Here is a cool mod for 4.81 PS3 Custom Firmware user's as psx-place memeber LuanTeles has put together and released a suite of XMB modifications that he has dubbed the PS3 PRO MOD.   • Hey Guys, I made a little mod for PS3 to PS3 PRO as long now we have PS4 PRO, and our PS3 (w/ CFW) just does everything better than a regular PS3 so i created this PS3 PRO MOD


    The Mod Contains
    • PS3 PRO Coldboot
    • PS4 Boot Sound
    • PS4 XMB Sounds
    • PS3 strings changed to PS3 PRO
    • Some Custom Icons
    • PS3 PRO Gameboot
    • PS4 Gameboot Sound

Its not working, the PS3 boot logo dissapeared and there is no sound boot too, nobody using the Classic playstation3 gameboot on 4.81.2 cfw? i have (4.81 HABIB)

u can use the classic gameboot if u transfer over the game_ext_plugin.sprx and not the custom_render_plugin.rco. it should appear automatically then.

Iirc they shorted the animation time so is not going to be played exactly like the original
lets say... if the original was 1.5 seconds... the new one is 0.5 seconds... so is going to be played only the start of it
The animation is the same though... but shorter
 
I think u can modify it back. iirc, the custom render plugin.rco's main xml has the times printed out. 1000=1 second from what I remember. u can also do this with coldboots through their script. I've not personally messed with either. the custom render plugin.rco has the times printed for not only the gameboot but coldboot1. coldboot2 is what's displayed during an initial coldboot while coldboot 1 is what's displayed when u first turn on the console before initial setup I believe. iirc sony added coldboot 1 and 2 to 2.76 and below ofw. they're all located in the same location. I'm not sure if coldboot1 used a script of its own or used what's in the custom_render_plugin.rco. it seems that instead of removing chunks of code for the ps3, sony just left them in and opted instead to disable them.

when I ran the initial gameboot audio and video, it seemed to run fine. I didn't know it needed to be longer, but u can kinda tell that based on the size of the audio tracks. I don't know if modifying the times in the custom render plugin.rco will actually work or not. it's supposed to, and I think it did on 3.55.
 
btw, u can check out a coldboot's script if u look at my tutorials. I have one decoded in one of the links. it's actually 1.000 equals 1 second. note: colored coldboots don't seem to have time signatures, only a white coldboot does. u can modify how long it fades in and out or displays the entire coldboot. I'm not sure if there r limits (probably r) as I've never really messed with them. they're near the top of the script in case u want to find them.
 
I test the 1.0 version, my Install Package disapear :( and it frezze when i want to make a transfert with RJ45 cable :(

it dissapeared because i removed it lol, since most of the users are using the XMBM+ the need of the Install Package is no more needed.

U can edit the category_game.xml, I disabled it with a simple <!-- --> tag, so u can easily restore this, or u can use the QA combo to enable it on Settings Column but it will install all available pkgs inside the root

It is very easy to add install pkg back, you just need to edit your category_game.xml + category_game_tool2.xml files & add the appropriate entries as they were originally. It takes 2 mn.
Use a side by side file comparing tool to make the job easier & open both your current category_game.xml & the one from the mod, you will see what's missing! Same thing for category_game_tools2.xml.
Btw there is a notepad++ addon that can do the comparison if you don't want another tool.

The parts to be added back are easily recognised because you will see names like "seg_pkg_install" or "seg_install_package", you cannot miss them.

Edit: OK it's even easier if LuanTeles commented the xml fragments... [emoji6]

What do you mean by LAN "transfer"?
A copy through ftp ? Internet ? Ps3netsrv ?

Ok but do the freezes occur only when you use the mod or all the time?
If the freezes are unrelated to the mod, you should create a new thread to describe the steps that lead to the issue.

I think he means putting app_home and install pkg files back. they're both negated in the category_game.xml and category_game_tool2.xml. look for this section to get them back:

game debug is app home, so if u want to leave that as is, don't remove the necessary characters. emulate the way the others look to correct.
 
Hello guys, long time no see.
Wanted to report this when I install this mod and I change user, the ps3 freezes. 4.81 CFW cobra 7.50 ferrox
 
So far iirc there's one report on Habib & now another on Ferrox...
Do these issues only happen on non Rebug CFW.. ??
I would just like to say the mod is working fine for me as described earlier in this post I did not use the xmb folder in the zip file all is fine only prob is when I mess with my theme settings system freezes other than that all is fine. I used my original .xml witch I asum is already in rebug 4.81.2 rex. Cechg01,cobra7.52,webman4.45.09,rebug tool box 13,mm4.81.2base.
