newb with continuous questions posted here :D

1. You don't have to update because the last couple of multiman updates brought no new features iirc, they just fix the fw version detection on most recent fw versions.
Yet, updating multiman only takes a few minutes so...
2. app_home is a development folder used by developers to test their apps. On CFW, you can mount a legacy JB folder game on app_home & use the provided XMB link to launch the game. Check the mount options in Managunz for a JB folder game, you will see a app_home option, if you check it & mount the game, you will find the app_home link on XMB is now your mounted game.
3. As the name indicates, the sMan GUI is not SMan, only the GUI called sLaunch iirc.
The GUI displays a new window on XMB with your wMM games list. To mount the game you wish, you can simply click on its cover. The mounting is done by wMM of course.
4. DB fw uses only one disk & the same console's id set as the CFW does. There is no need for spoofing ids on DB fw unless your console is banned.
When you install a fw, no matter what type, ofw, cfw, db fw, the installed contents on the internal disk remain untouched, the same games/apps are still installed etc.. You can switch between cfw & db fw, back & forth, when you are on CFW you have full access, when you are on db fw, only the installed games & apps that are properly licensed will work (no resigned game, no iso mounting, no brew etc..), just like using ofw. You can of course make use of the ps3xploit Tools to use HAN as you would be able to on OFW,

To keep jailbreak untouched but remain as safe as possible when using PSN, the best way is to use a DB fw along with retail discs or officially installed PSN games, just as you would on OFW.

5. You can delete the wMM Updater from XMB after installing wMM.
6. The XMB structure is defined in a series of system files in (nearly standard compliant! Lol) XML format (XMBML).
A column is referred to as a category & the XML files are named according to categories, for instance you will find category_game.xml in which all the Games Colum entries are defined in mark-up language or the category_network.xml file for the Network column etc..
The xml files must be modded to make changes to the entries, note that there are some limitations & restrictions. Mods like XMBPD, HAN Toolbox, CFW Settings & even wMM all require category XML file editing.
Check this info & navigate from there to other appropriate pages. https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/XMBML_Files

i think i agree, i will leave xmbpd behind at this point in time.

i posted the commands list as a reference on page 2 of this thread i think, but the block online servers one is it like psn patch basically minus the sys call clearing? is it equally effective as psn patch(or senenabler) but like less automation so its bad if u forget?

for games i want to store on usb?= since i have 4 ports i can use multiple thingys in them so perhaps 128gb for games id frequently play, i guess i didnt think about the 4gb limit... ill try to partition my usb stick to ntfs ( i dont have harddrive) do i need the prep ntfs i read about ?

even if net1 net0 is network access in registry... i guess i dont use this so its ok to disable shortcuts

i didnt intend to make bunch of miscellaneous posts , im kind of retarded lol and have pseudo-adhd where if i dont write something down i will forget and panic that i cant remember it 20minutes laters D;
anyways i tried to tidy the posts into one post below though, i agree for one post its better less redundant method.
1. I wouldn't bother using wMM for PSN connection prepping, at least not in CEX mode. It is good to have the option & it can be useful in certain circumstances BUT PSNPatch should already take care of all those things & more.

2. PrepNTFS is needed with wMM only if you are using an old version. The most recent updates no longer require its use, the ntfs driver is now integrated with wMM so wMM can directly access the ntfs drive & scan it.

3. net0/net1 is related to ps3netsrv. The game/app network server. Note that recent wMM versions have the ability to be both server & client.

Its just something from the dev, its not an update. The dev is asking for donations to keep the online aspect of MultiMAN going. Thats all that is, I get the same when I use it.

WOW that's a lot of question's lol. You spammed your own thread lol, :D joking lol.

This is a DEBUG mounting path, its normally used by games dev's on DECH PS3's, and also by other devs. Any game you mount with a backup manager will also appear here as well as on the XMB as a disc, shouldn't really be used when mounting games for playing online though. Try it out... mount a game with MultiMAN highlight that option, after a second or 2 the game will appear.

Yes and no, you can move things about if you know how the edit the corresponding XMLs and sometimes the RCO's, some things need one thing editing, others multiple things editing and it can easily go wrong if the XML code isn't right. Things go missing from the xmb and such. As for creating a new column that would more than likely need its own sprx file to go with it and half a dozen other things editing as well.

For your apps on the games column on the XMB you can create folders for them to go in to eg. " BACKUP MANAGERS " for any of them you use if its more than on " CFW TOOLS " for things like CCAPI, Artemis. " Emulators " for things like RetroArch and such.

If you press triangle on an app, then go to info, there should be a blank box next to album. You can create the folders this way, just name each app apps album the same as the one that's already in it and it will appear in the same folder.

Highlight the app, press " triangle " then select " information ".....

Then highlight and press X on the empty " Album " option and enter the name of your choice....

Here are some examples....

Just some examples to make your XMB look tidy without the need to remove things in case they may be needed later and saves having to install the pkg again.
oh thats wat it is; wasent sure if it was a downgrade or final stable release
LOL
o: last part is super helpful ! wow u da best c: *tosses confetti everywhere*
