PS2 Classics GUI

PS3 PS2 Classic GUI v2.2.3

The description says I can decrypt the PS2 pkgs with it, but how do I turn the resulting ISO.BIN file into a working .iso file?

I don't believe you can. I've decrypted those files before, then tried to have a working iso. it's always short a few kilobytes, so the iso doesn't work.

Someone in gbatemp mentioned this two years ago:

For future prosperity in case anyone else ends up here in their quest to convert ps2 classic .pkg s to iso files.
I've found a method that works:

First grab your pkg and make sure you have a valid matching rap file
Download the ps3 toolset and install it: http://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps...0-tools-utility-for-your-cfw-enabled-ps3.360/

We'll want to use PkgView.exe to open our pkg, once the pkg file is loaded navigate to "USRDIR", there should be a file labeled "ISO.BIN.ENC should be largest file in the pkg.
right click on it and extract it to a folder of your choosing or in the "source directory" which is where your pkg is.
after extraction move both your "ISO.BIN.ENC" and rap file into the same directory as ps2classic.exe which has two .dll dependencies of "zlib1.dll" and "cygwin1.dll" these files are in the tools package you would have downloaded.

then use cmd to navigate to the folder where your ps2classic.exe setup is and construct your command like the following:

ps2classic.exe d cex YOURRAPHERE.rap ISO.BIN.ENC ISO.BIN ISO.META.DAT

then hopefully you should be able to fully decrypt your iso bin file

As an aside and additional note it seems that the pkg container itself is not encrypted with the rap key but the "ISO.BIN.ENC" is.

Hope this helps out people who had the idea to reverse the process.

But I the ISO.BIN appears to be the same as the one I get normally through PS2 Classic GUI's decryption tool, and I don't know what to do with the ISO.META.DAT.

Is this tool available in some form that could run in ARMHF (raspberry pi) ?
Could it be in command line I can handle it.

How do people deal with "Make PKG" function creating a 48kb CONFIG file with no extension?
Happens with every game. Encrypt ISO -> Make PKG -> Choose ISO.BIN.ENC -> Choose proper config file results in that.

looks like there is no config for that game. the compatability list does say to disable smoothing. this setting is in "game settings" menu (just below "system update" on xmb).

This game perform so bad on ps3, that it was removed from official ps2 classics list on ps store. I don't think is worth to play it on ps3.

Hello, I have a doubt about which configfiles I should use

I am converting the Metal Slug Anthology SLUS 21550 to pkg, but when selecting the configfile in the CONFIGS folder I have several different configurations, there are the CUSTOM folder, the GX, the SOFT and also the ORIGINAL CUSTOM, ORIGINAL GX AND ORIGINAL SOFT

How do I know which one to use?
My PS3 and a SLIM 2501A CFW 4.81 Habib,thanks
