PS3 Rebug CFW change RED icons color

Ah man, no I don't I needed to make room for the 14 rebugs I downloaded, but yeah I can check it out later tonight. I'll just download them again. I was supposed to be finishing my mod tutorial, but my fucking mic broke and now I gotta put the project on hold again until my next cheque :( so I got time. Unless I can figure out why none of my really old mics are working on Win7. Yes I installed the drivers. All 4 mics worked in my MP4, which broke, and yeah I checked all my audio settings too. Even tried a separate PC on Ubuntu. Dafuq man :( they all used to work, clearly a software issue so I'm gonna try a live version of XP next.
In the device manager try to "show hidden devices", sometimes there are rests fron previous installs/uninstalls, delete all that and reboot

And for the firmwares, i was meaning there are several changes in official firmwares, this is what we know:
category_psn.xml 4.75 - MD5:614bd5baf1d5c37ca3a27b0349906742
category_psn.xml 4.76 - MD5:?
category_psn.xml 4.78 - MD5:?
category_psn.xml 4.80 - MD5:?
category_psn.xml 4.81 - MD5:906BC65812C7106E4181CEED59DDC25A
category_psn.xml 4.82 - MD5:?
category_psn.xml 4.83 - MD5:158FE74BDB48C84A9798C3D1FE817986

So they was clearly changing something in the list of items displayed in the XMB PSN category in latest firmwares
Actually, we can deduce there is a change either in 4.82 (previous) or in 4.83 (actual), but what is it ?
Personally i dont care enought to start downloading and comparing hashes, but i guess eventually i will know (and i will fix the table in wiki) so no hurry for me. I dont think that changes are going to be important, but anyway is interesting to see what changed and wtf are they doing

But never minds, if you dont have the official firmwares downloaded already dont worry, there is no need for you to do it

Little late now, I downloaded all except 4.80 so far, check back here in a half hour or so and I'll have your list, plus the hashes for the 8 rco files we were talking about before. It's no big deal, I was watching The Originals so downloading and extracting is sort of a background process anyway, so no biggie.

While I'm at it, any other hashes from those particular OFW you want?

Here you go man. I'm running low on disc space, so if you need any more hashes let me know, I'll be deleting these files by morning. Interesting. Looks like they made a change in 4.81 and then completely reversed it. Are you sure the hash you provided for 4.81 is correct?

not sure, but maybe those changes have something to do with facebook being removed on the ps3. it was removed on the vita at least. I don't know which firmware those were on though. ;)

I'm not too sure but I think the facebook feature was removed long before 4.81, I have been getting a notice about the facebook feature being removed in at least 1 game for over a year now I think. Think it was Jetpack Joyride. Hey I'm looking for some new PS3 games to try, got any good suggestiong? Really into strategy games and shooters. Wish they would port Plauge Inc to PS3, that would be fucking amazing.

Thx, now the list is complete :)

The hash i posted for category_psn.xml 4.81 was a mistake sorry, this is the real list (i just verifyed 4.81 to be sure)

So the last change happend in 4.78... and yes i think is related with facebook (probably they just removed an icon from XMB PSN column)

So... mistery solved, i was wondering if they was doing changes after 4.81 here related with HAN but nop

----------
I use to keep a record of changes of some PS3 firmware files in wiki, but mostly are files related with XMB, and i dont keep a record of rco changes (except a couple of rco files that was chosen as good guinea pigs for research, like custom_render_plugin.rco)
yesterday i was looking at changes in 4.83 and i could not find anything... so nothing interesting

Right now i dont need to check more hashes, thanks again :)

Any time man

Enable write access to /dev_flash in mmCM (MultiMAN) settings and copy all files (except the readme file) and the folder to /dev_blind/vsh/resource

Keep in mind you won't have enough space to copy all the files at once unless you have previously deleted something. Copy the folder first, then copy the rest of the files in chunks smaller than 3 megabytes. And remember to backup the files you will be replacing first!

This theme is compatible on 4.80-4.82. This may work on 4.83 but since there is no 4.83 CFW released yet I can't test it on 4.83 yet. If you want to be the guinea pig then by all means, try it, but don't blame me if something goes wrong :-p you have been warned.

Enjoy :)

hi,bro

can it use on 4.83?

Yes, the firmware version compatibility is derived from the official files:
1HfBDcj.png

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:Rebug

The info in that table means this 8 rco files are exactly the same in firmwares since 4.80 up to 4.83
In other words... you could take this official rco files from 4.80 and use them in 4.83 (or vice versa)
Same with rebug versions (unless they made some custom change to the rcos in between 4.80 and 4.83)

*For 4.84 i dont know... to know it is needed to check the MD5 of the official rcos and compare them with the ones in the table

@sandungas Hey man, I got some new hashes here for your table. Looks like the rco files are identical from 4.80 clear through 4.84.

@nictse Icon support information for rco icon mods is updated now. Support is added for CFW versions 4.80-4.84

@SiegHart93 Icon support information for rco icon mods is updated now. Support is added for CFW versions 4.80-4.84

Sooo I stumbled across this thread because I like to keep my systems as stock-looking as possible, if that makes any sense.

Thank you for all your effort, it also seems to work fine on 4.85 as expected, cause at this point I dont think Sony will make big changes to the system.
I noticed that the PSN logo in the Package Manager was a bit blurry, so I wasted almost 2 hours to find out where that logo is and how to replace it with a higher quality one. (I probably have OCD or something)

Also, I replaced the coldboot logo (and sound file to be sure, though I'm pretty sure those weren't changed by rebug, but again OCD) with the official one from Sony's own 4.85 update file and uploaded it here:

Hi,
Is this compatible with the last version, 4.86.1?
Thanks
