PS3 NoPSN Apps

if it is a patch that's involved, I could patch it for everyone. however, I'd need to know the hex string, hex string patch, and the file involved.

They changed something on the server end that does only seem to affect some users and not orhers

That is exactly the conclusion I came to..
Why are not all users affected though?
What could be different between your situation & ours... other than location.
Could it be that only fresh installs are checked for something...?
Have you tried reinstalling the app recently?
Of course, if that was the problem, you would lose Netflix... (unless maybe if you backed up your install folder).

I believe I did shortly after the first report via pkg download manager. I can't check now as I've been out of internet for about 2 weeks waiting on payday to get new service

Yes I was thinking the newest update needed a patch in the eboot but in my search of the elf I didn't find any mention Enable PSN or I would have patched it out

u'd probably have to debug the eboot. though, I was referring to a flash file, 'cause I thought u said something about Ferrox/Habib not working with no psn correctly but rebug did.

Don't know if this is remotely related to this at all (highly highly doubt it) but for some reason, I don't get Dolby Digital Plus with the newer Netflix apps, only regular DD. With the old 1.04, I do. But doubt it's related just interesting.

it's unlikely it's related to the patch since it's just a small edit to the configuration file within the sprx.

I already looked at all the obvious places for a patch but found nothing.
If it's patchable & it likely is, it's not as obvious as that...

I haven't really heard anything lately but I believe it had something to do with the signing of the eboot REBUG would work if it was signed either way but the others would not

r u still after me? after all, I did get away while camping at Crystal Lake.

Region lockup?
It's the first thing we suspected & it looked a strong possibility at first but since then reported info has made this theory unlikely...
Someone close to bitsbubba's location (Crystal Lake [emoji51] lol) reported the very same problem while bits was still streaming fine, also all VPN/Proxy attempts to simulate a location reported as "still working" have failed so far..

It's not exactly compelling evidence but it's enough to doubt...

EU versions up to 1.04 don't have this server issue. It starts with EU 1.05.
With the US build, even the earliest versions I patched gave me server errors on initial startup.

When Netflix starts it makes some server connection tests, they are all fine except the connection to Netflix server 2, accompanied with an error message that varies according to versions...
That's the current behaviour for all releases except EU < 1.05

This can be issue not related to app itself. Setting up PnP on router can help, also changing DNS in ps3 to 8.8.8.8 and secondary 4.4.4.4 can help.
Next thing is that some netflix servers was vunerable for CVE-2014-3566 so they probably not allow to connect older client. But if app is working for one person and not working for another, then is something else.
