Update (v1.47.27 - 20200517) since the initial release of webMAN MOD v1.47.27 @aldostools has made huge improvements to the plugin with these latest revisions to v1.47.27.The developer is adding alot of new functionality to the plugin and has some big announcements in the latest changes. See UPDATED changelog and also quote from developer Aldostools himself about the latest progress provided to the PS3 Plugin in this latest update
(Original Article) Developer @aldostools whom recently updated IRISMAN for 4.86 Support (& more) has also updated the popular plugin webMAN MOD to version 1.47.27 with support for 4.86 firmware. That has not been the only changes provided to the webMAN MOD plugin. For instance, If you are transferring files via FTP that information will be displayed in the Temperature Monitoring page (from a networked connected broswser: your ps3ip/cpursx.ps3). The plugin has some other additional features and fixes provided in this update marked in the changelog provided below.

webMAN MOD is a fork of @deank's original webMAN. Dean's version is solid and provides a great experience on its own and provides a great foundation to webMAN MOD which started out as a collection of mods and the developer Aldostool's really took over the fork's development and provided many new features / support and takes the plugin into modern times. Both are great options provided by great developer's and to get a bit of insight on their development perspective be sure to checkout our recent interviews of both of these developer's deank (vol.1) and also Aldostools in (vol. 3) from our Power Supply Series

Do you have ROMS/PKG Launcher Launcher installed?
      https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases

If you already have it, you can try with an older build too:
      https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/tag/1.47.26

Also check that your ROMS work when you launch them from RetroArch 1.85

Uninstall RetroArch 1.87 or 1.86 if you have one of them installed to avoid conflict.

Perhaps the latest ROMS_PKG_Launcher.pkg is corrupt or didn't compile correctly?

I've had a look in the /dev_hdd0/game/PKGLAUNCH/ directory and there are some standout differences in the 2 versions (1.4.27 and 1.4.26).

1.4.27 is missing retroarch.cfg and retroarch-core-options.cfg from the PKGLAUNCH/PS3_GAME/USRDIR directory, and is also missing many subdirectories in /cores.

I copied them across from 1.4.26 but it still kicks me to the xmb.

I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour aldo.

I (perhaps) narrowed it down to the EBOOT.BIN located in the PKGLAUNCH/PS3_GAME/USRDIR directory. I copied both EBOOT bins from 1.4.26 across, and named them EBOOT.good in their respective locations. Renaming the original 1.4.27 /PKGLAUNCH/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN to EBOOT.ORIG and renaming the 1.4.26 version to EBOOT.BIN works.

It works with either EBOOT.BIN located at /PKGLAUNCH/PS3_GAME/USRDIR.

      Thank you for your feedback.

The latest PKG/ROM Launcher was refactored almost completely to add support for RetroArch 1.8.6 and later. Maybe the EBOOT is not signed properly. I'll take a look in the next few days.

Hi, I am having a weird issue with my PS3 after the last update. I have a 4.84 super slim with the latest HEN and Webman Mod. The issue is that after shutting it down both the fan and the hard disk light doesn't go off and I have to unplug it from the wall.

What can I do in order to avoid this? Thanks

      Coro
the fan will stay on after shutdown if you enable "wake on lan" under debug settings menu. i dont know what the hdd light does in that mode.

If your game is mounted on NTFS, exFAT or ps3netsrv, it's advised to unmount the game before shut down the console.

These devices use a process that respond to the scsi controller and emulate the Blu-ray drive. If you shut down the console, these processes could be doing a background job and interfere with the shut down.

In regards to unplug the power cord, it should be avoided. Instead hold down the power button for 15 seconds and the console will turn off. Just don't apply much pressure to the power button to don't damage the sensor.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. The thing is, I don't have mounted games, I only use the PS3 for retroarch. Even if I just turn it on, enable HEN and turn it off, no matter if I use the webman mod button for that, the issue happens. Thanks again!

what is the version number of retroarch?

does this happen if you use the regular power off in xmb menu or actual ps3 power button?

I also should have added a big thank you to aldo for all your hard work on coding all this software for the PS3, and for sharing it with all of us. It's awesome to have a console that does so much. Many thanks, you and all the modders and coders are very much appreciated.

1.8.7, but happens also if I don't open it. Tried setting the fan control to SYSCON and still happens. I could not find any debug settings in webman mod to check for the wake on LAN you mentioned earlier.

Any way I turn it off. In previous versions I had the issue but I was able to fully turn it off by using the shut down button in webman mod.

      Thanks for your assistance!

the wake on lan isnt in webman. its in the ps3 settings under network IF you have "debug" settings menu. it wouldnt be the problem unless you turned it on previously.

i would recommend you checkout retroarch 1.8.5 if you havent already. it has more cores (emulators) than 1.8.6+ because the ps3 retroarch is being "ported" and most stuff isnt ready yet. (some of the included cores dont work in 1.8.5 though)

does this webMAN MOD 1.47.27 (20200517) default fan speed's 80%
If fan speed run at 80% then fan sound like helicopter or jet speed
previous version fan speed was 35%

I think that 80% is referred to the maximum speed that fan can reach [emoji848]

there is a new maximum fan speed...its stops the fan from going any faster. the default is 80% but it can be changed.
    16. jolek
      jolek
      From what I remember:
      - min default fan speed is 25%.
      - max default speed is 80%.
      - 40% for PS2 emulator.

By default fan speed can increase after crossing 68 °C.

The default initial speed is the MINIMUM speed that has a default value of 25% (0x40).

The 80% is the default value of the new setting for the MAXIMUM fan speed allowed.
You can change that setting to any integer value between 50% and 99%.

In my personal settings I change the MINIMUM to 40%. For me that speed don't produce much noise and keep the console cool for a longer period than if I use the default 25%.

Using a low MINIMUM speed, makes the console start with no noise but it gets hot in few minutes and the fan will produce noise faster ;) However, that 25% is what most people prefer.

This is a massive achievement @aldostools great work man :)

Could this mean, at least in theory, that in the future PS2 ISOs could be loaded from external? Just wondering. I'm not expecting miracles, but actually just interested if it may be a similar situation as with what you've managed here. :)
