, and some ingame stuff runs at half speed as well (pause menu, loading screen animations, signature takedown animations). But hey, the game runs full speed now.

Please note that the only way to use this config is using kozarovv's patched netemu: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/p...-for-original-opcodes-in-0x0a-and-0x09.20602/

This is until a proper CONFIG can be made for the unpatched netemu. :)

Can someone test this config? Scarface US - SLUS-21111
PLEASE don't get exited, is not a fix yet. I just need to know there is any speed difference or no to make next attempt.
There will be minor glitch around character, i'm aware of that.

After more testing, I found that Burnout 3 doesn't even need a config for a speed fix. If a race starts slow, then crash your car and restart the race. Speed is fixed automatically. I have no way of debugging this, but I am sure a config can be made to alleviate the issue without having to restart (if whatever is causing it is found).
