PS VITA / PS TV Pinky's PS Vita Tutorials

Okay this is random tried the download from hackinformer and it works perfectly. Don't know what It is doing lol. Only thing is hackinformer version a image "blow me" when browsing a background on it. Can you change the browsing image easily?. Thanks for all your help. Rather it didn't have that.

not sure. the image is probably in the eboot.bin. u can extract the eboot.pbp with eboot.iso. after that, I have no idea how to extract the eboot.bin into files.

I have a suggestion. use the original snes emulator u linked me to, but extract the contents of the eboot.pbp with eboot2iso. that's what I meant with eboot.iso (typo). after that, change the eboot.bin to boot.bin and the boot.bin to eboot.bin. then, repackage up as an iso with umdgen. see if it works then. :)

I just made this iso, so try this:
Code:

Thanks for this, will try have got a busy couple of days so if I don't get back to you quickly I will let you know as soon as I've had chance to test.[emoji106]

I understand. last week was a bad week for me - being sick, power outage, disaster upgrading to windows 10 then downgrading back to windows 7. and, now, I just tried to take a nap, but I didn't fall asleep. :(

Ok managed to try it I'm missing something the iso launches but only let's me browse the iso folder? Do I have to put games in it and recreate the iso?

u could try that or extracting the iso with ultraiso, then placing it in the game folder. ...just need to see if games load with it.

oh, btw, I believe I created a folder named roms on the root. they run fine from there. based on what u said, it seems to use the root location of wherever u've placed the emulator. that must be y it's using the iso folder. I hadn't thought of that when I compiled the iso.

@TOM1211 , I hope that the roms worked. btw, I forgot to mention that with the cma protocol version - change it to automatic if u have a vita or pstv above 3.36. otherwise, u'll get an "update/install a newer version of cma" error on the vita/pstv. with my setup, I have a vita on 3.50 and a pstv on 3.20, so I use open cma with the vita and qcma with the pstv. qcma is also the only one of the two that can transfer over sub folders of saves for installing rejuvenate as well as the only one that allows installing pkg files over the network. good luck. :)

sorry been busy last few days and haven't had much chance to play with it. Yes your help has payed off and is appreciated as snes games are working in the iso i tried extracting it and that way but got corrupt data on it but fine in the iso . really happy with what i (we) have achieved with it so far. one thing can you block the ps vita update downloader on your network?

I'm glad that they're working now. extracting the iso resulted in corrupted data? it might be due to the fact that u've extracted the eboot.pbp into the eboot.bin, boot.bin, icon, and param.sfo. I'm not sure exactly. u can probably block updates through ur router or cc proxy, but I haven't looked much into it. u'd need to input the update, download link. if u look up blocking updates on the wii-u with cc proxy, u can change the update urls to that of sony's. that should work. u'll need ur vita's mac address if u want to block what comes in to the vita fully. ur vita will go through cc proxy to connect to the internet, but the update urls will be blocked. that is how vita update blocker works. u won't be able to use the internet, and probably open cma/qcma without cc proxy being active which is simple. it will record the information of ur system, and u just click on the icon and ur done. the update urls, I believe, r in an xml file. u can find out more about that with @atreyu187 's updating the ps vita manually tutorial. I hope this is helpful. :)

btw, leave the port at 808 since u won't be playing multiple systems at once. vita update blocker uses 8080, which afaik, can't be changed. it's a common proxy port which can/will cause a conflict. I was unable to use mongoose for hosting my own files on the wii-u while also having vita update blocker active. that caused mongoose not to work correctly. u can change mongoose's port with its advanced settings. I changed that to port 12345. not sure what would happen with the wii-u using the proxy and mongoose as the same port which I wouldn't recommend trying. though, u wouldn't be able to connect anyway. u probably just wouldn't be able to connect properly, so it wouldn't leave ur system open. back on topic, try ccproxy. u can lump both vita and pstv by using the group function. that's what I did with my spoofed 5.3.2 and normal 5.5.1 wii-u's. it will defend against the same update urls without u having to do each system. all u need is the mac address. everything else will be the same. if u don't have cc proxy open, u won't be able to connect, so there's nothing to worry about. ;)

@TOM1211 , I discovered yesterday that there was an iso2eboot app which might work for u. u just drop the iso into the folder containing the app and select patch. however, I think it lumps everything into an eboot.pbp including the fonts folder. u could try it anyway if u want to use the game folder.

Okay thanks for your help I haven't tried rejuvenate yet good place to start? Lol. I've managed to put psm dev suite on vita but says needs to update.

neither I nor @atreyu187 have gotten around to doing a rejuvenate tutorial, but hackinformer has an excellent one. the only thing it doesn't say is that u need qcma to transfer over the save data. open cma won't transfer over sub folders.

@TOM1211 , looks like there's a new hack, which is going to be released tomorrow, for vita homebrew. it's called henkaku . it only works on 3.60 for now. I'm personally holding off on updating 'til I see what it is. anyway, it allows file system write access, so the eml trick is no longer needed. it also works with rejuvenate homebrew. though, some homebrew may need to be fixed to run with henkaku, but accordingly, they say it will take minimal effort to do. everything works, and is easier to do than the old hacks/tricks. it also doesn't require a game to perform either. :)

After all that effort lol pleased to see the vita scene moving along but yes I will stay with what we have got till we see what the vita scene is about to get [emoji106]. Exciting time for the vita least it hasn't been forgotten only sony have forgotten about it.

@TOM1211 , yeah, finally something new. the only issue with updating is no pkg installs unless u can access the file system and drop the content in there, then rebuild the database. problem is that we don't have the pkg key, so trying to extract it will result in an error.

    • This tutorial will show you how to block vita updates with CC Proxy. This is a wip.
    PS-Vita.jpg

  • Download ccproxy from its official website.

  • Open ccproxy and click on options to check the http port being used. You may change the port if you wish, but I left it at 808 to prevent any conflicts.

  • Close the options menu, and click on account.

  • In the permit category section, make sure it says permit only. For auth type, select mac address.

  • Now, click on web filter.

  • Select new. Now, name the web filter. Make sure site filter and forbidden sites is selected. In the box below, copy and paste this:

    Code:
    http://djp01.psp2.update.playstation.net;*psp2.updptl.np.community.playstation.net

These are the sony update servers. Select save and close web filter..

  • Now, you should still be in the account tab. Select new.

  • Name your new account. Type in the mac address of your ps4 (mac sure mac address/host name is enabled). Check web filter. Select the web filter that you created. Now, click save and ok to close the new account.

  • On your ps4, select custom for your internet connection. Select the default options until you get to proxy. In the proxy section, select use. Now, type in the ip address of your computer. You can find this by going into command prompt and typing

    Code:
    ipconfig /all

Next, select the port that you created in the options section.

  • Now, test if it worked by trying cma. You should still be able to access the internet as well. Let me know if you encounter any other update servers. You can check with cc proxy. Click on the green area of the main menu and copy and paste the url for the psv (or whatever you named the account). That's why this is a wip. I'm not sure if I have every update server listed. Enjoy!
