PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

Need for Speed Underground 2 PAL (SLES-52725) Experimental

Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
A8 78 1D 00 B4 00 40 14 B4 00 00 10 00 00 00 00

Memory offset values courtesy of @nifengyuexia (https://www.psx-place.com/threads/r...onfiguration-on-ps4.16131/page-57#post-277174), I have only changed the value from 0x001D77C8 to 0x001D78A8. I don't know if it's sufficent to work, since I don't know anything about config commands. I haven't got a game to test, so I am waiting for a feedback.

The same experiment could be tested with SLPM_657.66 and SLPM_660.51 that use the address 0x001D79D8 (as mentioned by nifengyuexia in the same post)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
D8 79 1D 00 B4 00 40 14 B4 00 00 10 00 00 00 00

doubt here is HAN compatibilty different from Slim?

Because the issue mentioned on rule of rose didn't happen to me.
Flickering comment is my. And i'm 100% sure that still happen, is just really hardly noticeable, and exist only on some places. About DS3 that need to be connected by usb, i never had that issue. So probably some fake DS3 were used during test. But i can't now deny or confirm anything for 100% since i can't test.

what's up guys!!! first of all i want to thank you for the effort to fix the games,
and if there is a chance to fix hulk ultimate destruction and R racing evolution.

What are the issues with R Racing Evolution? I don't think that game is on the compatibility list.

SoulCalibur II (SLES-51799) Experimental

Code:

47 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Based on @mrjaredbeta config - PS3 - Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3 | Page 118 | PSX-Place (psx-place.com). The last original value is different on the PAL version (a0a20acd vs a0a20acc). I hope it's working, because I have no technical knowledge about what I'm doing.

Sorry for flooding the thread with posts lately, I was just trying out @kozarovv test config for Scarface from a while back, seems like it has a fps boost of at least 10 fps making it almost playable, noticed there might be an extra 2-3 fps at night time, seems like fps drop when there is a lot of buildings being processed. Also tried IPU Aggressive and other Vsync methods and it didn't help.

3D 00 00 00 11 11 00 00 0A 00 00 00 02 00 00 00
40 2F 64 00 C0 FF BD 27 08 00 E0 03 44 2F 64 00
80 00 02 3C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Good advance for this. The game is more playable -but not totally- I see that good. ;)

Some testing was done. Heinhachi vs Xianghua (or what the F%$# they are named), upscaling and smoothing turned off, widescreen in game enabled. Stage with a "Guided by Wind" theme. Pushing a hardware hard when the camera is pointed towards the sun.

Soulcalibur II PAL no config:
PAL mode - Generally smooth if avoiding the sun. Heavy fps drop then.
NTSC mode - Less frame rate than in the 50 Hz mode. Flickering titles in the main menu screen.
480p mode - Very sharp image. Performance comparable or worse with the NTSC mode.

Soulcalibur II PAL config from yesterday:
PAL mode - does not work properly, screen shifted upwards and cut therefore, with a black bar at the bottom.. It does look like a forced 480p image on a 576p output, but it's a PAL render.
NTSC mode - Outputs a proper 576p signal! Smooth gameplay, noticeable fps drop when pointing to the sun, but not as big as without the config (compared with a PAL mode of course). I think it's playable.
480p mode - It struggles a lot more when reaching our benchmark, otherwise very smooth and sharp.

So it does not work as it should - a 60 Hz interlaced mode does not work with the config. Anyway, there is a PS3 port of the game. It would be good to check the Soulcalibur III though, since it's a PS2 exclusive. It does manifest similiar performance issues as far as I know, maybe some effects were reused.

Nice testing. The main takeaway of the config is it should disable the ghosting effect/blur the game exhibits when frame rate drops, as well as overall improvement to frame rate due to shadows disabled and some sort of frame skip function disabled.

I may take another look at SCII, as well as PAL version, and also III. I disabled SCIII shadows but never posted a config as game still has noticeably slow gameplay as the frame drops affect game speed (and this problem doesn't exist in SCII).

SoulCalibur II PAL (SLES-51799)

47 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Video mode selector does work. Choose a PAL50 mode for the best performance, or a Progressive for the sharpest image (and noticeably worse frame rate). 480i and 480p they seem to have same performance, not heavily tested though.

Still messing around with Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, can't find any configuration that fix the grafics without making the game run worse.

Code:
3D 00 00 00 EC 42 00 00 48 00 00 00 01 00 00 00
90 D0 03 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Also tested the progresive and widescreen patch, no difference.

There are some interlacing patches that I don't have the confidence to try to convert it. If anyone want to try it
