PS3 NoPSN Apps

a new patch may work, but if it's an encryption issue, no patch will work, because the issue is on netflix side. like I said, what cfw r u all on and which psn patch r u using. the patch is very easy to implement - spoof the param.sfo to the latest and hex edit the app.sprx from true to false with the psn requirement.

HABIB 4.78 (4.80 SPOOF)
And as I said before, I'm using the 1.04/1.13 Spoof from @bguerville.
I still have the nopsn 2.26 pkg that was working and now don't... But that's no use anymore...

@bitsbubba told me that 2.19 was the last American version that could be fixed. it must be spoofed to the latest version to work. I'm still wondering if it's an encryption error on netflix side rather than a way to eliminate banned users from its network. I'd be interested to know if the latest version (2.26 for America; not sure what the latest for European is) worked for those who rn't banned. that might tell us something about what's going on, perhaps debunking my theory...or not.

I don't know if bits can still run 2.19 but for me, it stopped working just a few days ago.

It looks like I can't get a single US version to work anymore.

The latest EU is 1.13.
EU & US are the same, they just use different version numbers.
What I find strange though is that if I patch an older US release like 2.11 (virtually the same as EU 1.04) it doesn't work. The servers don't give errors but still it won't run...

I am banned, but tried with a public cid to test if I could run the netflix app connected to psn, and got no luck (server errors). I test it like a week ago. Has someone test the app in a PS3 with OFW?

I tried last week using psnpatch. It worked.
But since then, the patched US version stopped working so maybe I will try again when I get home.

Still no server errors on my end, I'm at a loss of what the issue is. I'm running latest pkg (mine) on REBUG 4.80.1 no freezing, some rebuffering (possibly wifi speed) other then no problem

It's a very strange error. I think that the problem is with the server because if I use the 1.04 the freeze problem appears. Also, when it's prime time (my ISP is known by Netflix for not prioritizing Netflix packets making it slow in prime time) I can't see any video; the Netflix app says "We're Having Trouble Playing This Title Right Now." or something similar, I see the message in Spanish. But if I upgrade the app in that moment and I use psnpatch or I put the same video in my PC all works very well. I think the 1.04 version bypasses the servers check and only works with the one that no fails.

More interesting things. My Netflix account is shared by four members of my family. All of us use the PS3 with a CFW. Just me have the server errors. They are using the spoof version of the app without problems. I was in 4.78 HABIB COBRA and now in 4.80 REBUG. My family uses older CFW (one of them 4.76 habib cobra, I don't know the others but even older). All of us are in the same country but different cities.

@pinky I don't understand what do you mean with "banned users". Banned in PSN, in Netflix, the console..? My PSN account is not banned (I use it pretty well in my PS4) and my Netflix account neither (I can use it in my PS4 and PC). I don't know if my console is banned because when I use the psnpatch I spoof my data using my YLOD PS3 information.

Now, I'm remembering that the first time that Netflix didn't work, I saw a message like "Your netflix data cannot transfer to another system", and it was the first time I'd seen it. Now I see that message every time I change the app and I test it. I think because I use the psnpatch with the PSID spoof and I go back to the nopsn version with my real PSID.
Maybe is this the reason because the nopsn version stop working? If you had used psnpatch before?
Maybe you're right pinky, maybe it's an encryption error.

I'm testing things but I'm running out of ideas and I can't access to my relatives' PS3s.

Sorry again for my poor English.

Don't apologise for your English, on the contrary I believe it to be pretty good. [emoji6]

The details you just contributed to this thread are interesting.
I also feel that the problems we experience are likely to happen on the server side.
I believe the 1.04 EU build bypasses any server check for some reason but also suffers from freezes as a result of it.
I could be wrong...

Btw I also use psnpatch when I need PSN but I don't spoof the ids at the moment, even though I could as I have a couple of spare sets...

@incognita , I was referring to banned from psn. not sure y some people r having problems while others rn't. could be a netflix issue that might be resolved in the coming days or it could be something else entirely. the more we learn, the more it sounds like it's a server issue with netflix itself rather than the app on the ps3.

Ok I tried the PSN versions EU 1.13 & US 2.26 via cfw & psnpatch.
It seems to work fine.
I didn't watch a full movie in each so I can't tell about possible freezes but the streaming is good. At least for the 5mn I watched with each app.

@bitsbubba
I tried your pkg from post #231 but just like the pkg I made myself with US 2.19, I get the now infamous Netflix server 2 & 3 errors in 1st launch & never get a chance to sign in or see the launch page...
Am afraid you are likely to experience the same issue very soon yourself...

The "We're Having Trouble Playing This Title Right Now." error can be bypassed simply by logging out of netflix and back in. I have to do this every time i turn on my ps3 after a while.

Not ended.. Just nothing new to add.
Reverse engineering the app to find a way to patch it requires skills & time and if every ps3 Netflix users were in need, there would probably more interest in doing it.
If Netflix is modifying its servers behaviour as I suspect it is, they could even have created a situation where patching their might not even be sufficient on its own... Who knows?

But as it stands the only people who are stuck here are those with a banned console & no spare idps/psid. Everybody else could just use psnpatch (and/or even DEX) really...
Even people on older firmware can spoof to 4.80 manually by patching vsh or with SEN Enabler....
