freezing with theme settings? could be the sysconf_plugin.rco. I believe theme information is stored in there. either that or the system_plugin.rco which is very sensitive to manipulation. that one will cause a system freeze if u mess with the wrong setting/icon.

wondering if these issues have something to do with the cobra hashes. what version cobra r u running @LuanTeles ? I'm still on 7.50, but I haven't tried ur mod yet.

LOL I tried to reproduce all the issues reported Here and i couldnt have any ot those, i'm on Rebug 4.81.2 tested on COBRA 7.50 and 7.52, NO ISSUES SO FAR

only one is the sorting in game column xmb pressing SQUARE, it only changes upon refreshing the column by installing new apk, launching a game, or rebooting the console, due to my changes in disc icon ( still investigating)

*EDIT*

Changing theme sometimes freezes the console, dunno why

Tried changing 10 times on the last try it frozee,

*Edit 2*

Changed it 7 times and froze

So it seems random LOL

*Edit 3*

Changed Classic to Original and back and it froze

I love it! as far as the theme settings I don't care. I put this mod in because I like it so no need to change theme. I just stumbled across this problem when messing with theme settings.do you think files all have to be the same in flash and hdd?

There is a problem (or maybe more than one) with the mod.
Those various reports tell us that much...
Either with one or more file(s) and possibly with Cobra too, whether on certain Cobra versions or builds I don't know, some investigation is required...

Tried to recalculate the hashes using ur tools and says there are no keys, and cannot open it
That's because you don't have the folder containing the keys.
Use the ps3keys folder provided on github.com/Joonie86/COBRA-7.3/4.81/REX/Hash_newcalc.
Actually the hash_newcalc project can even be compiled with my ARM cpu on my smartphone using cppdroid/C4droid or AIDE & run on any Android phone. AIDE will enen create an apk for deployment ... Lol

You also need unself2 for the app to work. You can get it from puadgui or compile the project here with cygwin or mingw:

it's easiest doing so with PUAD since it has the unself2 file required. it should use the keys of PUAD to decrypt the self to its elf version. this is the method both me and @kozarovv mention in our tutorials. it's the easiest way really.

Given the fact that building unself2 requires 30s with a minimal cygwin or mingw installation, it requires no configuration of any kind so I would argue that compiling unself2 by typing "make" in the comnand prompt is actually faster & just as easy... [emoji6]

Having said that puadgui is a must have for ps3 modders so it needs to be installed anyway... But then again so does mingw or cygwin really...

I feel like it's my fault that these freezes r occurring. if u, @LuanTeles, r using my game_ext_plugin.sprx and me having not supplied the fixed hashes, I could be responsible. I actually thought they were no longer needed. it's an easy fix though. the only downside is that u need to type in the hex or text manually since unself2 doesn't record the hash to the clipboard. remember, ur looking at alphanumeric 0 I believe or whatever the first alphanumeric listed is - that's ur hash.

Cobra applies dynamically 3 different patches to game_ext_plugin.sprx & the static hash for game_ext_plugin.sprx must be verified successfully by Cobra otherwise the patching operation would fail. The 3 patches comprise a ps2_netemu fix, a remote play sfo flag fix & another I cannot recall just now..

What I am saying here is still hypothetical because I do not know yet if the sprx static hash has changed & needs to be amended in modulespatch.h.
If it happens to be the case then it's a bit a problem that maybe habib will want to look into. Fundamentally, it would be better if the static hash used could remain unchanged despite the possible patches made to the sprx file...

The problem now for you @LuanTeles , if & only if the game_ext_plugin.sprx hash has changed, is that deployment of your mod would require deploying a modded Cobra stage2.bin as well... A practice better avoided imo...
If you do end up having to do that then make sure you warn users clearly about the risks of messing with Cobra files, using different builds & different versions, especially on nand consoles...

it's most likely the game_ext_plugin.sprx or one of the rco files. usually, however, rco files will cause the system to freeze immediately which is y I think the former may be responsible. modifying the stage 2 bin file to fix hashes should be okay from what I've seen. I've done so before with no ill effects. both kozzy and I have u hex edit the new hash instead of going through modulespatch.h and recompiling to avoid more confusion. the different firmwares and cobra versions also add to the confusion as to y things may become unstable. this makes modding difficult beyond say a coldboot or a wave.

Btw while we are talking about keys & puadgui you guys should also remember that the keys have wrong entries.
For those of you who may have missed it, littlebalup found discrepancies recently in a few keys (in the multiple key files format & afaik not the single Keys file that many other apps use.. TBC though...) so you might want to update them with the right values.
It would not be a problem here with hash_newcalc & unself2 though so no hurry, just a reminder... [emoji6]

weren't those the lv1 keys and the lv0 key that seemed to have issues? PUAD decrypts them just fine, so maybe it was the keys files to scetool?

Not sure but remember that those keys were wrong for ages not just for 4.81 & nobody noticed despite using scetool with most apps for months/years...!
Better check...!

I believe the only file PUAD has a problem with is lv 0.2 which is a hash calculator for lv 0. afaik, it's only used with metldr2/bootldr 2, so only 3xxx and 4xxx systems. it will appear to error when decrypting the core os, but that's the only file that truly fails. it would be nice to upload the newer keys though just in case. I've never made cfw, so I don't know which keys r correct for sure. I know some keys, if they're wrong, hard brick the system, so they must not be any of those.
