PS3 webMAN v1.46n - New XMB Game Mounting Improvements (using wm_proxy/xai_plugin) by deank

Following the recent updates from legendary developer deank that improved NTFS support a great deal in the webMAN plugin, and the recent Cobra Update (stage2.bin) that allows you to play Games & Media from burnt optical disc. The developer has been busy with yet another trick up his sleeves, as we showed yesterday deank has been working on a new test feature for webMAN , now the test feature has been introduced officially in webMAN v1.46n. this new feature utilizes the source code release for the custom xai_plugin (by mysis) and mounting games is much faster and cleaner from the XMB as the web-browser trick is no longer needed as deank adapts the custom xai_plugin in a great way. Checkout all the details and a video demo of the new game loading in the details/changelog provided by deank..

CFW rebug 4.81.2
webMAN 1.47n
It is possible to add a shortcut to refresh xml.
Button sequence.

@Joonie
Is there any way to refresh the webman?
I switched the webman mod to the deank webman and it disappeared from the xmb but the command works.

@bguerville
Any tips, idea?
There is something wrong with the xml...
It's probably due to some clash between existing files from wMM & the files required by webman.
You could try deleting /dev_hdd0/xmlhost as well as the contents of the /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp folder.
Make sure scanning is not disabled on startup in the wMM setup page.
Restart the console.
If still not OK, try Refresh XML again & restart a 2nd time....

Like Joonie said prepNTFS 1.10 is also an option but when you don't have any xmb links, you can obviously use the wMM web commands from any browser on your lan!
There is a web command for refreshing Xml of course.
Check the web command list in the OP of the wMM General Information/Support thread.

If all webman entries disappear from the XMB, it is likely that the category_game.xml file got modified somehow. In Rebug the category_game.xml already contains the webman xml but in other CFW it is nothing always the case.
I suggest you restore the category_game.xml either by copying the file from the PUP or by reinstalling the CFW.

There is no incompatibility between the xmls. Missing "My Games" from the game column means that category_game.xml is restored to its default. All other folders/xml files are recreated at startup, but category_game.xml is not modified (at least not by webMAN).

Simply switching between wM and wMM (replacing the .srpx) cannot cause such issue.

I've been having a lot of problems with the last few versions of webman seemingly corrupting the cfg file? and preventing webman from loading. (Rebug 4.81.2, and the ~80kb cobra 7.51 released a few days ago) - currently in DEX mode but also happens although seemingly less often in CEX mode)

Playing a bit with my usual settings one by one and it seems to be related to "Disable content scan on startup"
  • Delete /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmconfig.bin via mmos
  • Restart PS3
  • Tick "Disable Content Scan on Startup"
  • Save
  • Refresh XML
  • Restart PS3
  • Instant Hard Freeze if selecting anything from "My Games" or Error 8071053d if I try access http://localhost/setup.ps3
  • Delete /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmconfig.bin via mmos and all good again.
I've attached the last few seemingly corrupt config files if it helps as the problem doesn't happen every time.

1st two were in CEX mode with my usual settings, last one was in DEX mode with just the above changed.

CECHLxx PAL console.

Set little bit higher "wait for USB device" values, and try again.

I tried setting both settings to 10 seconds, but it makes no difference unfortunately.
Webman fails to load completely once I disable the startup scan.
(~300 ISOs on 1Tb internal / 1.5Tb Fat32 external)

All the games and covers show fine, so it's reading the game xml and external hdd fine...
It's a weird one. :/

Might try switch back to cobra 7.50 later and see if it's related to the new 7.51

@Joonie
It worked perfectly, thank you very much for the help
Thank you all for your help xD
@deank
Just a suggestion
Would it be possible to add a button sequence to refrest.xml in webman?

@self_slaughter Can you redownload the sprx and test?

There is nothing corrupted in the config file. The problem actually was that wM loads TOO FAST and when "content scan" is disabled at startup it tries to load the last title and move the focus to the game column, but the xmb is not ready yet. The fix was quite simple.

Damn bro! That's a shitload of games haha.

yeah, slowly building the collection. :)
only about 40 PS3 games and the rest is fairly evenly split between ps1/ps2 games.
Only oldish systems with dead cheap games in pawn stores nowadays. ;)
