PS3 webMAN MOD v1.45.04 - webMAN MOD Supporting RetroArch Roms, 4.81 DEX & More

This project continues to impress and evolve overtime, a highly requested feature has finally made it's way to the popular PS3 plugin that was originally created by deank with the original version of webMAN, but developer aldostools has been the leading developer behind the webMAN MOD project that has added so many new features and functionality to an already great plugin. Now appearing in version 1.45.04 the dev has added RETRO support for the plugin (sprx), now see an added ROMS category on the XMB & HTML Game list of the plugin. The update does not stop there you can view additional additions in the provided changelog, but its does look like Aldostools is preppping for an upcoming REBUG release with adding support to 4.81 DEX.

Additional details on version 1.45.04 can be viewed in the details provided below.

I have no idea why I keep getting freezing issues. here's what I did

1. Did FSM while on 3.55, installed Rogero 3.55 3.7A
2. Formatted HDD via system restoration
3. Updated to REX 4.80.1
4. Enabled COBRA/webMAN, replaced the webMAN sprx only which produces the bug with webMAN category not being displayed properly [written in the release note since 1.45.xx]
5. scanned games via prepNTFS 1.17
6. Scrolling up/down game lists from webMAN category
7. Immediately froze
8. force rebooted, updated wMM 1.45.04 [FULL] edition, which fixed the issue with webMAN category
9. Scanned the game via prepNTFS 1.17 again
10. Scrolling up/down game lists from webMAN category

Firstly I thought I made a mistake on either COBRA or the FW itself [4.81.1] but now I can reproduce the bug anytime I want with both 4.80.1 and 4.81.1 [CEX/DEX]

The current work around is 1.45.01 which works in any condition

I wonder if this is NAND specific bug, or wMM has an issue with certain games.

because @DeViL303 and @aldostools both have SLIM models and the issue doesn't seem to occur at least on 4.80.1

the only thing I noticed is that the freezing usually takes place while wMM is accessing cached files (ICON/PNG and SFO)

Tested on CECHE01, does anybody have the same issue like mine?

As I told you on skype, I don't have idea what could be causing your issue.

All this week I'll be very busy... so I don't think I will touch webMAN this week.

The latest source code in already updated on github, if you want to try different commits and editions (after you finish your exams).

Could you please check my very last post? I am currently using the latest version without launchpad flag. That's the only flag causes me issue.

I think some of my games don't work well with that xml created for launchpad

Do you have any games with % © ™ or similar signs in name?

Yes I do, but that doesn't really explain why there is no issue on non REX CFWs. I'll just install habib 4.81 and transform that into REX by replacing modules/rco/xml see if where it causes the issue

I missed that on non-rex is ok. I don't know then..

Why don't you try to find out by elimination process whether some of your games could be causing the problem or not? That could help further investigations...

Not at home for another couple of hours...
Is the problem due to the "&" character? If you remove it from the file name, I assume it works fine.

Hi guyz, sorry to bother you I tried to figure it out myself but I think I'm missing a point and any help is appreciated.

I've tried to follow the italian tutorial but it seems that webmanMOD does not detect my roms.
I've put a bunch of GBA and SNES roms (in .gba and .sfc format respectively) on my external ntfs drive, (which works fine for other games (ps3, ps2, psp) by the way) in the ROMS/GBA and ROMS/SNES folders but no luck...

Is there any "format" obligation ? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure what.

Thanks a lot for your help !

Try on a fat32 USB drive or on the internal hdd I don't think ntsf is supported but wait for one of the devs to confirm

Wondering if it would be possible to create a roms section based on retroarchs exisiting history/favourite list?

All options would be preset that way and to be honest, I've got way too many roms on the hdd to list all of them. :)

Ps3netsrv GUI works awesome, but I need version for Linux shell. I used old version, it lost some ISOs and doesn't work with PKG (New feature in Webman)
I found link for temp folder on aldostools site, but now folder is empty.
Get everything from the github repo.
Look at github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD, there is a ps3netsrv directory, browse the files there you will find ps3netsrv for Linux. (no GUI though)
You could also get all the files for the 1.45.04 release by downloading the source zip or tar ball.
Go to github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases/tag/1.45.04
