PS3 NoPSN Apps

This can be issue not related to app itself. Setting up PnP on router can help, also changing DNS in ps3 to 8.8.8.8 and secondary 4.4.4.4 can help.
Next thing is that some netflix servers was vunerable for CVE-2014-3566 so they probably not allow to connect older client. But if app is working for one person and not working for another, then is something else.
Upnp & dns have already been tried & tested.
No help.

Also I doubt that the freezes experienced with EU 1.04 are due to exploit patching because if it was the case, it would likely not work at all rather than freeze at random every 1h or even every 10mn for some people apparently.

As I said, no certainties, just hunches & doubts so far.

Hello there,
Since this topic has been "picked up" again, I'm going to take the opportunity to state that I've been lately using the Eu 1.04 patched version, and, in the last couple of days, I've been getting connection errors for the first time, similar to those I had when I gave up on the US 2.26 version.
Is anyone starting to experience that also?
And by the way, the freezes got worse and worse, just impossible to use.
For reference, I'm in Europe.

Oh Lord..

There could be a roll out of updates on their servers over a couple of months, that would account for gradual changes & location issues...

Well there's still the psnpatch way that most users can use.
f your console is banned, maybe you should consider getting an unbanned dead console for parts on eBay or whatever & extract its ids... It's cheap enough an option to be considered seriously...

Hhhmm. I never needed till this day to use PSN patch, so I'm at a loss. I actually don't have my ps3 banned, so.. What you're saying is run PSN patch, maybe I can just disable the cfw, make a clean PSN account and download a legit Netflix from there? Then what happens every time I turn on/off ps3?
Sorry for the noob question in advance.

Anyone with a need to connect to PSN with a CFW can use psnpatch or SEN Enabler to reduce the ban risk to close to 0

I suggest that you choose psnpatch over SEN Enabler to begin with as it's much easier to use.
Also you should use the psnpatch plugin instead of the app., the plugin is installed through the app and requires Cobra or Mamba.
A simple gamepad combo will trigger psnpatch to prepare the cfw for PSN use by removing syscalls, deleting history among other things.
Once psnpatch has been triggered, you can safely use PSN. You will get a pop up message telling you PSN has been unlocked because as an additional safety feature the plugin locks PSN access on boot.

When you are done you must reboot the console to use CFW features.
Read the psnpatch release notes (store.brewology.com) & visit the psnpatch thread.
Before you connect for the first time, make sure everything is OK & that you understand the whole process including what NOT to do.

Ideally but it's optional, you would use a set of spare ids to spoof in order to protect your console's id as well. That's what I do.

Of course, if you spent money into your PSN account, you should use a 2nd PSN account for daily use. Connect using your main account only when you absolutely need it.

Thank you very much for your thorough explanation, it helped a lot. I'm still going to rethink this whole Netflix situation, if it's worth that risk. I have the same ps3 for so many years, it would be a shame to mess it up just because of this. But now I know I have this alternative ;)

For information, in the past 2 years, I have used psnpatch constantly on 2 consoles to connect to PSN on a regular basis, sometimes for long periods of time & I have never had a single issue or worry about a ban. If you follow the right steps, you can use PSN with peace of mind.

Also note that psnpatch is webMAN-MOD friendly, the devs ensured the best possible compatibility between the 2 tools.
They combo to unload webMAN-MOD is the same as the psnpatch plugin combo trigger.

By the way, because webMAN-MOD is unloaded after psnpatch triggering, dynamic fan control will stop & fan will be set to manual using the value found for Ps2 Emulator temp setting. Make sure you set this setting to an appropriate value in webMAN-MOD setup page. [emoji6]

I just tested EU 1.04 again tonight, it still works fine.
I will make some people jealous but I watched the first movie I streamed, a 1h30 flick, without any freeze! The joy was short lived because the next movie got 3 freezes!

