Installation Method
Instructions:
1. Copy the UNITY-TV folder for your Unity app version to CMA's PSAVEDATA/<random numbers>/ folder.
2. Copy the savedata to your PSTV ( You will need to use VitaUpdateBlocker )
3. Make sure you have no notifications and are not downloading anything.
4. Rebuild database in recovery.
5. Using Outlook or Thunderbird, forward the eml to your email account.
6. Find any Vita app or game that has an update available, click update, and then pause the download.
7. Open the Email app and click the attachments one at a time.
It should show an error that says it could not display the image. DO NOT click the ok button.
Instead, press home and close the Email app.
8. Once you have installed both files, reboot your PSTV again.
9. Then, continue the download. The download should now be ~5mb. If not, something went wrong.
10. Once downloading is complete, open the Unity app ( You might need to install PSM+ ) and delete the 0000 "app"
11. You should now only have Vita Defiler Client installed in Unity. Now you can cancel the installation notification.

How to update if you have used this method before:
1. Simply FTP the Application & System folders from this pack to cache0:/VitaDefilerClient/
eg. I have Unity 1.06, so the folders and files I need to replace on my PSTV are in Unity 1.06/UNITY-TV/p/VitaDefilerClient/

Troubleshooting:
-To install PSM+ on your PSTV, use the Device ID your Vita assuming you have a Vita as well. (**Hint Youtube can help with this and will not risk anyone's account or system**)

Credits:
mr.gas for the trick
SMOKE for preparing files & writing instructions

**PLEASE NOTE**
PSM Unity v1.05 for 3.20 and below and PSM Unity v1.06 is for firmware 3.36+. Both are included here in the install zip. The latest EML File Generator 0.3 can be found here at Major Tom's github page. Also one MUST use Codestations (Windows & OSX flavors available) QCMA and since the PSTV lacks USB support one must set the app to 3.10, allow connection without internet, spoof with the latest VitaUpdateBlocker by iAmGhost. Both PSTV/Vita need to be on the same wireless network (yes it can be on a mobile hotspot using Vita Defiler reported here earlier today so a PC or Android is also needed pick your poison) in order for PSTV to see QCMA for EML trick. I use the "pportable" version of Thunderbird with my gamil account to send EML file to write to Vita memory card. This took a lot of work to figure out the right settings so I wanted to share and save you some time/heartache. If choosing Android over a PC you may want to have a look at the link I posted earlier here as all tools and apps needed by either PC or Android are covered between the two articles as well as all the latest up to date native Vita side applications. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have.

do u mean for the original pc engine game? there's one. that was before I began studying Japanese though. I lived there for a while as well. I think I may have told u about my ds.

Yea the PC Engine one. Not a big portable gamer at all. In fact my PSP was used as a console and passed on the Vita till the PSTV came out. Only reason I got a DS is I'm a big Castlevania fan, especially the Metroidvania ones and my kid spurred me into the 2DS and 3DS I bought. I'm a console junkie all the way. Love PC games as long as I can emulate it and play on my TV. Never gotten into a PC game on the PC ever.

a lot of my gaming happens on portable systems, since u don't have to devote much time. metroidvania games r fantastic. unfortunately, aside from the mirror of truth, none have really been released on the 3ds. I did like the vania on the ps3/360 though despite not being a metroidvania. it's one of the only games I beat last gen.

Mirror of Fate was damn good but played on PS3 first. And Lords of Shadow was amazing while 2 was so so. But I did enjoy Alucard and the DLC for both. Metroidvania and Hack n Slash are my main playing points though I have been getting absolutely lost for literally 10-14 hours straight on Freedom Wars for Vita and Soul Sacrifice Delta as of late. It has spurred a deep interest in Monster Hunteresque stlye games now as well. Good thing there is a ton on PSP even a JP only translation. The latest is what I'm playing in my 2DS as well as a guilty pleasure of mine Pokemon since the first ones on GBA

