PS3 4.83 CFW / Homebrew Apps / Plugins / Tools updated for 4.83

speaking of web man, does anyone know why sometimes ftp server does not start? i sometimes use win 10 explorer to do simple transfers and filezilla for something big
but sometimes both can not connect....i have set directly the ps3 to PC with an ethernet cable, usually it need to rebbot the PS3 in order to webman start the ftp server in background..but sometimes need 2 or 3 reboots..

is a common issue or is just me?

It's a common issue.. I get it regularly.
It would need investigated properly but as Aldo is out of the game atm, someone else would need to step up.

An alternative you can try is to keep wMM ftp off & let Cobra launch the openps3ftp plugin on boot instead.

I think it might be the ftp client (when using win explorer) as it doesn't close session right after transfer. Do you have this issue also if you only use filezilla?
I remember having trouble with some other server using explorer, worked fine with filezilla though

you may have to settle for unstable ftp as a lot of apps use the same base coding for ftp. I think it's based on the plugin actually. it may or may not be better (not sure).

The E3 works with all nor based consoles.
However, only consoles up to CECH 25xx are cfw compatible.

More recent consoles cannot be fully jailbroken, they can be flashed with the E3 Flasher but it would be pointless because the console would never boot & you would need to restore the Flash Memory to OFW to get it working again.

Yes. As long as the console is confirmed to be compatible with CFW, the fw version it currently uses doesn't really matter, it is always jailbreakable with a hardware flasher.
To confirm that the console is cfw compatible you should always run the MinVerChk PUP especially if the console is a slim model. Don't rely solely on the model number & datecode.
MinVerChk should return a minimum installable fw version <= 3.56 for the console to be jailbreakable with a hardware flasher.

Both G & J models are jailbreakable models.

You could look at the psdevwiki hardware lists to see exactly which parts from the J console might be compatible with the G console. http://www.psdevwiki.com/SKU_MODELS

good thinking, i´ll try to use filezilla only for now on, but, it must be said, ftp in windows has its benefits to have everything there at hand fast, ha ha

if you mean ftp'ing via windows explorer, it's extremely unstable there. the 360 is the same way, whenever you'd map a networked folder. it's too frustrating to get it to work correctly due to permissions issues that seem to crop up on random folders. I think it's a windows 10 bug, 'cause I don't recall this issue (at least with the 360) on windows 7. best stick with filezilla. though, there's major issues with lots of small issues. I did make a backup of my internal hdd (the old one), but I think it's better just to keep the packages rather than the files due to this. just ftp via an ethernet cable, and you're good. though, I have had issues in the past and recently where I couldn't make a connection at all unless I redid everything and reset the system.

lol yeah i know im lazy....

for my bad luck one of my usb port got screwed up, and the other one is where my mouse is, (because i dont like the touch pad) so yeah my sloth make me do the connection betwen win10 and the ps3 lol

but thanks for your advices im learning something, ill start using filezilla now

For XMLs I used notepad++ ftp plugin. It's even quicker than win explorer (if you just edited the file using notepad++)
Never had issues with that one

I remember having a problem similar to this with my cousin cfw. He had Aldo's tools Wmm. And MM.

For some reason. I disabled mm ftp server in settings. Then, filezilla worked fine instantly

wow thats good to know, im also have a vita but for now i dont really know where to start to JB, i only know im on a "good" firmware. need to check that ou, on how to do it. . was reading wololo page for that.

oh yeah yeah yeah thats what im using to edit cfg files comes in handy with the retroarch config and the overlays config as well, got little problem at first the plugin didnt showed up, but was my fault npp was not updated

ftp is given a low priority over system stability, which is one reason why it's got problems.

i dont use MM anymore, its a super app and was the beast back in the day, but now i really dont use it for anything. the only thing i can think is the file explorer, buut that you can also do it via ftp

no offense to Deank of course, his work is superb, without MM I do not know what would have happened with the ps3 scene
