Nevermind my fault.okay have managed the update process [emoji106]. Am on 3.18. Where to next? Thanks for help so far.

I'll be honest I've probably done it a far riskier way.

Followed the tutorial for Charles proxy on here.
Set up vita clicked update version 3.60 found start download cancelled it. Changed the update location to the 3.18 local file.
Switch vita off and on go back to system update version 3.60 found but we know I've changed where the pup comes from click okay let it do it's thing can see Charles proxy sending the data reboot 3.18 working.

Dude if you ever need to update again check my guide for updating via QCMA no need for that drawn out process. But regardless gald to see you got it sorted. If I had to though i would push to 3.51 as with EML, Rejuvenate and TheFlow's PS1 bubbles there is no real need for 3.18 anymore. You can make PSP & PS1 bubbles. One can also redirect PKG files via Mr gas method. Which means you can do everything 3.18 can and play newer games.

Okay CMA still just won't work always asks for an update [emoji849] plus tried one of 3.52 and that works fine so something funny going on with it

if over wifi, go through the cma setup again; if over usb, enable airplane mode. if u still get the update nag in airplane mode, restart the system.

First things first. Go to settings and make sure your proxy is setup. Then put in air plane mode and power off the Vita. From here start up Vita update blocker then start your CMA client. Must be either OpenCMA or qCMA. I suggest qCMA but if so make sure the proper mode is selected for your firmware. Once you have the blocker running and yoy are sure your CMA is setup and running properly turn on your Vita then connect to CMA. Then transfer your files you need.

I'd also check if u can connect to the ps3 over cma...if it still says u need to update. it sounds like it's locked into memory. I'll check my pstv with cma to see if I encounter the same problem. I need to resync it anyway. it'll have to wait until I'm doing transferring the playstation plus games from the ps3 to my vita though. ;)

I forgot to mention that I'm using open cma atm, so I'll try that when I test the pstv.

Thanks I've tried removing everything on pc but yep id bet its somehow locked into its memory that it has seen a better update.[emoji849] tried open cma and qcma.

both open cma and qcma work for me on 3.20 with the pstv:

change the cma protocol in qcma to 1800010.

It cant "lock" into memory. It can have driver conflicts with OpenCMA and qCMA installed but like the post above you just needed to co figure qCMA properly or with OpenCMA install the proper build.

;) glad it worked for u.

Yes not sure if this is a silly mistake but either way thanks for both your time in helping me update to a newer firmware and get things going.[emoji106][emoji106]

p.s. Now with Google mail not working any tips on email suggestions? And I have a backup on pc is there anyway to reload it into qcma? As the vita doesn't see it. Thanks again[emoji106]

Does this mean I would be able to install the Vita Media Center pkg on PSTV 3.52? Sorry if it's a redundant and/or stupid question.

it's not working? how do u mean? u can't connect. the email information, I believe, is in the system.dreg. that is backed up with qcma/open cma, yes.

Just because google mail now doesn't support the lower end encryption in the email app of older vita firmware.
