Average temp of ps3 super slim

That was exactly what I was pointing at too.
It's the pick your poison situation.
I'm not worried about that either because the console slowly starts to cool down when it's switched off properly (not the abrupt switch offs of course as they can also damage the hdd).

My Ps3 switched off automatically after an hour of idle and i switched it on after and temps were 50c both right at the start.
If I leave it off all night and come back next day then I have a complete refreshed start out from 30c both.

thing is ambient temperature will never be at 50c or 60c , ambient temps can go up to 40c or maybe more, so to my knowledge the chips will never run at ambient temperature at the same exact ambient temperature you're in.
And speaking of ambient temperature the ps3 is always running according to it , if it's in a cooler environment then it can run a bit cooler if hotter than a bit hotter.
It influences it of course but running the chips at ambient temperature it's a futile attempt.

yeah but a lot of ur points, advice given prior, what ever ur going to call it was silly man and not needed. so far it seems you've done a back flip on how ur treating this thread so atm im not sure how to take ur comments anymore. i think ur pride got the better of u but lets hope u start reading and taking in the advice given also and not take it so personal.

not everyone treats the console the same way u treat urs so the info about ur console could be way different to someone elses so just be careful in how u word ur advice.

the noise can get distracting, which is why a lot of people suggest immersing yourself with the game by using headphones or surround sound. the irony about this temp obsession is that one should be more concerned if he's not hearing the fan rather than the other way around.

in my case my console runs nice and smooth but still use headphones when I have to immerse myself in the game a bit more since my son's watching tv or my wife's on her computer and stuff.
sometimes I don't even bother and just put it on my speakers but my console doesn't bother me at all . It's the actual blu-ray drive that can be noiser in fact when the laser motor changes place lol XD

You and Devil-303 still at it huh?
Mind your own as I'm minding my own , I didn't bring that shit up again and I engaged in a friendly conversation with you , now you're back to being a dick again , if you want it that way fine , I'm pressing that ignore button.
Jerkoffs.
And same with mr. Devil_303 , can't be bothered with whatever quarrel you 2 have with me.

Back to work. Got better things to do than holding grudges with strange peeps on forums.

oh my lord and here i was thinkin he was going to start being mature....... mate if u cant have a civil convo with out taking on board constructive criticism i suggest u start ignoring this forum all together. uve already been warned by a mod.

I think he's bipolar.

  • He disagrees with everyone then claims we are ganging up on him as we don't agree. lol.
  • He tells people they don't need fan control, then tries to play the victim and claim that people are trying to force him to use fan control.
  • Then mentions me again after I have left this thread alone since yesterday, but claims he has not got time for any grudges.
  • He brings up the fact the English tried to take over this country and still hold 6 counties, this in a technical debate about console temperatures but then says "pff, politics" "LMAO"
  • He says he doesn't care about console temperature and then starts talking about the technical side of heat and its bad effect on electronics,
  • He says he's leaving and keeps coming back for more.
  • etc etc. Its all there for people to read.

:)

Talk about conflicted, doesn't know if he's coming or going.

It's a bit like watching a child throughout this whole thread, you can see him twist and turn his opinion trying to explain his contradicting positions.. its like a real basic lesson in child psychology all in one thread.

TBH i kind of agree as bad as that sounds. he claims he didnt bring shit up, yet quoted something that i quoted to someone else to prove the point? confused much? lol so i dunno how that made me out that i was bringing this shit back up? pretty sure he just did haha. i did ignore everything else prior my last post till now, oh well guess we are the bad guys lol

Dudes you are looping
Forget a bit about some of the things that have been said before in this conversation, is like if some of you likes white and others black, but you are forgeting about the intermediate tones of grey
Probaby many people that was reading this conversation changed his mind a bit... but you want them to change his mind a lot and that is not going to happen so easilly :P

Dudes you are looping
exactly what I was thinking.

Let em loop mate , they've been put in ignore list , let them brag about whatever they wanna.