I tested other versions including bitsbubba's, they still don't work. Something new in the errors though.
Until now, in all my tests, there was only a server connection error with Netflix server 2 but now there are errors with Netflix servers 2 & 3....

Things have also changed with a US 2.11 spoofed to 2.26 that I made last month.
It's also an older version with the red icon.
This one gives me no server errors at all. All green checks but refuses to pass the testing stage with error ui-113 with app experiences starting problems message....
Weird.

Does anyone have a US Netflix official pkg previous to 2.11. Or several?
I just got hold of a US 2.02. Same problem. No server errors but Netflix can't start....
Btw I found you don't need to use a nopsn release if you use Rebug. [emoji5]️
No need for patching & rebuilding...! I should have known from the earlier days...
Thank f##k anyway as I can't use my PC atm so I couldn't have tested it.. [emoji6]

Is there a volunteer for testing a theory of mine? I can't do it myself atm.

Anybody who has a Netflix account, who is running Rebug 4.80 & has server connection errors thus no other choice than using EU 1.04..
It's no big deal, just installing a pkg, changing a couple of settings & testing if streaming still freezes..

Anyone up for it?

If you are report your findings after doing the following:

1. Download this file https://www.mediafire.com/download/q8z4hw3abfizbp3
2. Install this official unpatched/unspoofed pkg of Netflix EU 1.04.
3. Go to Debug Settings. Change the environment type from np to invalid.
4. Reboot
5. For peace of mind, you can check that the debug setting from step #3 is still 'invalid'.
Launch Netflix, when it asks to to sign in PSN, say yes. Of course it will fail & give you an error message. Close with circle button.
Sometimes it asks to sign in twice, if it does, do it again.
Eventually the sign in process will end & you get to the login page.
6. Test the Netflix streaming for freezes!
7. When you have finished your tests, remember to set your environment type to np in the debug settings.
8. Please report! [emoji5]️

That's what i did (with the unpatched 1.04) before you released the 1.04 nopsn package. Results are the same.

By disabling changing np environment to invalid. Did this with the old 2.17 package I used last year, which worked fine at the time.

Well it was worth a try, Now we know for sure that the servers are not relying on the PSN enabled flag in the installation to assess & restrict accordingly.

This is a good method to test though because it's faster & doesn't require updating version or spoofing.

Maybe I will try a US version before 2.02 if I can find one... I have very little hope it will work though.

Has anybody tried a EU < 1.04 ?
You can use the np environment change method to avoid patching & spoofing.
Just to know if the freezes are regular too...

Can't find a pkg older than 1.04.

I have two ps3s at my other house that still has Netflix working on the old 2.19 NoPSN USA version (my wife verified it was still working normally two days ago)... These are working apparently because they haven't been messed with for about a year... I intend (maybe tomorrow) on getting one of these ps3s here, running on a different ISP, and see if it still works... if it does, then I'll FTP the Netflix app, and maybe saved data over to my ps3 here (which is having the "cannot connect to server" problem of a new install of Netflix with no PSN). Hopefully after FTPing that all over to this ps3, it will magically work here. If it DOES, we can dissect why its working off those old files compared to a new install. Anyways... just hoping I can figure out something here for everyone.

I got my other ps3 over here now... Popped it on the different ISP here, and it's working perfectly on the old 2.19 USA NoPSN (with NP environment set to "invalid", of course). came right up like normal, and popped on a show, and it went from 480 to 720 to 1080, just like normal.. So soon I'll see about transferring over the exact files from it to my other ps3 (which has the "cannot connect to Netflix server" error -- the one where it shows 4 servers, and the top and bottom are green checkmarks, and the two middle ones are red Xs), and also, I think the key is, to transfer over the installed data for it. I am a software engineer and a coder -- so I'll dig into this and let you guys know! Does anyone know what I might run into trying to transfer the installed data from one to the other? There isn't any keyed encryption like Ps3 game saves, right? I am planning to install the 2.19 version on the bad ps3, having it "not work" -- then overwrite the installed data with the working ps3's data.
