I can't seem to get yakuza 2 to launch on my ps3 following the ps2 classics guide. I've successfully done it with other games, but this is the only one that gives me an issue. Would this have anything to do with this : Encrypted: 98 Blocks 0xea000000
False

hi, i get a psx .pkg from the web and my original dump backup convert to .pkg , then I resign it with rifgen-master, install and ok, but I get the screen to buy the content in the store, why? If I download the .pkg and resign it does not work for me. and making my own dump and converting it to .pkg does not work either

When i convert a Game_folder with true ancestor tool i get the error: Unsupported Category DG

the game is Diablo 3 RoS USA

i try custom pkg and get:

Category DG is detected, expected is HG.
[!] Incorrect category in PARAM.SFO, process is aborted.

you can try changint the category to HG using param.sfo editor or just use cfw2ofw helper

Yakuza 2 is DVD9, han can't run DVD9 PS2 games because there is no app that can correctly prepare DVD9 iso.bin.enc. You need to RIP game to 2x DVD5 using ripkit, but that also will be problematic solution as you need to create 2 pkg files. So you need to transfer memory card at some stage to be able to continue with your progress on 2 DVD, which is little bit painful process on HAN..

I was trying to convert GT2 Simuation Disc PAL but i've encountered some problems, solved some but one of them is really bothering me:
I've already converted the game from iso to the "eboot.pbp", took note of the GT2 TitleID (Gamefaqs says it's SCES-02380), got my ISO.BIN.DAT (which was for some reason called ISO.BIN.DAT.BIN.DAT.BIN.DAT), executed the CMD command with my TitleID (02380), put everything in the correct folders and changed some of the icons for a better user experience on my PS3.
Now, i've put the folder (renamed as the TitleID) alongside the trueancestor executable, but the program can't see it, i've tried everything but it doesn't seems to work. Someone can tell me where i'm wrong?
Also, this is a great guide, but i think OP hasn't been really really specific on the passages, sometimes they can be a bit obscure (i'm still not sure on how to take the exact TitleIDs for ps1 games,), i think 8-9-19-20 steps are the ones where i've encountered more headaches as they're not really clear.

Your game folder (SCES-02380) must be in the 'game' folder that's in the trueancestor folder...
Hard to explain.

I have a more in depth guide here on the forums If your still having troubles:

It wasn't written on the guide, i followed the one you linked and finally i made it, thank you man.
But i got another problem now.. Installed from the PSN section of Package Manager, but the game doesn't start and i get the "80028F17" error.
I've already installed other Ps1 Classics from ***PlayStation Store*** (so already in pkg format and with a rap file), i wonder if is the lack of the rip file that blocks the game from being loaded by my PS3..

I got an original copy of GT2 tho (seriously damaged, that's why I'm starting from an iso and not using the og disk)
Also, aren't all these tutorials related to piracy?
I just wanted a quick help on some of my errors

I think what you're asking is sort of a grey area when it comes to piracy.

these tutorials are for informative purposes only. what people do with this information is on them.

Yeah you're right, but i was only figuring out how to stop all these errors I've encountered, I got into this world just a few weeks ago and it's all a mess.
Guess i'll stick to my old ePSXe, thanks for the help anyway!

It's a good idea to say you have a real copy to keep from getting replies like that. Because from your post it looks like you're pirating the game.
The guides are to help people use legitimate games they own. Most of them even say they aren't meant for piracy.
Now that we've cleared up that you have the game you have a better chance of getting help. Nobody wants to help if they think they are breaking the rules :)

Is this a psn store game or a backup?

Backup man, old GTs will never be released on PSN because of licensing issues ( think about all the licensed tracks, cars, songs, ads on both cars and tracks.. it's just not worth it for both Sony and Polyphony lmao ). Wished it was on PSN like other ps1 games such as Spyro and Crash series.

Kk, converting a ps1 backup is a long, laborious task with many steps. It's hard to pinpoint your exact problem here.
I have a guide here on the forums (Great Ps3xploit 3.0 HAN Aio) that might help. Follow all the steps and you should win.
