PS VITA / PS TV Pinky's PS Vita Tutorials

it looks like I'm missing some update servers. it still asks me to update if I go to system update. cma works without issues though. I don't think I can get the update server url unless I actually update. I see in my logs that my ps4 and my wii-u r trying to connect to the update servers and failing. lol! forbidden sites will be displayed in red with the account name being to the left. right now, I have 3 update servers for the vita, so I'd appreciate if someone could let me know what the other update servers r. the ps4 has over 10, so there r probably several more.

I've added installing the smallest game possible tutorial. apparently, it works for any psp/ps1 game as long as ur psp has the license. Adrenaline doesn't care if u use a fake license, but Ark does. that's y I included the psp transfer method. I have 3 evil lord demos installed on both my psv and pstv for adrenaline, ark, and vhbl by cloning the game. it takes a bit of time, but ur using a 6.9MB game. it only takes time if u want to change the graphics, add text, and change the main executable which I've included in the tutorial. each of my games lists the name and the dev who made it possible. each also has unique graphics. none of this was hard to do if u can use photoshop, manipulate the app.db, and drop the files in the app meta. :-P

a couple photos of what u can do with my last tutorial. u can add custom icons, backgrounds, and text. u kinda have to if u don't want the stuff from the games u've used. ark and vhbl's pboot is used to replace icons/background/names, but u don't have that option with adrenaline. u may not even have that option with ark and vhbl if ur installing a pkg of the game/demo considering u can't transfer the game to and from the pc. it will get stuck at close to 100% unfortunately. I tried it. u may be able to backup the entire memory card though. I need to do that especially after my last fiasco with a virtual wii/wii drive.

my latest tutorial is obsolete it would seem including the others since there's now an app to do all of them. :-P check this out. I never saw @atreyu187 post it, but u no longer need a psp game for adrenaline, but u do need to be activated. this app creates a 3.5MB game which is smaller than the one atreyu and I were using at 6.9MB (official evil lord demo). u don't need IDU mode or package installer anymore either:
Code:

well, u can still use my last tutorial to install games that u've bought for ur psp. I posted a way to avoid the five-minute limit in idu mode. enjoy. :)

Yea I hadn't gotten around to it I'm afraid but thanks for posting that pinkstuff

yeah, I found out about it on gbatemp. there's a guy there, like u, who knows everything about the system. we were both trying to help a guy with idu mode and package installer. he posted a link to that vpk.

lol...ur using the @UniqueUserName nickname for me. I love it. ;)

moohahahahaha yeah he was... lmao!.. It finally caught on. :D

I made a mistake in the "adding text to your adrenaline game's background." with ur app.db, go to ur tbl_livearea and change the style to psmobile. I noticed that mistake when I was readding adrenaline, ark, and vhbl to my pstv today. if u don't change the style to psmobile, no text will display. u must do this for every game u want to add a text overlay for.

I learned something new today. if your henkaku settings (in system settings) mysteriously vanishes, the problem is the henkaku.suprx. the tai config.txt is supposed to link to it, but I'm not sure if it does with enso. it could be a bug. anyway, where you see the henkaku.suprx location, change that to ur0/tai/henkaku.suprx. make sure the file is in there. if it's not, the worst that could happen is henkaku settings not appearing. :)

I forgot to mention that I encountered a strange issue by adding that suprx. my modded app.db would no longer work. I had to backup my new app.db, then redo everything. I tried importing the csv I had created, but it wouldn't work. I figured out the problem. something is wrong with the latest version of sqlitebrowser to where it fails at importing. use sqlitebrowser 3.8.0 if you encounter this problem.

I may have pinpointed the reason the app.db got screwed up on the vita. I'm not sure if I did this before or after making the change to my tai.txt, but I unloaded the id.dat to remove my account id. unfortunately, the account id is all over the place with the vita including in the calendar database. I think the only thing I can do now is a full system format. :( this issue didn't occur with the pstv.

a question on temp reminded me of this:

Untitled2-841533002533.jpg

this is a list of pertinent files or rather their locations. am I missing any @Berion , @kozarovv ? these files should be backed up for both the pstv and the vita just in case. I'm not sure if there are differences between the two outside of the app.db, but they're only a few megs if backing up the appmeta, and even smaller than that without. ;)

I don't remember now, but go into Vita Backup thread and find in attachment XML template for implementation. You can find in this file *all* data paths/files worth to backup.

thanks, man. I just looked at your xml. I'm missing half or perhaps more than half of what you have listed. however, what you have listed may be overkill. ;) I have a lot backed up to two hdds. that includes psv/pstv, ps3, ps4, 3ds, psx, ps2, and 360 stuff. I've backed up the important files from all of them. ..but I'm probably missing some for all of them too

do you know if the system.dreg contains all of the information involving cma? I know you can make cma's for any system using it. I also figured out that the system.ireg seems to be for decrypting the .dreg only and doesn't contain this information. the reason I ask is say you had to restore the system - would you be able to get your profile back by swapping the .dreg? if I'm not mistaken, you must have a cma id present in order to transfer over the content. I remember attempting to use qcma without an aid, and it wouldn't work. I think the cma id is derived from the account id somehow since they're both unique. ;)

I never used CMA as I cannot use it without updating fw. I'm trying QCMA but it want from me the same so I decided to forget about this. However, yes, NP Account ID have some connection with CMA Backup Key for sure. But I don't think so it's wrote somewhere (rather calculate on the fly). NPAID is inside IREG/DREG which are equivalent of xRegistry.sys from PS3 and REG on PSP.

