webMAN MOD

PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

webMAN MOD is a true "crowdsourcing software". Many talents have been involved in its development... And I'm not talking only about the great developers that have contributed directly and indirectly. Also many users have contributed with feedback, ideas, translations, icons, documentation, testing, etc. So that sentence is not completely fair.

webMAN MOD 1.43.32 is available.
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/tag/1.43.32

I am sorry but I disagree. [emoji6]
I think the sentence is completely fair. Sure it's crowdsourcing & many have contributed in one way or another however you have centralised & organised all those contributions.
I am not so sure there would have been many volunteers willing & capable to replace you at the heart of this crowdsourcing.
Maybe someone else would have come up with this or maybe not.... Fact is you did!

So @aldostools you beat me to releasing a text editor! Nice one though.. [emoji5]️
My own fault, I was postponing even when the feature was ready because I was trying to include a nice little jquery based interface to add copy/paste & some other editing buttons... Javascript is not really my forte though & it's taken me too much time to implement features with it...

pinky, bguerville, kozarovv, thank you very much, guys!
Now I have better understanding of WM workflow. One game I fixed just by deleting old installation. And
the other ones I just redownloaded (I think these was early "prepatched" releases).

Very important info is needed here.
>Do you enabled cobra mode in rebug toolbox?
I don't remember. I was too afraid to upgrade from my precious kmeaw3.55, so I just pressed OK all the time according to manual:)
I can run ps3 ISO-s. Afain, I must be in "cobra mode" to do that?
And in info screen of mmCM it said "Firmware Mode: COBRA 7.20 compatible"
>In xmb you have multiman or mmCM instead?
mmCM
>And which version of multiman you have? Latest?
mmCM Version 04.78.00

So you are not on latest firmware and multiman. But anyway if you are not playing online then you are on not so old cfw. Anyway i think your problem with JB games is fixed now.

Also remember that you can always convert games from folder format to ISO by using: http://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps3-iso-tools-has-been-updated-to-v2-2-by-rudi-rastelli.3255/ is recommended to do this for better compatibility anyway.

And

Hope you will read our forum rules, specially point 2: http://www.psx-place.com/threads/site-rules-guidelines.79/

In most cases yes, if no Cobra then Mamba is needed.

And in info screen of mmCM it said "Firmware Mode: COBRA 7.20 compatible"
So you have cobra enabled.

If you still want old way of running games, then disable cobra in rebug toolbox (included under package manager). But i think you don't want to come back to old way after meeting webman MOD :).

I suggest that you just stick to iso & cobra.
Use webMAN-MOD & complete the setup page as required including dynamic fan control.

JB games should work fine as well with this setup. Unless the games are patched for 3.55.

Hey there @aldostools, would it be too much to ask for the 'mount_ps2' (the 2-in-1 unmount and mount cmd) feature to be included in your official releases?

I'm still using v1.43.30 compiled version kozarovv gave me with mount_ps2 enabled to load PS2 SingStar discs. I made a quick html page so that my family can just tap on one of the games and it will send the mount command to the PS3. :)

I know you said the feature is experimental and you still need to insert a real disc, but beside that it is working flawless.
I can't really figure out how to set up the environment so I could compile it myself. What do you think?

Hmmm sounds good. Can you give here that html as a example?

Tonight (EU time) tutorial will be ready. For compiling sprx only, but should be enough for you.

Hmm do you want the whole page or? I've never written html before, spent the better half of a day looking at how to do this so it's a bit embarrassing haha. Here's the link, the description is in German though.
It's supposed to be displayed on smartphone screens, do tell if you notice errors :)

The url I'm using to call webman is:
http://192.168.178.35/mount_ps2/dev_usb001/PS2DISC/SingStar+Rock+Ballads+(Europe)

which would mount the unpacked game at USB001/PS2DISC/SingStar Rock Ballads (Europe)/
Then all they have to do is eject the current disc and (re-)insert a PS2 disc.

Wow, thanks man. Hope I will be able to make sense of it, I never compiled anything. :p

Is ready from december 2015 but I wanted polish it. But.. I didn't. :p Still is useful for basic compilation of webman mod.

Hm.. Not bad idea with that html, this need to be mounted from external device (PC, Tel.) or can be done right from ps3?

External device only because you cannot open the web browser on PS3 while being in-game as far as I know.
I can only let webman mount the game while at the specific 'change disc screen', because if you ps2_mount/eject the disc anywhere else the game will automatically quit.

Remember that a number of Web commands have not been designed to work in-game & might not work properly if called in that way....

Might be, but there's no way to call the command in-game anyway... I guess theoretically it should be possible to add a key combination to mount a game at a fixed path to try it out without having to use the browser, but that wouldn't be practical anyway except as PoC :)

Yes, you can use up to 12 custom combos to mount your favorite games.

Here are the web commands and file names for the custom combos.
http://www.psx-place.com/threads/webman-mod-web-commands.1508/

BTW the SingStar test features are now standard features in the full edition.

It also has several internal changes and some new features.

Thanks!

"//#define PS2_DISC 1 // uncomment to support /mount.ps2" -> sorry for asking, this enables mount.ps2 and mount_ps2? Or mount.ps2 only? Those work differently, mount.ps2 doesn't unmount the current disc first (at least Singstar won't detect new mounted disc, only with mount_ps2 command)

Also oh boy, looks at all these web commands. Thanks for the link :)

Could you try with the build currently available? I have added a fake eject/insert to /mount.ps2 (like /mount_ps2 does, except that this performs a *full unmount* that also kills the threads any netiso or ntfs iso already running, while /mount.ps2 only unmounts the /ps2_disc).

I hope that with this change the issue that you mention is fixed.

Thanks for all of this, but I don't have direct access to my PS3 for a while. I will test as soon as I can, I didn't expect you to add all of this so fast :o

A new release candidate for 1.43.34 is available
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases

It's still labeled as 1.43.33. If there are not major issues reported, then I'll promote the current release to 1.43.34

Some of the new features since the original release of 1.43.33 are:
* Added display of free space left on USB devices to /cpursx.ps3
* Added shortcuts to storage devices in /cpursx.ps3
* Combos now support pads 0-7 (formerly was only 0-2)
* PS2_DISC & No SingStar icon now are features in Full Edition
* /restart.ps3 now supports same parameters of /reboot.ps3
* Icon resizer now keeps the size until the browser is closed
* File Manager: /host_root now is a shortcut to /dev_hdd0/packages
* File Manager: .SFO now displays title id with link to game updates (xml with game patches)
* File Manager: game title now has a link to hdd0/game/<titleid> (i.e. a shortcut to game patches & dlc)
* File Manager: size column of .SFO now fixes game in hdd0/game
* Fix game now starts from the root of the game (JB folder only)
* Reduced delay of message for files deleted with /delete.ps3
* /download.ps3 now shows the download path in a separate line
* /install.ps3 now caches the pkg to hdd0 if installing from /net
* Added breadcrumbs trails to the displayed path in /mount.ps3 (now adds mount only if path is ISO or folder)
* Added support to install pkg files to right-menu in html
* Improved performance reading language files (it results in faster save settings & reduced startup time)

Plus many others internal & performance improvements.
