PS3 HAN Toolbox - Translations Required For Upcoming Multi Language Version

Took another look, still has problems. While you translated Download to "Transferir", you did it with a mass replace tool in you text editor, resulting in sentences which have double spaces on where the Download was, and the verb that was before Download still remaining there.
Most problems I listed on my last post are still there, like the untranslated strings, the external content problem, capitalization problems, and Brazilian words.

In any case, here's my translation again, but with minor tweaks and one typo fixed. At this point, I feel it's better to just use my translation than to continue fixing yours, but feel free to continue doing so if you want. In the end, it really depends on which one @DeViL303 wants to use in HAN Toolbox.
portuguese.xml 0.3

Actually both translations are with mistypes. @FmTGamer you're being rude to say that yours is better than @PTKick4ss, and you PTKick4ss is using some elements that is not common on Brazil (like "Ficheiros", "Tem cuidado" and not using articles like "Ativar HAN" over "Ativar o HAN").

(PS1: In Brazil "Raparigas" is a bad word)
(PS2: Ficheiros or Arquivos: "Search on Wikipedia PT: Arquivo_de_computador")
(PS3: Transferir or baixar: "Search on Wikipedia PT: Download_e_upload")

---

I made a mix of both, fixed some mistypes and revised, by now is better get a forty opinion to decide what is better (@HollowChris).

If you need to change the language a bit don't worry about it, exact match is not required, just get across the basic meaning of each item. For example you might find it better to say "Copy" instead of "inject" , or shorten some stuff to make it fit, whatever.
I want translate it but im not sure my country using HAN Toolbox

By far this translation is the most accurate. I really like it. There's some things that in my opinion could be better, like change "Toolbox" to "Ferramentas", like any other software that use this word, and change "Reinicio de Software/hardware" to "Reinicialização" because "boot" is more often used as "inicialização", and "start" as "início".

But, thank you all for the effort.

PS: The first PT-BR translation that I downloaded in this topic (can't remember owner) was just a ripoff of the PT-PT translation, LOL.

Was busy with other stuff (still am), that's why I haven't seen this post in a while. The main reason I'm using those expressions is because I'm targeting a Portuguese audience, and not a Brazilian audience, since we have 2 different translations for each variant. So we could use the terms that sound better in Brazil in the PT-BR translation, and the ones that sound better in Portugal in the PT-PT translation. Just giving my 2 cents here...

@DeViL303 you could make a forum table (with rows and columns) with al the languages supported by the firmware (up to 19) and after that the others not supported from people that submitted transations to you
In every row:
language number code - language name - translators - link to post with the latest version (and timestamp)

This way the "translation teams" can coordinate better, and is good for an overview of which languages are missing, etc...

Im going to post the link again as a reminder for rookies http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Template:XMB_languages
Something like that table (but way more simple) with the info about translations at the right columns

The "Toolbox" is a name, so we couldn't translate it. And "Reinicialização" looks a little long compared to "Reinício" and meaning is same.

That's actually the reason to PS3 have the PT-PT and PT-BR. :P
Anyway your translation is very good to PT-PT, maybe you should revise again and submit it as PT-PT.

Damn! I'm late to the party
You are on time of helping, mr_ota made the spanish translation (and i reviewed it a bit) but both us are from spain and you seem to be from venezuela, there could be some small differences in between spanish (for euro region) and spanish (for south america region)

So you can do 2 different things to solve that:

-Take the translation from mr_ota as the base... and if you find something that looks weird to you try to replace it by something more "neutral", the goal is to try to make a "international" spanish translation to cover all spanish speakers regions worldwide with a single file

-Take the translation from mr_ota as the base... and if you find something that looks weird to you replace it by the best sentence you find... then submit your translation as spanish-LA (for latino america), you need to try to cover all that region

I think the first option is better... is just sometimes is very hard to find a "neutral" way to translate some things
The best (and most annoying) example of this is "THE PS3" (in english it doesnt have sex genre)... but in spain we name it "LA PS3" (in female), and in south america ive seen there is lot of countries that names it "EL PS3" (in male)... so we are doing opposite things, lol... the only intermediate solution is to remove the sex gender from it (but uses to look bad in the sentences when you dont add the genre)

Best gender neutral pronoun is "comrade" -- sorry, commie joke... :D:oops:

Well anyway thanks for the info, i don't know another language than english, spanish and catalan :p
You can make a translation in catalan, the problem is what mr_ota mentioned, PS3 only supports up to 19 languages and catalan is not one of them

So your han toolbox translation in catalan is going to be "on top" of spanish
You are going to have eveything in spanish... and the toolbox in catalan
Not sure if this is a very good idea

Also, you would need to ask devil303 to prepare a rco specific for this (or make it yourself) because it cant be released as something generic

We are hoping to make a multi language HAN Toolbox for the next release 0.6, We want to add all the text entries to the rcos, so the Toolbox will change language depending on your XMB language setting.

If anyone wants to help out, please translate the entries in the attached English.xml (just translate the text in between the > <), rename it to your language and upload it here.

Translators will get credits in the release notes of every version that uses them, Sorry but we wont be fitting all your names onto the XMB, no room.

Those could probably be explained better alright.

The first one toggles/changes the sysconf_plugin.sprx to the one you have downloaded in the HANTOOLBX/USRDIR/files folder. Its for switching between CEX and DEX debug settings menu.

The second one toggles/changes the xmb_plugin.sprx to the one you have downloaded in the HANTOOLBX/USRDIR/files folder, it toggles whether or not the IP/host info is visible on the XMB.
