PS3 HAN PS3Xploit v3 Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers

Now Supports 4.84 HFW!

PS3Xploit Team has unveiled the latest progression in the form of an experimental Tool (Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers) for PS3Xploit v3 HAN user's (tools compatible with CFW also), with the release of REBUG REX that means a 4.82 DEX Firmware is out in the wild and that means with 4.82 DEX files, PS3 HAN user's will not have some added features and was one of the reasons why developer HABIB was suggesting user's stay on 4.81 for use of these DEX features as the status was unknown if a public 4.82 DEX would emerge, but with REBUG REX CFW release, the various files for swapping can be done, but devs will lend more details about that throughout this thread.

  • PS3Xploit v3 Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers

This tool is released for experimentation purposes only, it is not meant to be installed by every HAN user!

DO NOT TRY SIGNING INTO PSN WHILE DEX ENABLED, YOU CAN/WILL GET BANNED!

CHANGE YOUR NP ENVIRONMENT (thanks @Joonie) to invalid or anything else and reboot to block PSN access.

This is a set of 3 tools for installing and swapping Debug Settings Files in flash

DEX XML Files Have Support For PS3Xploit/HAN Toolbox XML Menus

NOTE: Once Installed, You Have A DEX Hybrid and Must Choose DEX Checkbox To Use Exploits or Will Freeze! Restoring Is Simple, Just Replace Files With CEX For Your FW Version!

    WARNING!
This has the potential to corrupt your system and require you to install OFW (Original Firmware) if not used correctly!
    How To Access Recovery said:
Power Down PS3 With The Power Button
Insert USB Stick Into PS3 w/OFW PUP in Correct Folder (/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP)
Push and HOLD Power Button (one beep) Until PS3 Shuts Itself Off (1 single beep + another single beep)
LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON
From Power Off State, Push Power Button (one beep) and HOLD until you hear a single beep, then a double beep
LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON

Mounting a partition requires using a syscall which is available from ROP on CEX OFW. Its use is completely unrelated to HAN.
The syscall takes 3 parameters, the partition, the file system type & the mount path.

We use that syscall to mount /dev_blind in order to copy HAN support files or the Debug Settings support files for instance.

You don't need to switch to DEX vsh in order to mount a partition. CEX vsh will allow mounting all the same.

Right , so yesterday when i finished downloading a dirt bike game on ps3 called mxgp , so for the next step to play this game on ofw 4.82 exploit version i just need convert and then repackage converted file , but the problem is BLES01984 can't convert to ofw ,very disappointing , till i found video from jason borowski , where we can mount usb as bd , then i'll copy downloaded BLES01984 to a usb & mount usb to a bd on PETT menu while on the progres in the web page says "pexploit running on CEX mode" then web page browser close confirmation show up that mean xploit succes and then i close the browser and back to xmb looks like nothing happen i didn't see disc game image .
sorry my english so terrible

I assume that the game does not have updates & no PSN version exists??

Mounting /dev_usb000 as /dev_bdvd on ofw is totally experimental for starters. Nobody said such a hack would work "out of the box" to allow running games from usb, if this can even work at all. It would require further investigation.

Additionally PETT is not a tool you should actually use for this, it's a tutorial to learn the exploit basics & experiment with it. Also iirc there is no validation on PETT to find out whether the mounting succeeded either.
The best way to find out if the usb partition gets mounted & can be accessed via the /dev_bdvd mount point is to use DEX (true DEX!) & the ProDG debugger or Target Manager.
Another way to find out if the partition was mounted is to check the contents of /dev_bdvd with the file explorer in HAN Toolbox.

Btw don't be sorry, your English is not terrible, not at all! ;)

No. If there is only a disc, no game updates & no PSN version then the game files you are using are all retail disc type & consequently incompatible with HAN which is a npdrm games exploit only.
Mounting as /dev_bdvd is an option to explore, if it does not work, you will need to wait for a new exploit... Sorry..

Well, we will investigate the /dev_bdvd mounting option properly & IF it turns out to be usable, you can expect us to release a new tool to leverage the feature in a v4.0 tools update roll out to be released in the coming weeks.
If not, you will have to wait & see how our work on kernel exploitation pans out.
Either way, we are working on solving your current problem so there is no guarantee but there is hope... ;)

so it is possible to mount dev/usb00 as BD if I switch my CECH 4000C console CEX to DEX ?
is possible @esc0rtd3w
the mounting all works on DEX/CEX, just as @bguerville said, its just a syscall

the only reason i made that video to show off mounting usb000 as bdvd is because i knew people would think they can just play games out of the box, and i am an asshole and find humor in that :)