It is a shame that @Joel16 doesn't finished VBUP. Everything would be created/restored automatic without any CMA junk but with keeping archive/archives open. ;)

he's probably busy with his studies. I've been on his ass about that. ;)

I decrypted a full cma backup a while back, and iirc, it only contains data from ux0 and ur0, so the registry is untouched. however, I think there's a way around it as the registry appears to be written to a text file. I remember reading about changing the confirm button using a qcma backup by way of this text file. I think it's a ur0 location or so it says. :-P

Yeah, I fully understand that.

So I have no idea then. But I think that cloning systems is easier with full keys/ids/configs in case they are portable. System Backup in PS3 teach me to not trust Sony in backup manners so I figure out myself how to successfully clone one environment to another. ;p

the vita is crazy. I think those high priced memory cards and the fact that you had to use cma to do anything is what killed the system.

the difficult part about backing up those files is not knowing if you're getting all of the pertinent files, if all of them are needed, and separating them so that they don't get mixed up. that's why I separated them into folders named after their locations. it's even more irritating that I have to do this for both the pstv and the vita. I know that the account id is in things like the calendar database as well based on what I've read on psdevwiki's vita page. if the memory card gets that corrupted, it's probably best to start over or at least have a backup handy. that's why I've backed up each game with qcma, a full backup with qcma, and a normal backup of the micro sd/usb stick. this is to make sure nothing gets left behind or forgotten. I'm not really sure why I put so many stress on myself with all of these backups especially if I don't play the systems.

I did that with the 3ds, in fact today. I make a NAND backup each time I install something. now that Nintendo has found a way to see if you're on cfw whether it's cert or tik files, I quickly downgraded back. I didn't realize that the NNiD and the online network were two different things either (doing more reading). I doubt I'll merge the two since my 3ds is hacked but my switch isn't which brings me back to the fact that I don't even game on systems that I hack or exploit. I mean I bought a sandisk connect for the ps4, and aside from testing it, I've neither updated to 5.05 (tested on 4.55) nor played a game. it could come in handy though for when I do play the ps4 since I can update the offline cache using it, so my system never has to be online and risk updating ;) the range of the thing - I laid it on my bed about five feet away and the signal dropped. I don't think it's interference, but I placed it next to my system on a shelf just to be sure. no issues there. :-P

I learned something new about the vita. I deleted my id.dat, since I thought something was wrong with my aid, despite qcma working and detecting my games on my pc. the account id was correct/the same as the old id.dat. I looked in the system.dreg (downloaded fixreg_vita again, then made a backup of it on 3 hdds). I decrypted the file, then looked for the cma alphanumeric. I found it, but the account id was not present in the file, so I don't know where it gets that number from.

anyway, it rebuilt the database (didn't remove folders or anything), and the firmware listed was 3.70. it was 3.68 before, so firmware, spoofed or not, must determine this. I'm on 3.65 spoofed to 3.70. the software version of the id.dat must be ignored. anyway, I injected my old id.dat again. I had thought it was derived from signing into psn, since I was spoofed at the time (apparently to 3.68 when I abandoned my banned account and made a new one). I think the cma id is derived from the account id. I originally thought that they were one in the same.

upon closer examination, after deleting the id.dat and having it be recreated, it rebuilt the database. all apps/games/folders were sorted like I had it, but customization was undone. I had customized icons on the pstv with a customized theme. the theme was left intact, but the customized icons were undone. the app.db has theme locations for each icon. it also has the location of all game/app icons. the icon0.dds, which is what each app uses for its icon, were rescanned as it rebuilt the database. my customized icons are icon0.png, so fI had to add them to the appmeta of ur0 and change .dds and .png for each icon I changed in the app.db. instead of redoing it, I injected a backup of my appmeta, overwriting everything, and the app.db on ur0. now, everything is back to the way it was.

speaking of the system.dreg, on my old account, I changed the cma id to all 0s and reencrypted and injected it. qcma created a folder of all 0s correctly, but the system forced a format upon reboot. I wonder if that has to do with the account id of the id.dat? does anyone know where the account id is located? it must get it from somewhere, 'cause the id.dat is recreated with the correct id. maybe the system derives the id from the cma id? the account id is only added once you sign in to psn. since it.s related to the cma id, that could be the reason why qcma doesn't work without one. I'm assuming an account that's never signed into psn will be blank in the id.dat, so it may not be able to create a cma id without it. I couldn't find a whole lot of information about the account or cma id on vitadevwiki or how they relate to each other.

edit: unless I'm misunderstanding, vitadevwiki says that the cma id and the np aid are the same, but this doesn't appear to be the case for my account. I tried looking in the calendar.db, and the np account id is blank. on another page, it says that the id used by content manager and the account id are related (i.e. one is derived from the other) and not the same. the information on this is limited, vague, and confusing.
