IRISMAN

PS3 IRISMAN {information] - A manager for CFW enabled PS3's (developed by Aldostools) 4.91.2

@aldostools Hello just a newbie here.
  • I understand that IRISMAN can be used on Cobra Enabled CFW (Please correct me if I'm wrong). I would like to know how IRISMAN handle Cobra Enabled CFW?
  • I mean when IRISMAN is used on Cobra Enabled CFW (such as Habib Cobra CFW), will IRISMAN still use its built-in Mamba payload? or will IRISMAN disable its Mamba payload and use Cobra in the CFW instead for its full PS1/PS2/PSP/PS3 ISO mounting / loading in NTFS external drive?
  • And lastly, I've read in previous releases of IRISMAN that it has broken internal fan controller in payload mode which can potentially cause a YLOD, May I know if this has been fixed in the new versions of IRISMAN? (I would just like to be safe and make sure before I try to tinker with the said feature).
Thanks in advance!

You can check used mode at the bottom of screen in menu of IRISMAN:

  • payload-sk1e - 'Cobra' syscall8
  • payload-sk1e - 'Mamba' syscall8
Example: http://www.psx-place.com/attachments/irisman-v3-39-png.4461/
Displayed mode is used to handle everything as far as I know. Anyway, ntfs is more internal app library case than cobra/mamba itself.

Probably is not fixed, nut I'm not sure. You can just use sMAN / webMAN / webMAN MOD for that.

I have not had problems with the Irisman fan lately but I rarely use it. I only remember one user posting about this...

Bug would not cause ylod directly anyway. Ylod would only happen with constant overheating over some time.
If there is still such a bug in Irisman & the fan control does not work properly you will know very quickly.
All you need to do is keep an eye on your temps after gaming for 10/20mn. If the temps are not following the temp/fan speed table defined in Irisman fan control setup then there is a problem.
If you do realise that you have such a problem then obviously you would stop using the Irisman fan control & no damage would be done.
In any case, no matter what you do, never let the console run at more than 80c for more than a few minutes & never let it reach 85c or you will have severe issues!

Anyway you should note that nowadays most users rely on webman/wMM/sMan dynamic fan control & leave Irisman's off.
I recommend it too.

1. Yes, IRISMAN can handle Cobra enabled. Indeed that's the suggested mode.
2. No, IRISMAN will install Mamba only if Cobra is disabled & the "Cobra / Disc-less payload" is selected.
3. The fan controller payload was fixed long time ago. Anyway I recommend to use wM/wMM/sMAN dynamic fan controller, instead of IRISMAN's fan controllers (SM SPRX or Payload)

@kozarovv @bguerville @aldostools Thank you so very much sirs!

@aldostools Though one last thing sir, just to make sure I am understanding you correctlty, Does this mean that when IRISMAN is used in a Cobra Enabled CFW, it will use Cobra and not Mamba?

Also, can I use the latest IRISMAN v4.81 on lower CFW like 4.65 CFW?
