PS3Xploit Team has unveiled the latest progression in the form of an experimental Tool (Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers) for PS3Xploit v3 HAN user's (tools compatible with CFW also), with the release of REBUG REX that means a 4.82 DEX Firmware is out in the wild and that means with 4.82 DEX files, PS3 HAN user's will not have some added features and was one of the reasons why developer HABIB was suggesting user's stay on 4.81 for use of these DEX features as the status was unknown if a public 4.82 DEX would emerge, but with REBUG REX CFW release, the various files for swapping can be done, but devs will lend more details about that throughout this thread.

  Power Down PS3 With The Power Button
  Insert USB Stick Into PS3 w/OFW PUP in Correct Folder (/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP)
  Push and HOLD Power Button (one beep) Until PS3 Shuts Itself Off (1 single beep + another single beep)
  LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON

     4.84 HFW: Download Debug Settings Installer ZIP archive
  2. Extract the files
  
  to install DEX files + VSH: use files from INSTALL folder and run debug_settings_installer.html
  
  to install CEX files + VSH: use files from RESTORE folder and run debug_settings_installer.html
  
  Main Installation:
  
  • Place all files matching your FW version and desired target [CEX/DEX] on USB flash drive or select one of the internal HDD options**

  Change Debug Settings Menu To CEX/DEX:
  
  • DEX is used as default settings and ONLY use this to swap between CEX/DEX versions of menu

probably needs XML updated for the DEX version for it to show up

I haven't tried much with my ps4 aside from updating it to 4.55. I have been asking a few questions though such as what happens if you use fake signed pkg of a theme, turn the system off, then back on again. would the theme stick if you're not using hen or would it revert back to whatever theme you were using? surely, it's been tried before, so I'm curious. I want the dq theme for my dq system since the theme download code had already been used.

Install firmware through recovery

My Ps3 Super Slim 4.82 Model CECH 4xxxC Wont go into recovery mode. I tried the Hold power stuff to here the 2 beeps but nothing.

possibility HDD got problem. u need to take out and reformat outside,, or change other HDD.

Could you make a tool for extrac a rif file?

Create a backup and extract rif files it using tools TABR. This will be faster when it comes to more 10 files.

Well idk why you can't go into recovery mode. You need to hold the power button until your ps3 turns off and then hold it again until you hear two consecutive beeps

it's not impossible and ever happen to me before. kind of soft brick I guess. cannot go to recovery mode,, even can go through.. it will freeze during restore or rebuild.

I solve that issue with format hdd outside, and reinstall firmware.

Install the CEX swapper files for XMB and debug settings then use the restore files from the release zip.

I got 2 console CEX and DEX,, both 3k and can't jailbreak before due 3.66 min ver. Succeed with PS3 HAN on my CEX... yet stuck with HAN TOOLBOX on DEX...

Only succeed with COLDBOOT on my DEX. If somebody out there have a good knowledge about original DEX,, pls guide me...

I'm pretty sure there are files for that in the release files.

EDIT: there aren't, but maybe a clean reinstall will work, test it out.

I'm pretty sure there are files for that in the release files.

I already go through those. download the latest support file and re-install HAN. I preety sure it's work due COLDBOOT and WAVE already able change. the only thing is HAN TOOLBOX. that's it.
