PS4 (UPDATE v2) PS4HEN Update Blocker Payload by CelesteBlue & LightningMods

Progress continues on the PlayStation 4 since the release of 4.05 Exploit by SpecterDev a little over a month ago, since then we have seen several things make its way to aid the exploit such as PS4HEN (by wildcard) then we seen that followed the flatz unlocking the PS2 Classics on the PS4. We have also seen methods of dumping your PS4 Disc Games/PSN Content like this one from Vortex. We have been seeing alot of progress but still lots to achieve yet in the PS4 scene so it should be a fun journey, but if your on 4.05 and obviously may not want to update to stay on the journey but fear of accidentally installing a firmware update FEAR NO MORE, LightningMods & CelesteBlue have provided a PS4HEN payload combine with Update Blocker to help prevent you from accidentally leaving your v4.05 firmware

  PS4HEN-Update-Blocker-Payload
  This Payload contains Debug settings, Update Blocker, and HEN in 1!​
  
  
  The update blocker creates a folder in /update and unlinks the folder DO NOT REMOVE IT You WILL still get the notification of an update, let the update download to 100% then you will be greeted with a "Cannot Download" message and will not allow you to install the firmware update, so now no worries you cannot update it accidentally... You can use @LightningMods website to inject it without injecting it via PC​

you could've used my ps4 tutorial. it blocks updates. updates seem to use an xml file that connect to an update file just like the vita. I'm hoping that there will be a downgrade method for at least those known exploitable systems of 4.07 and lower. I can use the webkit exploit on 4.07 and supposedly the kernel hack works on that.

according to the dev responsible, the kernel exploit works up to at least 4.07, but he's never released how to do it. he did help with the 4.05 exploit though. you can, however, try the webkit exploit on 4.07. someone ported it over, but without knowledge on how to do the kernel exploit, we can't exploit the system above 4.05. I only say the possibility of a downgrading method since the webkit and possibly kernel exploit works on 4.07. I've personally tested this, and it does in fact work (webkit only).

i can confirm it works, after payload sent the system will download the update but cant install/finish update and stops downloading. it is permanent fix too. from reading the payload creates the update folder and since there is something in it the update wont stick.

 

This is great and gets rid of those " my kid updated it" problems we got with the ps3

No downgrade is available for parts. Going to be a long time before 5.01 is out there

 

Works perfectly . Did anyone have the problem of you couldn't copy saves because your PS4 wasn't activated ?.

 

Anyone got a easy way to get the media player app on 4.05? I haven't got it

interesting. this is not unlike the wii u blocking updates method of simply deleting the update folder on the internal flash. updates then will error.
