Pinky’s PS3 Tutorials

I edited tex_line and it still stayed white. I am making everything orange btw. I have a video of how my xmb looks so far

Nice look! But a lot more can be done with icons :)

Here are files that can be one of you looking for:

  • tex_optionmenu_game
  • tex_optionmenu_line
  • tex_msgdialog_bar
  • tex_infobar
I don't have possibility to test. But for now i have access to win pc so i can search. You can also try to edit xml (backup first) to move objects and then look which object name is moving border, and then found image files that are used.

I dont wanna really mess with moving the icons because 1. I have a dual boot ps3 and reinstalling cfw will make me have to double install ofw on my other HDD, and 2. I have no experience actually moving the icons. Also all i wanted to do was color that last portion because i dont want TOO much orange lol. So i will try editing those later and i ll let u know if its the correct files.

Turns out i had every single line in the RCO colored orange, (including the ones you mentioned) and the border is still white to me. So its definately not in system_plugin.rco Any other suggestions?

Maybe explore_plugin_full

Ohhh lol. So I'm also guessing to get it in-game i have to edit xmb_ingame.rco as well?

yes. the system_plugin.sprx toggles the clock, but the clock box is toggled between both xmb plugins. I can't recall the name of the sprx, but the normal sprx isn't called the same thing as the rco. anyway, yes, that should work.

edit: btw, u can change the digital clock to orange with the same two rco files.

Yeah i saw you had a tutorial for it, but i m debating if it ll end up with too much orange lol. But if i do, do i edit the xml which i can create with any name? Or the ones that come with languages?

Thanks! I followed your tutorial and i got it orange! One last thing i am trying to accomplish. I saw in i think explore_plugin_full, that you could possibly change sounds as well. I tried to get the trophy sound to the COD W@W promotion sound, but I couldnt figure out how to convert a sound file into a VAG file i think it was. Do you perhaps know how?

Just use the Theme creator and use a .wav sound file then compile it and decompile again and it shoud be a .vag then u can use it
Theme Builder look at the install carefull!

u can with rcomage (not the gui). rcomage gui comes with rcomage, so go into that folder and open up a command line. I can't recall what the command line is, but just type in rcomage and hit enter to see its list.

To avoid losing all your customs from reinstalling your CFW. You can unpack the CFW .PUP you are using, and copy/paste the edited files overwriting the originals. Then repack the .PUP and name it something so you know it is the custom one.

Then you can use the Orange Custom CFW .PUP if you ever need to reinstall your firmware on your CFW side. Installing OFW on your OFW side of dual boot will not change anything on your CFW.

It was rcomage vagenc, but i tried it with a sound i downloaded from the internet (in .wav file) , and its telling me rcomage 's vag compiler doesnt support the structure of the file I gave it :/

Edit: I also tried the PS3 Theme manager, and that is telling to me it is an invalid .wav format :\
If anyone can possibly convert this
to a vag format that would be great. And yes I downloaded it as a .wav file

I'm not sure about that. u could try XviD4PSP to convert the wave. it won't convert to vag, but u could try to reconvert it to another form of wave.

got that, tried everything. Still nothing lol. Rcomage now stops working when I enter it in. Why is it so hard to convert a .wav to a .vag omg lol

This is the input I am entering by the way : "rcomage vagenc trophy_converted.wav snd_trophy.vag"
