PS VITA / PS TV (PSTV) VitaDefilerClient Installer Without The Need Of A Vita

Are you a frustrated PSTV owner because don't own a Vita in order to have access to all needed files in to fully Rejuvenate your PSTV with PSM+ thus bringing life to the system finally? Something it seems even Sony has failed to do calling our beloved system a "legacy" device. Well wait no more folks the answer to all your prayers are finally here thanks to the marvelous mr. gas and SMOKE!! No worries about the [break].[/break]limitations of 3.51 & lower or the lockout at firmwares 3.52 and more.

Installation Method
​

Instructions:
1. Copy the UNITY-TV folder for your Unity app version to CMA's PSAVEDATA/<random numbers>/ folder.
2. Copy the savedata to your PSTV ( You will need to use VitaUpdateBlocker )
3. Make sure you have no notifications and are not downloading anything.
4. Rebuild database in recovery.
5. Using Outlook or Thunderbird, forward the eml to your email account.
6. Find any Vita app or game that has an update available, click update, and then pause the download.
7. Open the Email app and click the attachments one at a time.
It should show an error that says it could not display the image. DO NOT click the ok button.
Instead, press home and close the Email app.
8. Once you have installed both files, reboot your PSTV again.
9. Then, continue the download. The download should now be ~5mb. If not, something went wrong.
10. Once downloading is complete, open the Unity app ( You might need to install PSM+ ) and delete the 0000 "app"
11. You should now only have Vita Defiler Client installed in Unity. Now you can cancel the installation notification.

How to update if you have used this method before:
1. Simply FTP the Application & System folders from this pack to cache0:/VitaDefilerClient/
eg. I have Unity 1.06, so the folders and files I need to replace on my PSTV are in Unity 1.06/UNITY-TV/p/VitaDefilerClient/

Troubleshooting:
-To install PSM+ on your PSTV, use the Device ID your Vita assuming you have a Vita as well. (**Hint Youtube can help with this and will not risk anyone's account or system**)

**PLEASE NOTE**​

PSM Unity v1.05 for 3.20 and below and PSM Unity v1.06 is for firmware 3.36+. Both are included here in the install zip. The latest EML File Generator 0.3 can be found here at Major Tom's github page. Also one MUST use Codestations (Windows & OSX flavors available) QCMA and since the PSTV lacks USB support one must set the app to 3.10, allow connection without internet, spoof with the latest VitaUpdateBlocker by iAmGhost. Both PSTV/Vita need to be on the same wireless network (yes it can be on a mobile hotspot using Vita Defiler reported here earlier today so a PC or Android is also needed pick your poison) in order for PSTV to see QCMA for EML trick. I use the "pportable" version of Thunderbird with my gamil account to send EML file to write to Vita memory card. This took a lot of work to figure out the right settings so I wanted to share and save you some time/heartache. If choosing Android over a PC you may want to have a look at the link I posted earlier here as all tools and apps needed by either PC or Android are covered between the two articles as well as all the latest up to date native Vita side applications. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have.

The game I can transfer using CMA from PS3 if I understand correctly. I'm trying to get the exploit
I have emailed the eml file to the pstv now I need to install the game update. However, I cannot access psn on the pstv because it wants me to update fw.

u don't need to access psn for a game update. go to the game like ur gonna open it. after a few seconds, an orange ball should appear which is the icon for a game update. click on that, let the download start, then click pause from the semicircle in the top righthand side of the menu.

I bought borderlands 2 on the ps3
I am opening CMA and have ps3 linked but I dont see where to transfer the game, It is not showing up i any of the folders

in the transfer from ps3 option? I believe there's a transfer to vita option on the ps3 itself. vita games should be of the highest priority in that they appear as bubbles that'll be deleted from the xmb after transfer. I had bought the borderlands bundle myself which I transferred to my pstv. even without having the game tied to the pstv, I can still access the update without a problem. in other words, I didn't have to transfer a game from the ps3 itself. [MENTION=7]atreyu187[/MENTION] should be able to help u with that. while ur at it, u might wanna buy the exploit games for the psp emu though if ur interested in running psp games.

Keep in mind they must all be on the same network. LAN is much faster if you can do this. Also what exactly are you trying to achieve? There is so many different hacks and all have different approaches. Once you are connected via CMA from PS3 to PSTV open the "applications" tab and go to Vita and it will show your game provided both are linked with the same PSN account.

I have 3.35 on my pstv
I dont know what the different hacks do, I was just trying to follow what is in the first post in this thread.
Would also like to install retroarch
I just want to open this thing to do whatever it can possibly do.
So if that means I need to do a different hack then thats what I want to do

I still think its gotta have some kind of connection to psn whether im opening it or if it just has access to its server which in settings it fails.
I can only run vita update blocker 1.1 because for some reason v1.2 gives me that second line that says BLOCKED
and I don't know why

 

Yes you have to have the Vita version, your doing a Vita mod. It can't play PS3 games. What firmware is your PSTV as there are over 75+ exploitable games from different firmwares.

v3.35 and I search psn for borderlands for vita and get no results

there's no borderlands 2 listed? that's strange unless it's just a ps3 store issue, 'cause the borderlands 2 bundle contains the digital copy. it's not on the system, rather u have to download it along with the dlc. maybe buy the borderlands 2 cartridge itself? as for psp emu, it depends on ur firmware. u'd have to look up which games r exploitable on that firmware, buy them on the ps3, then transfer.

found two free games that have updates... zen pinball is one, however when transfering it downloads the update file before transfering the game and there is no way to pause it.
seems sony is making us download the updates first now?

If somebody has vita update blocker 1.2 that works please link for me cause the one from iamghost source is not working for me

 

That's always the case with digital copies happened when I bought Soul Sacrifice Delta (amazing game BTW) hence why I already told you to buy the cart. But what you can try is download with the updated PSN game then delete the update from the system. That's what I did with my physical copy as it was already updated deleted the updste then reinstalled. Unless you have a second Vita you will most likely have to buy a physical copy. Bestbuy sells them on eBay for $10 with in store pickup. Also it's best to do the research before jumping into buying anything. As for PSP you will needed Patapon 2, make sure its part 2 as part one doesn't work for 3.35. There is no exploit above 3.20 for PS1 games. I spent literally weeks reading and building info to get mine all set up properly before trying to mod anything. If on the Vita side your just trying to enable the whitelist you can jsit head over to WOLOLO and install that. If rejuvnate is what you want Vita side you must have the game update. I just bought freedom wars and i dont see where to update.
What game are you saying to buy from best buy?
also vita update 1.2 says its only spoofed to 3.35 same as v 1.1 and vita fw is up to 3.5 something.
Is there another version of vita update blocker and if so will someone please upload it?

Just checked borderlands 2 at best buy and there is none available in my area

I installed v1.06 is that the right version for me

u know when u click on the game, and its page opens up where there r several icons and a wallpaper? the update icon will appear on there. unity will force u to update if on a certain firmware before it'll open, yes.
