I tried the config you posted @MadSaint1998 it does seem to be a lot better but the frame drops when there's any smoke make the game almost unplayable if you're driving a damaged car, I'll keep testing to see if that's the only issue. Another question, whenever possible I try to play the NTSC (60hz) version of a game because of the higher framerates, but would I have more stable frame rates if I play the PAL (50hz) version? (I have a European PS3 if that makes any difference)

There is no general rule. Depending on the optimisation some games could perform better on the either version. I think it does matter more if a 50/60 fps game is being played. The 10 fps difference could be crucial in maintaining the 100% game speed on the netemu. For example, with disabled shadows the Valkyrie Profile 2 PAL has not got any slowdown in the Solde area. The NTSC version has got a one in the Solde's docks.

Personally, I live in Europe, thus majority games I do play are the PAL versions.

Fixes majority of frame rate problems by disabling some unneeded stuff (fog and graphic overlay mostly).

@Vika23 @nictse @Marcus Halberstram You can test with this config if you want. I played through the first level and only the smoke-filled building had some noticeable slowdown. Otherwise, game plays nicely now.

I kept the blur because it doesn't cause slowdown (tested with and without it). And I agree, maybe not 30fps, but I think this is the best we're gonna get...seems like a pretty performance intensive game.

Quick tested VP2 jap ver.
A little slow as before at first scene in the village, but speed back to normal when change the scene in village.
And speed normal in other scenes and houses.
