Looks like I may have got thew wrong end of the stick, its webman that was removed from REBUG so you have to install it separately. how thick can I get lol.... :rolling:

The built in webMAN has been removed from this version of REBUG (though the option still appears in the toolbox if you have it installed) use webMAN MOD standalone installer to get it back properly, then check the " boot_plugins.txt " and the prx_plughin.txt " in dev_hdd0 and make sure that " webftp_sever.sprx " is listed or webman won't boot.

Thanks! I used the stand alone installer but still no webman. I checked the boot_plugins.txt and webftp is listed. But where do I find the prx_plughin.txt? There are no files in my plugins folder.

prx_plugin.txt is only for if you're using Mamba

I have just had the same problem lol, after re-installing REBUG after soft bricking my PS3 experimenting with the XMB. Instead of fafing on moving files manually with a file manager I do this.....

In the REBUG Toolbox I enable REBUG Mode (Its on all the time anyway, but it needs to be on to do this) Then I use PSN Patch to install the webMAN plugin that come's with it, by going into the Apps toolbox by pressing " SELECT " ( you should see the option in the bottom left hand corner of the screen when you open the app, under " COBRA 4.82 R " ) Once in the toolbox you will see the option " LFT install webMAN plugin "....press left on the D-PAD and a little * should appear next to it to tell you the option has been selected. The press " START " to install and reboot the PS3.

Then I use the webMAN MOD installer to update the version that PSN Patch has installed to the full up to date version by holding L1 till the PS3 restarts. You should then have it installed.

If it still not working after this then you need to check the boot plugin text again and possibly manual make the entry in this file.

What I do when experimenting with XMB mods is make sure both dev_blind and ftp are enabled through webMAN, that way you can change the bad edited file back and just restart, then XMB should load back up without reinstalling CFW.

Normally I do but this one caused a soft brick at boot, just black screen and the power button just beeped tree times in rapid succession when pressed. tired to connect with FileZilla to webMAN but nothing lol. had no choice this time. I have webMAN set to enable writing to dev_blind as well on boot along with the fan control. Since the fan didn't kick to the speed its set to i thought that FTP wasn't going to work but still give it a shot just in case.

The thing was that what I did i had done with other another style of mod and it worked so i thought...right time to change the style so there's more options instead of the one, but for some stupid reason the PS3 took a fit with this one. Worked fine on the XMB but when i switched it to load with the gameboot..... PS3 says no....

PS3 will stop acting like it has MPD (multiple personality disorder) or it will get used for target practise. This particular one of my 3 does what it wants, when it wants and at random times. Needs swift kick in the CPU ( Or CELL in this case )

Well 4 if you include my DECH4000A, but that's not working at the minute and I cannot be bothered to fix it (needs a new PSU as omeone spilt water on it and fried it, I know the console still works as i tried the PSU out of my other super slim and got my eye on two more CECH2003A Slims for £140 for the pair.

A little on the steep at £70 each. That would mean I would have 4 PS3 slims of the same model CECH2003A's, already got 2 of them and the other is a CECH4003A 12GB on 4.82 ofw (no HAN) that's being used as a bluray player because the BT is fried on it or games if i have any LAN link matched on COD or any other game.

I did everything you suggested and followed to the letter but my ps3 is not cooperating. My system was running perfect and I went and changed the XMB... should have quit while I was ahead. If nothin else I've learned a lot!

Did you re-enable Cobra and REBUG Mode in the REBUG toolbox? I'll get to the bottom of it as I have done that 100 time's and it works lol.

I know the prx_plugins are for mamba but you could try making a prx_plugins.txt and copy whats in the boot txt i posted to it and put it in the same place as the boot txt. worth a shot.

After I did the install you suggested with PSN, I still don't see it only weird pro mod menu but the fan is running like webman is there. Should I put in this file on the dev_hh0 to replace the original?

The install should of removed that webman icon in Portuguese, if the fan is running like webman then you should be able to open the settings menu. you can try it. move the one that's there to another place just in case, you need it, then use that boot text I put up. also try and make a prx one as well and copy the whats in the boot text to it. and put that in the same place.

Also what do the icons look like in the webman games folder when PSN Patch installs the plugin they should look like coloured PS3 default user icons. That's when you know its installed the plugin properly. then when you install the webMAN mod they will all have icons with the names in...PS3..PS2...PSone...BD and such.

Also you could look for the back up the mod made when you installed it PS34Kpro. Look in dev_hdd0/games/ find the folder for the app, it will be some where near the bottom, and look for a folder in it that's called backups. should be in folder USRDIR under apps. if its there then i can tell you how to do a manual restore of the xmb, as i am now getting baffled.

I fixed it! I replaced the boot_plugin txt and restarted but no change. I couldn't even use the pro 4k mod backup because I deleted completely (had to take my angry out on something). I found this video on youtube showing how to completely remove webman and reinstalled. Webman icons are back... finally

Glad you got it sorted, that would have been complicated to explain how to completely re-move it then re-install in typing. Sometime's the manual approach is the best.

Especially from youtube, normally a lot of them vids are full of crap and miss things out but there are a few where people made them to genuinely help people, know what they are doing and not just are there to score hits on the vids which is the norm on there.

Thanks for your help though! I'm going to upgrade my internal hdd next. I bought a 1tb external drive but it's not working out how I intended. Can I buy any 2.5 SATA internal hdd? I searched a few sites and watched some videos for hdd upgrading... looks simple enough.
