Scetool Header Error

im wantin to make a fix for bionic commando 2 but i get error:

So you can extract the elf without problem?
Do you get the same header error when trying to resign the elf just as it was extracted, not yet patched?

do u have 3.40 appldr self key listed in ur keys file? and, r u using the scetool provided with aldostools? @bguerville , I don't think he can decrypt the file.

@bguerville no. error happens before eboot.bin is decrypted to .elf
@pinky i should have all keys. like i said ive decrypted/fixed/resigned lots of psn games but this is a first. ill double check though
 
well, that's a common error if the rap key or the appldr key is wrong. the game isn't a C00, is it? a lot of those games start with the number 3. plus, afaik, true ancestor edat tool (assuming u used this) uses the 3 free klicenses that exist before using the rap.

edit: also, I believe true ancestor as well as aldos eboot bruteforce tool keeps a record of klicenses to be decrpt edat files quickly without needing the rap.

Well, strange it never happened to you before because it's a very common error.

my best guess based on what he's said is that klicense was extracted from the klicense list to decrypt the edat while the rap itself contains the wrong key or content id. it would explain how the edat was decrypted while the eboot won't.

It would help to know what that game actually is though...

I had another thought as well... are you working with original eboot & files? If you are not sure you should check. You can use an ird file to check that game files haven't been modified.

its a psn game so no ird. but its untouched eboot from retail pkg file

i tested to see if rap is valid/needed by tryin to rebuild edat with essse resigner

without rap in folder its asks for rap, so it is need for rebuild
with rap in folder edat rebuilds fine, so i know rap is good

i checked and i have all keys so i dont think thats it either

PSN = no ird of course.. Duh...
If it's a retail PSN pkg no problem anyway.

Forget the rebuilding of edat for now...

So all tools fail to extract the elf?
Have you tried to decrypt using scetool from cli?
