4.81 CEX
update-my ps2 games appears to be working using webman but game disc and multiman still not working.

I meant which firmware are you using REBUG REX, Ferrox?

You could make a thread in the PS3 forums about this as this mod doesn't cause the issue's you seem to be having, not on CEX anyways to my knowledge. Or read back through some of the posts on this thread to see if anyone has had the same issue's as you and if their was any solution for it.....

If it was DEX you where on and you have CCAPI installed it will cause the issue's you are having, homebrew not launching, games not launching.

Have you tried using the restore option in this, then trying again to install this mod? which one did you choose out of the 2 Pro or 4K Pro?
Or possibly re-installing your firmware to wipe this mod from your flash memory then trying again?

  • I'm on Rebug 4.82 CEX. Before I installed the mod (not sure which one, Pro version I think), I didn't have any issues. I also didn't backup my system before installing (my bad) so I'm reluctant to wipe everything. If I can't fix this, how do I re-install?
  • I've gone through the thread but there doesn't seem to be a definite answer on how to fix this.

The app automatically makes a backup of the dev_flash file's it overwrites. Launch the PS4 4K Pro app, then on the main menu there should be a restore option or return to previous use this option, If this doesn't work or the app will not launch then follow below:

Re-installing your firmware won't wipe any data from your PS3, your homebrew apps will still be there, but any xmb mods and such will be wiped from the flash memory. If you have the CFW PUP file for REBUG then do this:

Make sure the internet connection on the PS3 is disabled in Network Settings and there are no disc in the Bluray Drive.

On a USB flash drive that is formatted to FAT32 MBR (not GPT) make a folder called PS3 then in that folder make another on called UPDATE and put the REBUG PUP file in here and it must called PS3UPDAT.PUP.

Then on the xmb, got to Settings, then to System Update, then Update via Storage Media and the PS3 will do the rest, should take about 20 - 30 mins to re-install the firmware. After that all traces for the mod will be gone and you can try again with the mod. Not that CCAPI gets disabled when you do this so just open CCAPI then do a quick re-install of it and your sorted.

Thanks for your help and the info! I verified I have the Pro version but the CCAPI Uninstaller and Pro 4k app won't open. I keep getting the black screen of death. Should I install the package again and use the restore option from there? Or just re-install rebug?

At this point I would re-install REBUG, it will wipe PS3 Pro from the flash memory, if you install the mod pkg again you will just get the same result, black screen on launch of apps and games. Also if you want to use the mod stop using CCAPI. It sould work with CCAPI on CEX but for some reason its not working for you.

I take it you have CCAPI installed for modding games like BO1 + 2? or do you use it to spoof your IDPS and PSID? re-installing your firmware will remove CCAPI as well and any spoof you are using with it such as setting PSID and IDPS at boot.

Ok I'll just reinstall rebug. I only use CCAPI for my rtm tools so I don't have any spoofs. I'm still a noob when it comes to modding. Thanks!

Last question... I have rebug 4.81. Can install rebug 4.82 without issue?

Get some GSC menus for COD, or gametype GSC menus for them, much more fun, the hunger games is a good gsc gametype for BO2.

Absolutely, one thing with REBUG when install over another REBUG it is best to do it twice in a row, there have been known issue's with this in the past. Also this is the firmware i use but i use DEX. way better mods and way more mods work with DEX.

I'll give it a try. I like the in-game menus. I have one for GTA4 but there aren't many for some of the games I play like Watchdogs or MGSV. Thanks!

Don't you need a new PSID to go from CEX to DEX?

No you need to dump whats called your EID root key to convert your PS3 from CEX to DEX. Having a different IDPS and PSID from another busted PS3 is always good idea when on CFW as you can use them to stop your PS3 from being banned, the PSID and IDPS you use would be banned, but your account you where using would still be banned though, never use a PSN account that has paid content linked to it to mod online or you loose it when you get banned, not your PS3 would not be banned but you would then have to either get another IDPS and PSID, or start using the originals again.

And the same goes if the PS3 is banned, you can use the PSID and IDPS from another PS3 that's not banned to un ban the one thats banned. Mostly dev use DEX.

Ok I'll do some research and try to convert to DEX. Luckily I still have my old ofw PS3 here in case.

I did the reinstall twice with Rebug. It's not quite back to normal but close enough... apps are working. My webman app is still under the "File Manager" app from the Pro mod. Any thoughts on how I can get it out of the folder or remove file manager?

Yes I should of mentioned that this is the only thing that remains and this is because it is on the HDD and is apart of XMBM+. To remove this it would be best to use another backup manager such as multiMAN, also after doing this it may be necessary to re-install webman as this app has essentially replaced it.

You need to use the file manager option in multiman or another app, go to dev_hdd0/games and look for a folder called XMBMANPLS, its normally the last one at the bottom, and delete the folder, then reset your ps3, then install webman again if it has gone.

It might seem a bit long winded but PS3 4K pro changes so many files its a mission to get a ps3 back to the way it was manually if you couldn't get access to the backup the app makes. But now you have changed the firmware it will delete the back up it made.

Its quite a simple process to convert to DEX. I know what i would be doing with an old PS3, dumping the IDPS and PSID off it and using it. Its actually what i have done, I don't use my SuperSlim online anymore so I amusing the PSID and IDPS on my Slims on CFW.

Also if Package Manager is not back where it should be on the xmb, this will need sorting out as well.

Sounds to me as if "File Manager" is an edited version of XMBM+, check your game folder on your internal hdd for the folder XMBMANPLS. Delete that folder and it should go away. Reason for it still being there after a reinstall of REBUG CFW is because XMBM+ was added by default by @Joonie

It is and its exactly where you said it would be, the only other issue is that it moves Package manager away from the main game column. so either reinstalling REBUG (again lol) after deleting the folder or editing the catagory_game.xml will bring it back as its only been disabled in there by putting <-- at the start and --> at the end of the entry (if i remember correctly after pulling the mod to bits :D) in the xml causing it to disappear, then re install webman and its back to normal.

I needn't talk I moved Package manager to the network column, and the same with the Whats new on PSX-PLACE mod. :D

Ok I deleted the folder. But that weird menu "Meus Jogos" is still there :| My game lists is there but that's it. My webman app/ settings folder looks like it disappeared. I reinstalled but the app doesn't appear. Checked and webman is enabled. Should I disable before removing?

Can someone tell me what files you replaced in order to get the ps4 xmb sounds when you scroll through the menu options?

It will be in the theme .p3t file.

The built in webMAN has been removed from this version of REBUG (though the option still appears in the toolbox if you have it installed) use webMAN MOD standalone installer to get it back properly, then check the " boot_plugins.txt " and the prx_plughin.txt " in dev_hdd0 and make sure that " webftp_sever.sprx " is listed or webman won't boot.

This has been removed from the latest version of REBUG.
still lists this on the site:
FEATURE – XMBM+ Compatibility
(XMB Manager Plus developed by Team XMBM now supported via standalone pkgs.)

and when I updated my custom XMBM+ still shows up, i can investigate further but seems like it still there
