Nintendo Pinky's Wii-U Tutorials

I have multiple unsigned games installed to my usb drive with the tickets being installed to redNAND. I backed up my redNAND with all those tickets recently. :)

have u hacked the virtual wii? I read that modifying the virtual wii or the wii u side will prevent u from installing new updates. backing up the NAND of the virtual wii will allow u to reflash the NAND to make it clean in case there's an update with zelda.

I was reading about the NAND of the wii u. the wii u and the virtual wii actually use the same NAND chip. I forgot how it's divided exactly though. it was on temp. speaking of which, they wrote an article about how zelda would be the last first party game for the system. that project giant robot by Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Zelda, has been cancelled due to problems with development. if there's no update with zelda, I think we're good to go with the system (i.e. no further updates). :-p

I did vWii 2 years ago prior to wiiuhax, but I haven't messed with it much after I wrote my own tutorial for the Korean community I used to mod , which was closed a few months ago.

I also did backup that NAND while back and I'm not sure if that can be used for debricking my WiiU

I don't know for sure if hacking the virtual wii will prevent u from updating, but I've read that it does on temp. I've also added a theme which I posted a photo of on one of these pages. lol ...so, mine is pretty hacked. though, I only hacked 5.5.1. u can probably play zelda on loadiine if an update exists since u can remove the update partition which I think is a folder named sys on the root of the disc.

u can fix a brick with a NAND backup. in fact, smea had to fix one while developing iosu hax. a member of temp has successfully backed up and flashed the NAND, so it's possible. I'm not sure if many people know how to do it though, so be careful with using coldboot hax. at least u have a NAND backup in case something does happen though.

right now, I'm using redNAND which works very well. it takes about the same time as it does to enter mocha cfw, so it's not that time-consuming. it would only be faster with coldboot hax. I enter redNAND with haxchi using yoshi's island which is a majorly cheating ds game. I couldn't beat the final stage. lol :D

by the way, am I the only one who has an issue with mocha's config not being saved?

everytime I launch mocha, I still get the menu option which I set to disable ..

I don't recall having that issue, but I've only entered mocha a few times. I enter redNAND with fw.img instead of using mocha. u might mention that to dimok whom I think is the dev of mocha.

Can't skip this no matter what I do, maybe I should use newer version of haxchi? Hmm

not sure. I'd think haxchi wouldn't affect that. I'll see if it happens to me. I think u have the wrong option though with "skip this menu on launch" needing "on."

I dunno what's going on with mocha. is there a newer version? I don't think haxchi would affect that sort of thing. the only other alternative is to report it as a bug to dimok. he's on temp, and I think he has an official mocha thread somewhere in the wii u section. there may be other people with the same problem, so it may have gotten fixed.

There's a newer version with USB support for apps like loadiine which means you can load those decrypted games on USB but it still suffers from the same speed issue. but he hasn't released the public version (the one I compiled has his latest changes)

nice! so ur no longer encountering the config menu?

Well I set that directlaunch = 1; so it skips the config menu by default, and hasn't tried to change config yet, will find out later if that works fine by force-entering

that must be what's wrong. it must be staying at 0 for some reason. I'll see what happens to me this weekend. I've read that mocha spoofs to 9.9.9 as well. I'm not sure if it shows it, but I think that's in preparation for zelda.

Well the bug still remains, now I am stuck with this setting lol, I guess I will report to dimok about this

that's a bummer, man. I'll report back here once I check it on my end. I guess u might as well check haxchi, but I doubt it would affect this. is mocha set as ur default haxchi homebrew?

Yup, this is my current setup, I'm pretty satisfied

do u have that wup installer gx2 files? I'm missing that. and, do u have ur homebrew on the mlc or the usb?

it looks more advanced than the one I've been using. it looks like loadiine actually. I've installed all homebrew on the sysNAND/redNAND while installing games on the usb. signed ones should work without needing to go into cfw. a lot of apps will show unsigned games in a different color or with a checkmark. using utikdownloadhelper, it will say "fake sign" in brackets or parenthesis to tell u that it's using a fake ticket. anything without fakesign has a ticket that can be used on normal sysNAND. it's usually high profile games that don't require a fake ticket since the ticket used by the game is a slightly modified version of the one used for the digital equivalent.

I was going to mass install tickets only on my sysNAND (mlc) since the games r already on the usb, but I was told on temp that game tickets sometimes contain ticket information for multiple games, so it's difficult o know what goes to what without that ticket app. (forgot the name of it). that's if dropping the tickets into the sysNAND instead of actually installing them. it's complicated as hell to install just the tickets. they don't go in a folder named after the title id. u have to figure the folder on ur own. the ticket program might be able to tell u though. it would probably take longer to figure that out for each game than installing them over again. it's complicated.

@pinky

Yeah, it would be nice to have all the tickets, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case for eshop only contents as well as DLC

What I was surprised was that system config tool was not even needed to install contents without tickets after sigcheck was applied, although I haven't tried contents from different regions.

it would be nice to install all tickets. if u install them to mlc NAND - backing up the NAND for redNAND will retain those tickets. u can't do it in reverse though.

yeah, if u have sig patched, u can just use wup installer. I believe system config tool was part of the wii u sdk. that's the reason it can't be posted on temp or even here. it's an app created by Nintendo probably to debug various functions. :-P it's the only app I use to install things unless I have to use wup like installing system config tool in the first place. ;)
