PS3 XMB CFW Settings v0.1a (mod-mod) by aldostools

In recent days we have seen a fabulous XMB modification by PS3 developer Mysis, since his release of XMB CFW Settings v0.1. A few other PlayStation 3 developers have provided some modded version. We showed you the other day littlebalup's mod as seen here, since that release aldostools has released a mod of littlebalups version, Aldostools adds some modifications in what the devs calls the "mod-mod" version. This version adds the settings in the Network tab with a folder called "Custom Firmware Tools" along with some of the features from mysis that were in the original version, Some of these features were disabled in littlebalup's version.. It's based on littlebalup's work, but grouped a bit different under Network column, and some disabled options are enabled in this "mod-mod". Enjoy!

In Mysis original version not in this version:

• Enable In-Game Screenshot
• Override Disc SFO

I think that is the difference upon quick compassion.

What is added i do not think anything was added, just organized a bit differently.. I agree i like the mods by aldo, but i do like the icons by littlebalup..

It's possible to add to "Dump Tools", the "Dump HDD Key" and "Dump ENDEC Key"? With auto detection for slim and fat (or as a separate menu items).

The typos are only in the article, not in the files as you can see in the pictures

The options in the menus are the commands in xai_plugin that worked for me. e.g. I didn't include Override Disc SFO because it caused issues with my games. It also doesn't work for games with updates. Anyway they are still in cfw_settings_en.xml but commented out.

I didn't see any command for "Dump HDD Key" or "Dump ENDEC Key" in the examples from mysis. Is there a new xai_plugin that include these commands?

Unfortunately no. I have just hope that someone will add it (didn't Mysis published src?). :} Algos are known for almost three years and no one interesting in it. Also dumping Drive Key (still only on 3.55 can be obtained) and ERK in this way could be great.

The tree of options was something i added to give a quick reference..

The RSOD FIX can make to vanish the red screen of death? I'd like to try, because I have a PS3 of a client with red screen.

I'm thinking on jumping this band wagon also (just another variant, different grouping) maybe even XMBM+ incorporation, I'll be switching to Windows pretty soon (possibly tonight) to have all the proper tools I need to get this done

No. I haven't touched this in a long time.

The pkg installs the sprx made by mysis. If the fix isn't working for you, try with Rebug Toolbox.

 

Tried it 3x and it's still rsod... So I guess my nor is ruined... Is there a way to fix it or this just means my ps3 is beyond redemption??