Hey atreyu187, I first want to say OMG thank you for the work with THEISOZONE :dancepine: . Second i have a PSTV w/3.50 APE escape exploit, was trying to install the vitadefilerclient w/ the eml file. I transfered the save stuff with vitaupdateblocker and QCMA.Reboot into recovery and rebuild databases. Then i started ZEN pinball update and paused. then i used thunderbird to forward eml to my yahoo account i setup on the email.app. i click one .pdb then press home and exit then repeat with other then home then exit. I restart then continue the download but it doesn't change to different size, still stayed the 23mb it was. PLS help THX

SMOKE tweeted he added a eml to rest local db files so you can retry and get correct size

When size doesn't show 5007Kb, until recently the solution was to format card but SMOKE added a new .eml file to his archive
This .eml allows to reset the local db files allowing to avoid to have to format card
After the reset if you retry the normal procedure it should show up 5007Kb and let you see VitaClientDefiler and 0000 appear in PSM Dev assistant for Unity

On my side, launching that VitaClientDefiler delivered by SMOKE on my PSTV fw 3.36 leads to error 80251002, so I think I will give up and just use psm dev assistant on my vita 3.18, at least for now, until this serious VitaClientDefiler non compatibility gets studied seriously.

Oddly I add to rework a lot the headers of the eml's from SMOKE. My PSTV fw 3.36 email reader really didn't digest them (all was hanging) by re-using Mr Gas typical eml files and just replacing the db uuencoded payloads inside (and forcing a change in message-id entry of course)

We are nice to noobs :) We understand we all were noobs at one time and we also understand people learn in many different ways. So in other words we are always very friendly unless provoked otherwise and usually are still nice :)

Boderlands 2 is a good game with update. CMA is the tool that allows you to move files to and from the Vita/PSTV and make/restore backups.

i found CMA online downloaded it and installed then i figured out how 2 link it 2 pstv but evrytime i connect it says i gotta update the fw and i disconected it from the internet and it still says it

borderlands 2 is the game I used. I had the same issue. u need to use open cma which will modify ur existing cma. it blocks the update nag. power down the device, then try again with open cma.

OpenCMA allows the PSTV/Vita to connect to the CMA client without the internet active. Vitaupdate Blocker is an app for the PC that acts as a proxy for communication from Sony telling the PC side your Vita is the latest firmware.

We have downloaded open CMA and I have put it into the correct place and ran the bat file and it still asks to update the fw.
When I open the read me txt and changelog txt iit looks like its corrupt. Ive downloaded it twice, once from wololo direct link and the other from one of thier mirrors.
here is my readme.txt https://www.mediafire.com/?4hmcyuhfyqpf0x8
If you have open cma would you mind uploading it for us?
The downloads we have seem corrupt

I don't have access to a PC but I will see what I can do. Did you set the proxy up in the PSTV settings.

Edit these are the steps you MUST DO INTHIS ORDER!!

Install OpenCMA over standard CMA then shut it down.
Run Vitaupdate Blocker
Go to settings on PSTV/Vita and go to internet connections. Then go to use proxy and input the IP address Vitaupdate Blocker gives you and change ports to 8080
Run OpenCMA and rebuild PC database
Then test internet connection on the PSTV under settings, internet again

At this point Vitaupdate Blocker will spoof the Vita to the current firmware and allow you to transfer data via OpenCMA app.

I dont see any proxy settings.
We were trying to run cma on windows 8 machine.
so we tried from a windows 7 machine and the same thing.
So we moved to a subnet that didnt have internet access and tried again and it complained that the DNS settings were not correct.
So it is still trying to get an internet connection.
Everytime we try I format the system and the Storage and start fresh.
The only thing I turn off after going through the initial setup is I uncheck "Download update file for system software"

We do not have a use proxy option on 3.35.
So im not sure how i will be able to chance ports if its not on 8080 by default
Yeah there is no way to enter a static ip address into this pstv
NVRMD found it in advanced settings after i connected to the network. brb

The option is there from firmware 1.00 to 3.52 go to network/advanced settings and change from don't use proxy to use proxy. Also tend to have better luck using Google DNS which is 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