In fairness, he claimed you were giving him grief because he's from Northern Ireland and you're from Éire which I don't think for one second was the case as he was the one to bring it up. He didn't however bring up the English, and it was in fact you who mentioned "800 years of oppression". Please, let's just leave any bitter recriminations completely out of this as it's totally inappropriate given where we are posting, as you and I have both mentioned already. I hope you'll be understanding.

Its not actually when the system gets to those temps u need to worry its when the console is switched off at a higher temp thats to be concerned about, its the movement after that does more damage. Yes higher temps also damage other components too but the only reason people want these lower temps is basically put the closer u can get the console to run at ambient room temp the better so the board and BGA's have less chance of movement. obviously thats unrealistic but the lower the temps the better chance u got. Heat soak is also another issue in itself too.

yes, I know. the abrupt powering off could be causing damage. the ps4 continues running the fan when you power off until it reaches a safe temperature. the ps3, however, doesn't.

He brought it up, he was not talking about some rivalry in football or something was he, or what exactly do you think he was referring to? check my post history, I have never mentioned anything to do with Ireland/England ever on here or anywhere except in reply to Filepe .

I'd treat it the same if he personally attacked you for (as example) supporting Celtic and him Rangers, as we both know the implications behind that. A hypothetical situation, but just so you know I'm very much aware of the implications of what was said.

That said, I know you haven't mate, not saying you have as you and I have never had any issues over nationality or whatever and only once or twice have you mentioned where you were from (which is in your bio anyway, so it's not a big deal anyway :)). Yes, it was wrong for him to mention it and I already asked it be left at that after his remark to you about him from NI and you from ROI. I know it's a controversial sore spot, and that's why I asked that it be left alone as it has no place here. You had the right to take personal offence at his accusation, I'm not disputing that one bit.

All I ask is that we keep it civil and as friendly as possible. You're a very knowledgable member, and your time is surely better spent posting informative and interesting information (not telling you what to do, just saying :)) than getting drawn into such things as personal and contentious as what has been said. Let's just move on from it, no hard feelings.

Funny thing is that I was born in Birmingham and am more English than he is So its not like I take it personally exactly, I just don't like that shit :) But that doesn't matter to someone like him. Just seeing the word "Ireland" triggers him to make assumptions and try get in little digs...

Understandable. I wouldn't like it if someone attacked me for being English, unprovoked since I would never do it to them. It's definitely not something that should be brought up, on a technical forum no less. What's said was said however, and so we need to move on from it altogether as we're straying back off topic again lol

But "loop loop loop" is on topic is it. lol.

Loop loop loop.
It's almost like you have not put us all on ignore like you keep claiming :D

35...wow. I was guessing 15.

But "loop loop loop" is on topic is it. lol.
That's why I said 'we' meaning everyone involved. I'm happy to let this thread continue back on track or not at all, as anyone reading through this will think a couple of things.
  • "Well, that escalated quickly"
  • "WTF am I reading"
So, to everyone reading this, let's just forget what's gone before and move on in a mature manner. This is the last time I'm going to say it. Thanks.

I'm just on an older version HEN so I'm not sure if I'd be able to check the temps while running ps2 games. The main thing that interests me is if I reboot, the fans are still mega boosted for a variable amount of time (sometimes <5 minutes, sometimes 45+ mins) yet the temperature reads back in a fair range. Does anyone have any idea what's causing the fan to continue on like that because it baffles me lmao. The bottom of the system doesn't feel too hot to the touch when this happens either. There's no dust or anything in or around the system. It stands vertical, plenty of room for it to breathe etc.

So I guess no one has any idea what this is about lol? Nothing to worry about then unless one of these days my system turns itself off without my direction? Any possible insight @sandungas you seem like one who knows a lot about this sort of stuff lol. There's more info in other posts I put in this thread.

I checked around some other places on the web and found a few others who basically have the same problem (if you can even classify it as a "problem") but there were not really any solid explanations there either.
