PS VITA / PS TV (PSTV) VitaDefilerClient Installer Without The Need Of A Vita

Are you a frustrated PSTV owner because don't own a Vita in order to have access to all needed files in to fully Rejuvenate your PSTV with PSM+ thus bringing life to the system finally? Something it seems even Sony has failed to do calling our beloved system a "legacy" device. Well wait no more folks the answer to all your prayers are finally here thanks to the marvelous mr. gas and SMOKE!! No worries about the [break].[/break]limitations of 3.51 & lower or the lockout at firmwares 3.52 and more.

Installation Method
​

Instructions:
1. Copy the UNITY-TV folder for your Unity app version to CMA's PSAVEDATA/<random numbers>/ folder.
2. Copy the savedata to your PSTV ( You will need to use VitaUpdateBlocker )
3. Make sure you have no notifications and are not downloading anything.
4. Rebuild database in recovery.
5. Using Outlook or Thunderbird, forward the eml to your email account.
6. Find any Vita app or game that has an update available, click update, and then pause the download.
7. Open the Email app and click the attachments one at a time.
It should show an error that says it could not display the image. DO NOT click the ok button.
Instead, press home and close the Email app.
8. Once you have installed both files, reboot your PSTV again.
9. Then, continue the download. The download should now be ~5mb. If not, something went wrong.
10. Once downloading is complete, open the Unity app ( You might need to install PSM+ ) and delete the 0000 "app"
11. You should now only have Vita Defiler Client installed in Unity. Now you can cancel the installation notification.

How to update if you have used this method before:
1. Simply FTP the Application & System folders from this pack to cache0:/VitaDefilerClient/
eg. I have Unity 1.06, so the folders and files I need to replace on my PSTV are in Unity 1.06/UNITY-TV/p/VitaDefilerClient/

Troubleshooting:
-To install PSM+ on your PSTV, use the Device ID your Vita assuming you have a Vita as well. (**Hint Youtube can help with this and will not risk anyone's account or system**)

**PLEASE NOTE**​

PSM Unity v1.05 for 3.20 and below and PSM Unity v1.06 is for firmware 3.36+. Both are included here in the install zip. The latest EML File Generator 0.3 can be found here at Major Tom's github page. Also one MUST use Codestations (Windows & OSX flavors available) QCMA and since the PSTV lacks USB support one must set the app to 3.10, allow connection without internet, spoof with the latest VitaUpdateBlocker by iAmGhost. Both PSTV/Vita need to be on the same wireless network (yes it can be on a mobile hotspot using Vita Defiler reported here earlier today so a PC or Android is also needed pick your poison) in order for PSTV to see QCMA for EML trick. I use the "pportable" version of Thunderbird with my gamil account to send EML file to write to Vita memory card. This took a lot of work to figure out the right settings so I wanted to share and save you some time/heartache. If choosing Android over a PC you may want to have a look at the link I posted earlier here as all tools and apps needed by either PC or Android are covered between the two articles as well as all the latest up to date native Vita side applications. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have.

Im getting frustrated. I cannot get an internet connection when i test it.
my pc ip address is 10.50.100.10 and that shows up when i run vita update blocker
my gateway ip is 10.50.100.7

So i set up my network on pstv as follows...
i set a static ip of 10.50.100.77
255.255.255.0
gateway = 10.50.100.7 also tried 10.50.100.10
primary dns = 8.8.8.8 but ive also tried my comcast dns
secondary = 8.8.4.4 but also tried comcast secondary
proxy server address = 10.50.100.10
port = 8080

I dont know why i cant get a connection? Do you see anything wrong with my settings?
EDIT: Found out what the problem was...
It is the proxy server version 1.2
I tried version 1.1 and presto...

set the system to obtain the ip automatically. the system takes a few seconds to use the proxy btw as it'll disconnect from the internet then reconnect. after u have the proxy enabled, try to do a system update within the settings' menu. it should error saying u have the latest version. update blocker will then say it's spoofed ur firmware. if it doesn't say that, something is wrong...perhaps on the router side.

hold the ps button, r1, and the power button at the same time with the system completely off.

Now I should buy borderlands 2 from pstv and then after it's downloaded click on update and pause?

We skipped adding psn account in the beggining...
were we supposed to do that then?
Is this why i cant get logged into psn?

I just restored the database and started completely over. Went allot faster after doing this 100 times already...
But even if i plug in my psn account during setup, it always fails signing into psn when checking connections in setup.
And when i go to psn bubble on pstv it tells me i have to update software to sign in.
And yes i do have vitaupdateblocker 1.1 running

 

You have to add your PSN account or it isn't activated and you can't do anything. Don't update and I suggest a cart over a PSN download unless you have a PS3. Also Vitaupdate Blocker 1.1 won't work you need 1.2

u'll need a ps3. the update blocker won't allow access to psn. it just blocks update nags with certain programs.

just buy the game normally. cma has an option to use the ps3 as a source destination to transfer over content.

You will still need Vita Update Blocker 1.2 to transfer from PS3 to PSTV. 1.1 spoofs to 3.36 which isn't the latest so you will never connect. 1.2 automatically updates the firmware spoof when Sony does. And I have Batman Arkham Origins and I have never seen an update. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 used to have it till Sony pulled the game from PSN and the whitelist. Only the cart works now and the update is gone. Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice Delta have them but only in the game. To find out if the game has an update there is an orange icon in the Live Area of the game.

just get borderlands 2. I own the bundle, so if anyone is interested in a vita, get that one (slim vita plus game with update and 8GB memory card which is even less if using ebay). that's the game I used before I knew about that update within the system menu, but that no longer works, so borderlands 2 is a sure thing as far as updates go.

1.2 is not working correct on Windows 7 or 8. We posted what happens on 1.2.
I was going to try running it on linux but everytime I try to run the .py I get an error.

works fine for me as well. if ur having issues, it sounds like ur not using open cma. there's a disclaimer about using the .bat with administrative rights assigned on windows 7, perhaps 8 as well. I didn't need to, but u may have to. what'll happen is u'll be taken to the psn section to enter ur credentials. u won't sign in, but it'll determine ur psn id before returning u to the cma menu. if ur on the vita, disable wifi, enable airplane mode, and use a usb cable if u have issues; if ur on the pstv, use open cma with vita update blocker 1.2. I just transferred over my borderlands game to the pstv yesterday via that method without issues. not sure of ur issues with linux. I used a linux-based app for part of my 3ds hacking, but not with the pstv or psv. :-/

The game I can transfer using CMA from PS3 if I understand correctly. I'm trying to get the exploit
I have emailed the eml file to the pstv now I need to install the game update. However, I cannot access psn on the pstv because it wants me to update fw.
So I can transfer the game to pstv and just go to launch the game and it will ask me to update just the game?
