it's pronounced chi, but T is it's equivalent. the second character is tha as in tha-u-sand. it's difficult to understand katakana if ur just starting to learn Japanese.

the ー denotes an elongated sound like pinky. another thing is like my dog's name チョッパー (chopper). the small ツ means a gap in pronunciation.

my understanding of spoken Japanese is lacking. I can understand a lot of reading. I taught myself mostly. when I was an exchange student to Japan, I had to come back due to what we've discussed (my condition). I spent most of my time in my room. I tried to ask my helper girl out, but that didn't go so well. :-/
